Claims (14)

  1. 炭素供給源をガス化して合成ガスを生成するためのガス化装置と、前記合成ガスを燃焼させて電力を生成するための合成ガス燃焼システムと、前記合成ガス以外の燃料ガスを燃焼させてさらなる電力を生成するための予混合燃焼システムと、を含む統合型ガス化複合サイクル(IGCC)プラントの稼働方法であって、
    前記ガス化装置を稼働させて、前記合成ガス燃焼システムがピーク電力要求に見合うのに十分な電力を生成するのに十分な速度より小さい実質的に一定の速度で、合成ガスを生成するステップと、
    実質的に一定の速度で前記合成ガスを前記合成ガス燃焼システムに供給することによって生成され得るベース負荷よりも、現状の電力要求が低いときには、
    前記合成ガスの第1の部分を、前記現状の電力要求に見合う十分な量で、前記ガス化装置から前記合成ガス燃焼システムに供給するステップと、
    前記合成ガスの第2の部分を液体燃料に転換し、該液体燃料を保管するステップと、
    実質的に一定の速度で前記合成ガスを前記合成ガス燃焼システムに供給することによって生成され得るベース負荷よりも、現状の電力要求が高いときには、
    前記現状の電力要求の第1の部分に見合うように、前記合成ガスのすべてを前記ガス化装置から前記合成ガス燃焼システムに供給するステップと、
    電力要求が前記ベース負荷よりも低いときに保管された前記液体燃料を気化させるともに、周囲空気より酸素含有量が少ない第1のガスと組み合わせることによって、燃料ガスを生成するステップと、
    前記燃料ガスを、少なくとも1つの酸化剤を備える第2のガスと接触させて燃焼ガスを形成するステップと
    前記燃焼ガスを前記予混合燃焼システム内で燃焼させて、前記現状の電力要求の第2の部分に見合うような十分な電力を生成するステップと、
    を備える、方法
  2. 前記炭素供給源は、石炭、亜炭、褐炭、無煙炭、亜瀝青炭、微粒炭素、化石燃料、固体炭化水素、液体炭化水素、残留油、低API重力燃料油、タールサンド油、シェール油、VacResid、石油コークス、石油ボトム、アスファルト、APIアスファルト、残留コークス、天然ガス、蝋、ビチューメン、ビチューメンの水性乳濁液、バイオマス、炭水化物、セルロース系材料、泥炭、トウモロコシ、藁、木材、木材残留物、肥料、下水汚泥、籾殻、稲藁、エンバク殻、松の樹皮、タイヤおよび/またはタイヤ由来燃料、残留フルフラール、エンバク殻、スイッチグラス、オリーブのかす、サンサ、一本の木材から出る廃物、サトウキビバガス、未消化乾燥下水汚泥、消化乾燥下水汚泥、カーペット製造織端、使用済カーペット、にわとりの寝藁、七面鳥の寝藁、積層床材ちり、都会の植物性廃棄物、パルプ汚泥、トウモロコシの茎葉、エタノール工場で生じる乾燥された蒸留穀物残渣、ならびにそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法
  3. 前記合成ガスの第2の部分を液体燃料に転換するステップは、フィッシャートロプシュ法を備える、請求項1に記載の方法
  4. 前記液体燃料は、前記第1のガスと接触する前に気化される、請求項1に記載の方法
  5. 前記液体燃料は、前記第1のガスと接触することによって気化される、請求項1に記載の方法
  6. 前記第1のガスは、不活性ガス、窒素、アルゴン、水素、一酸化炭素、二酸化炭素、NOX、SOX、炭化水素、メタン、エタン、プロパン、ブタン、アンモニア、空気分離器ユニットによって供給されるガス、排ガス、高温排ガス、低温排ガス、合成ガス、またはそれらの組合せの1つ以上を含む、請求項1に記載の方法
  7. 前記第1のガス中の前記酸素含有量は、前記燃料ガスの燃焼が支持されないように十分低い、請求項1に記載の方法
  8. 前記第1のガスは実質的に酸素を含有しない、請求項1に記載の方法
  9. 前記第1のガス中の前記酸素含有量は、前記燃焼ガスの自己発火が遅れるか減少するように十分低い、請求項1に記載の方法
  10. 前記燃料ガスを生成する前に、前記液体燃料を保管容器に送り、前記液体燃料を前記保管容器に一定期間保管し、前記液体燃料を前記保管容器から取出すステップをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法
  11. 前記燃料ガスを生成する前に、前記液体燃料をトラック、鉄道、パイプライン、もしくは船、またはそれらの組合せによって輸送するステップをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法
  12. 前記燃焼ガスは、燃焼装置内の火炎面に到達する前に形成される、請求項1に記載の方法
  13. 前記統合型ガス化複合サイクル(IGCC)プラントは、空気分離器ユニットをさらに含み、
    酸素豊富なガスを前記空気分離器ユニットから前記ガス化装置に供給するステップと、
    前記空気分離器ユニットから窒素豊富なガスを前記燃料ガスを生成するステップにおける前記第1のガスとして使用するステップと、
    をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
  14. 前記統合型ガス化複合サイクル(IGCC)プラントは、単一のガス化装置を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
