Abstract
Description
ピクセルのアレイが被着された少なくとも1つの表面を有し、各ピクセルは少なくとも1つの活性化可能な着色剤を含み、異なるピクセルは異なる着色剤を有し、これらピクセルが、使用時において用紙が活性化プリンタを通過された場合に多色画像を生成することができるように所定のパターンに配置されているような媒体が提供される。
当該プリンタを通過する際に前記媒体の選択された部分を活性化する手段と、
所望の画像を生成するために、前記活性化手段を駆動して前記媒体の前記選択された部分に活性化エネルギを供給する手段と、
所望の多色画像を生成するために当該プリンタが用紙上のどのピクセルを活性化すべきかを決定することができるように、前記媒体上の前記アレイにおける前記ピクセルのパターンを検出する手段と、
を有する活性化プリンタを提供する。
Claims (13)
- 活性化プリンタと共に使用する媒体であって、該媒体が、
画定された画像領域を有する少なくとも1つのインク受容的表面と、
前記画像領域の全幅にわたって延在する複数のピクセルであって、各ピクセルが少なくとも1つの活性化可能なインクを含み、少なくとも3つの異なるインクが前記画像領域において使用される複数のピクセルと、
を有し、
前記ピクセルに使用される前記インクの少なくとも1つは、前記プリンタが、活性化の間に正しい多色画像が生成されるように前記ピクセルの所定のパターン及び/又は位置を決定するのを可能にするUV蛍光インクである媒体。 - 当該媒体における前記表面上の該媒体の非画像化領域上に他の印刷されたエンコーダパターンが設けられる請求項1に記載の媒体。
- 前記パターンが繰り返しパターンである請求項1又は請求項2に記載の媒体。
- 前記パターンが予測可能なものである請求項1ないし3の何れか一項に記載の媒体。
- 前記インクの1以上が単一の活性化可能な着色剤を含む請求項1ないし4の何れか一項に記載の媒体。
- 前記インクの1以上が少なくとも2つの着色剤を含み、これらの着色剤が大幅に異なる活性化レベルを有する請求項1ないし5の何れか一項に記載の媒体。
- より高い活性化レベルを持つ如何なる着色剤も、より低い活性化レベルの着色剤よりも暗い色である請求項6に記載の媒体。
- 活性化されると、より高い活性化レベルを持つ如何なる着色剤も、より低い活性化レベルを持つ着色剤が単独で作用することにより以前に生成された当該ピクセルの色の色相又は彩度を変化させる請求項7に記載の媒体。
- 請求項1ないし8の何れか一項に記載の媒体と共に使用する活性化プリンタであって、
前記媒体が当該プリンタを通過する際に、該媒体の選択された部分を活性化する手段と、
所望の画像を生成するために、前記活性化する手段を駆動して前記媒体の前記選択された部分に活性化エネルギを供給する手段と、
当該プリンタが所望の多色画像を生成するために用紙上のどのピクセルを活性化すべきかを決定することができるように、前記媒体上のアレイにおけるピクセルのパターンを決定すべく前記ピクセルにおける前記蛍光インクを検出する手段と、
を有する活性化プリンタ。 - 前記パターンを検出する手段がエンコーダセンサを含む請求項9に記載の活性化プリンタ。
- 当該プリンタを介しての前記媒体の1回の通過により所望の多色画像を生成すべく該プリンタが前記媒体上のピクセルを選択的に活性化することができるように、前記活性化する手段を該活性化する手段を経る前記ピクセルのリアルタイム通過に同期させる手段を更に有する請求項9に記載の活性化プリンタ。
- プリントヘッドが、熱式プリントヘッド、発光式プリントヘッド又は圧力式プリントヘッドのうちの1つである請求項9に記載の活性化プリンタ。
- ピクセルの如何なる活性化の期間又は強度も制御し、これにより該ピクセルにおいて活性化される着色剤の量を制御する手段を更に有する請求項9ないし12の何れか一項に記載の活性化プリンタ。
