Abstract
Description
本発明は、産業装置、例えば、蒸発器、熱交換器、その他の装置であって、CIP(clean−in−place)プロセスを用いて慣用的に洗浄されているものの洗浄に関する。
多くの産業用途、例えば、食品及び飲料の製造においては、硬い表面は一般に、汚れ(soils)例えば、炭水化物、タンパク様、及び硬質の汚れ、食用油の汚れ、その他の汚れにより汚染されるようになる。炭水化物の汚れ、例えばセルロース、単糖類、二糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン、ガム、その他の複合材料は、乾燥したとき、特に、他の汚れ成分、例えばタンパク質、脂肪、油その他と併合されるとき、タフで除去困難な汚れを形成することができる。このような炭水化物の汚れの除去はかなりの問題となることができる。同様に、他の物質、例えば、タンパク質、脂質、及び油も、除去困難な汚れ及び残渣を形成しうる。
かかる背景技術に逆って、本発明は完成された。
驚ろくべきことに、汚れを前処理ステップにおいて前処理組成物に接触させ、その後慣用のclean−in−placeプロセスを実施する2ステップ方法を用いて、食品及び飲料の汚れ、そして特に焼かれた食品及び飲料の汚れが表面から除去されうることが発見された。本発明は、clean−in−place手順を用いて、装置、例えば、熱交換器、蒸発器、タンク、その他の産業装置を洗浄する方法に関する。本法は、有機汚れの除去のために、又はより特に、食品又は飲料汚れの除去のために好適である。さらに、本法は、clean−in−place法を用いて、食品及び飲料製造地区から炭水化物及びタンパク質様汚れを除去する洗浄方法に関する。
本発明は、clean−in−place手順とともに前処理ステップを使用する産業装置の洗浄に関する。慣用のclean−in−place溶液及び手順とともに、前処理ステップを使用することは、慣用のプロセス単独よりも、高められた汚れの除去を提供する。さらに、前処理ステップの使用、その後の水による濯ぎは、予想外の量の汚れの除去を提供した。前処理ステップの使用は、伝統的な相容れない化学的性質の使用を許容し、そしてより高い濃度において、慣用の洗浄プログラムにおいて適用される。
前記したように、前処理溶液又は前処理ステップは、慣用のCIP化学的処理に先立って汚れに適用される。前処理溶液の化学的性質は、洗浄されるべき表面上の汚れの除去を促進するように選択される。前処理溶液は、汚れを予め被覆し、そしてその中に浸透して、汚れを柔らかくする。使用される特別な化学的性質は、除去されるべき汚れに基づき選択されうる。使用される化学的性質は、CIP化学と適合性であることができる。いくつかの態様においては、CIP化学と非適合性である前処理をもつことが望ましい;このような場合、前処理は、CIP化学と反応する。非適合性化学の使用は、汚れ除去の有効性をさらに高める。
前処理溶液は、場合により、そして好ましくは、アルカリ又は酸成分を含む。好適なアルカリ源の例は、塩基性塩、アミン、アルカノールアミン、カーボネート、及びシリケートを含む。特に好ましいアルカリ源は、NaOH(水酸化ナトリウム)、KOH(水酸化カリウム)、TEA(トリエタノールアミン)、DEA(ジエタノールアミン)、MEA(モノエタノールアミン)、炭酸ナトリウム、及びモルフォリン、メタケイ酸ナトリウム、及びケイ酸カリウムを含む。
浸透剤は前処理溶液中に存在しうる。浸透剤は、溶液中でアルカリ又は酸源と混合され、又は浸透剤は、アルカリ又は酸源を伴わずに使用されうる。好ましくは、浸透剤は、水混和性である。
さらなる有用なノニオン界面活性剤は、界面活性剤分子の一部としてポリアルキレンオキシドポリマーをもつものを含む。このようなノニオン界面活性剤は、例えば、塩素−、ベンジル−、メチル−、エチル−、プロピル−、ブチル−その他のアルキル−キャップされた、脂肪酸アルコールのポリオキシエチレン及び/又はポリオキシプロピレングリコールエーテル;ポリアルキレンオキシド不含非イオン界面活性剤、例えばアルキルポリグリコシド:ソルビタン及びスクロースエステル及びそれらのエトキシレート;アルコキシル化エチレンジアミン;脂肪酸の、カルボン酸エステル、例えばグリセロールエステル、ポリオキシエチレンエステル、エトキシル化及びグリコールエステル、その他;カルボン酸アミド、例えばジエタノールアミン縮合物、モノアルカノールアミン縮合物、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸アミドその他;並びにエトキシル化アミン及びエーテルアミンその他のノニオン化合物を含む。シリコーン界面活性剤も使用されうる。
前処理溶液は、酸化剤(oxidizing agent or an oxidizer)、例えば、過酸化物又は過酸素酸(ペルオキソ酸peroxyacid)を含む。得られる溶液は、タンパク質及びデンプン汚れに対してひじょうに有効である。さらに、これらの酸素化合物と汚れとの反応は、特にアルカリ源と混合されるとき、汚れに対し及び汚れの中に激しい機械的作用を創り出し、これは、化学的及び漂白作用により引き起こされる除去を超えて、汚れの除去を増強する。
前処理溶液は、好ましくはビルダーを含む。ビルダーは、キレート化剤(キレーター)、封鎖剤(金属イオン封鎖剤)、洗剤ビルダー、その他を含む。ビルダーは、しばしば、組成物又は溶液を安定化させる。ビルダーの例は、ホスホン酸及びホスホン酸塩、リン酸塩、アミノカルボキシレート及びそれらの誘導体、ピロホスフェート、ポリホスフェート、エチレンジアミン及びエチレンジアミン誘導体、ヒドロキシ酸、並びにモノ−、ジ−、及びトリ−カルボキシレート及びそれらの対応の酸を含む。他のビルダーは、アルミノシリケート、ニトロアセテート及びそれらの誘導体、及びそれらの混合物を含む。さらに他のビルダーは、アミノカルボキシレートを含み、これは、エチレンジアミン四酢酸(EDTA)、ヒドロキシエチレンジアミン四酢酸(HEDTA)、及びジエチレントリアミン五酢酸の塩を含む。好ましいビルダーは水可溶性である。
本発明に係る方法は、慣用のCIPプロセスに先立って、洗浄されるべき表面に前処理溶液を適用することに関する。得られるCIPプロセスは、各ステップに関してより少ないステップ及び/又はより短い時間を要求する。例えば、慣用のCIPプロセスは、最初の水濯ぎの後に5つのステップ:汚れを除去するための慣用のアルカリ(NaOH)洗浄、中間濯ぎ、鉱物及びスケールを除去するための慣用の酸洗浄、水濯ぎ、及び慣用の殺菌ステップを含む。このプロセスは、最初の水濯ぎの後に3ステップのプロセス:前処理ステップ、慣用の洗浄、及び水濯ぎで置き替えられることができる。
1の特別な例においては、10wt%NaOHのアルカリ前処理溶液が、ホールディングタンクの内部表面上にスプレーされ、そしてドレイン排出される。約20分後、1%酸性溶液を有するCIPプロセスが開始される。
実施例1
試験手順
固形乳ペレットを、3グラムの乾燥乳粉末と3グラムの汚れを混合することにより調製した。得られた混合物を、30秒間10,000lbで型内で圧縮し、そしてその後、より大きな圧力を加えて、さらに30秒間10,000lbを再び適用した。ペレットをスクリーン内に入れ、そして5分間、以下に記載したように、前処理溶液中に浸漬し、取り出し、そしてその後5分間ドレイン排出した。スクリーンしそして乾燥させたペレットを120°Fで0.5wt%NaOHを有するビーカー内に入れた。(“None(なし)”として示された試験は前処理ステップがなかったことを、そして“None*(なし*)”として示された試験は前処理ステップがなく、かつ、0.5%NaOHよりもむしろ、120°Fで3.0%NaOH洗浄を使用したことを示す。)ビーカーを、350rpmで回転する大きな撹拌棒を伴う49℃(120°F)に設定されたホットプレート上に置いた。30分後、スクリーンとペレットを洗浄溶液から取り出し、そして5回脱イオン水中にゆっくりと浸漬し、そしてそれから取り出し、そしてその後、50℃オーブン内で一夜乾燥させた。試験の結果を以下に示す。
活性NaOHの10wt%溶液を調製し、そして前処理として使用した。前処理は、100,000ppmの水酸化ナトリウム(アルカリ性洗浄液)をもっていた。
前処理溶液であって、1360ppmのEDTA4ナトリウム(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)、3000ppmのグルコン酸ナトリウム(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)、2400ppmのケイ酸カリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)、7000ppmのアルキルポリグリコシド(界面活性剤)、及び4200ppmの水酸化カリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)をもつものを調製した。この前処理2は、3.66%のアルカリ、0.43%のビルダー/キレート化剤、及び0.7%の界面活性剤を有し、4.79%の活性成分を提供した。
41550ppmのポリカルボキシル化アルコールエトキシレート(界面活性剤)、9540ppmのオクチルアミンオキシド(界面活性剤)、25500ppmのアルキルポリグリコシド(界面活性剤)、及び4150ppmの2−エチルヘキサノール・エトキシレート(浸透剤)を有する前処理溶液を調製した。この前処理溶液3は、0.4%の浸透剤、及び7.6%の界面活性剤を有し、8%の活性成分を提供した。
1600ppmの水酸化カリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)、9465ppmの水酸化ナトリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)、18500ppmのポリアクリル酸(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)、及び4625ppmのホスホノブタン3カルボン酸(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)を有する前処理溶液を調製した。この前処理溶液4は、1.10%のアルカリ、及び2.3%のビルダー/キレート化剤を有し、2.9%の活性成分を提供した。
試験手順
片面上に汚れをもつ汚れたステンレススチールの試験パネルを、120℃で4時間オーブン内でパネルの片側上でつぶされたコーンの固形物の混合物を乾燥させることにより調製した。次いで、汚れたパネルを、以下に記載するように洗浄した。
試験(I)について、前処理ステップを用いて、800グラムの前処理溶液5を1000mlビーカー内に入れた。約1グラムの前処理溶液が汚れたパネルに接し、そして残存していたことが測定された。前処理中に短時間浸漬した後、パネルを周囲温度で5分間、吊した。次いで乾燥パネルを、汚れた側を下向きにして40℃の水750gを入れた1000mlビーカー内に入れた。30分後、パネルを5回、脱イオン水中にゆっくり沈め、そして取り出し、そしてその後パネルを乾燥させた。試験の結果を以下に示す。
試験(III)について、試験パネルは前処理されなかったが、40℃の水750g中で洗浄された。
400ppmのEDTA四ナトリウム(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)、4500ppmのポリリン酸3カリウム(ビルダー及び/又はキレート化剤)、3852ppmの水酸化カリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)、3000ppmのポリエチレンフェノールエーテルホスフェート(界面活性剤)、1000ppmのメタケイ酸ナトリウム(アルカリ洗浄液)、9000ppmのエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル(界面活性剤)、及び2400ppmのナトリウムキシレンスルホネート(界面活性剤)を有する前処理溶液を調製した。この前処理5は、0.5%のアルカリ、0.5%のビルダー/キレート化剤、0.5%界面活性剤、及び0.9%の浸透剤を有し、2.4%の活性成分を提供した。
実施例3は、コーンビール希薄残液シロップ(corn beer thin stillage syrup)の除去に対する、さまざまな異なる前処理及び主洗浄化学の有効性を試験した。この試験のために、コーンビール希薄残液シロップ汚れを、3インチ掛ける5インチのステンレススチールのスクリーンを計量することにより調製した。85%コーンビール希薄残液シロップと15%脱イオン水の混合物を調製し、そしてスクリーンを混合物中に浸し、そして10分間過剰のものを放置してドレイン除去した。次いで、スクリーンを125℃で2時間焼いた。スクリーンを再び浸し、そして合計3時間さらに2回焼いた。最終的なスクリーンを再び計量した。洗浄のために、表1中の化学洗浄溶液1000mLを180°Fに加熱した。スクリーンを洗浄溶液中に挿入した。撹拌棒を洗浄溶液中に入れ、そして完全な試験について(30分間)400rpmに設定した。30分後、スクリーンを除去し、そして計量前に放置して乾燥させた。パーセント汚れ除去を以下の式を用いて計算した:
実施例4は、コーンビール希薄残液シロップを除去する各種酸化剤の能力を比較した。本実施例のために、スクリーンを、コーンビール希薄残液シロップで汚し、そして実施例3に記載したように洗浄した。表2は、汚れ除去に対する各種酸化剤の影響を示す。
実施例5は、水酸化ナトリウムのみを用いた場合に比較して、本発明に係る前処理溶液を用いてスクリーンを洗浄するために要した時間量を比較した。本実施例は、コーンビール希薄残液シロップと全乳汚れに対する洗浄時間を試験した。実施例3に記載したように、コーンビール希薄残液シロップ汚れを調製し、そして洗浄した。
実施例6は、全乳汚れに対する各種の異なる前処理、及び主洗浄化学の有効性を試験した。本試験のために、実施例5に記載したように、全乳汚れを調製し、そして洗浄した。表5は、各種組合せのパーセント除去を示す。
Claims (12)
- CIPプロセスを用いて産業装置から汚れを洗浄する方法であって、以下のステップ:
(a)汚れに前処理溶液を適用し、ここで該溶液は、少なくとも0.10wt%の活性成分を含み、該活性成分は、界面活性浸透剤と、過酸化水素、過酸素化合物、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選ばれる酸化剤とを含み;
(b)前記前処理後に前記装置に第2溶液を再循環させ、ここで該第2溶液は希釈洗剤を含み;そして
(c)前記装置を濯ぐ;
を含む前記方法。 - 前記前処理溶液は、0.10〜1.5wt%の酸をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記前処理溶液は、0.01〜1wt%の酸化剤をさらに含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記酸化剤は過酸化物である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記前処理溶液は、0.4〜10wt%の浸透剤を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記前処理溶液は、0.25〜1.5wt%の酸、及び0.4〜8wt%の浸透剤を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記前処理溶液は、0.3〜10wt%のアルカリ性源を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記前処理溶液が、以下の:
(a)0.25〜1.5wt%の、リン酸、硝酸、硫酸、乳酸、酢酸、ヒドロキシ酢酸、及びクエン酸の内の少なくとも1つ;及び
(b)0.01〜1wt%の、過酸素化合物である酸化剤;
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記酸化剤が0.05〜0.5wt%のレベルで存在する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 以下のステップ:
(a)0.25〜1.5wt%の酸、及び0.01〜1wt%の酸化剤を含む前処理溶液を適用し;そして
(b)前記前処理溶液の後に装置にアルカリ性第2溶液を再循環させる;
