Abstract
【解決手段】駆動用トランジスタ11bを、オフ動作する閾値電圧が負電圧である無機酸化膜薄膜トランジスタから構成し、駆動用トランジスタ11bのソース端子Sと容量素子11cの端子とを所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源線17に接続する。

本発明の第2の画素回路は、発光素子と、該発光素子のアノード端子にソース端子が接続され、発光素子に駆動電流を流す駆動用トランジスタと、該駆動用トランジスタのゲート端子に接続される容量素子と、該容量素子の上記ゲート端子側の一方の端子と所望のプログラム信号が流されるデータ線との間に接続されるスイッチング用トランジスタとを備えた画素回路において、駆動用トランジスタが、オフ動作する閾値電圧が負電圧である無機酸化膜薄膜トランジスタから構成され、発光素子のカソード端子と容量素子の他方の端子とが所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源に接続されていることを特徴とする。

Vcs=Vprg−VB=VGS
となる。
Vprg≧0v
なので、容量素子11cに設定可能な電圧値Vcsの最小電圧値Vcsminは、
Vcsmin=−VBとなる。
VB≧−VTH
となるように設定する必要がある。
Vscan(off)≦VTH
Vscan(on)≧Vprgmax+VTH
に設定する必要があり、走査信号は負電圧から正電圧までの振幅が必要となる。なお、Vprgmaxは、有機EL発光素子11aの最大輝度に応じたプログラム信号の電圧値である。
なお、Vfは、駆動用トランジスタ11bのゲート−ソース間電圧VGSの場合における有機EL発光素子11aの順方向電圧降下値である。

Claims (4)
- 発光素子と、該発光素子のカソード端子にドレイン端子が接続され、前記発光素子に駆動電流を流す駆動用トランジスタと、該駆動用トランジスタのゲート端子に接続される容量素子と、該容量素子の前記ゲート端子側の一方の端子と所望のプログラム信号が流されるデータ線との間に接続されるスイッチング用トランジスタとを備えた画素回路において、
前記駆動用トランジスタが、オフ動作する閾値電圧が負電圧である無機酸化膜薄膜トランジスタから構成され、
前記駆動用トランジスタのソース端子と前記容量素子の他方の端子とが所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源に接続されていることを特徴とする画素回路。 - 請求項1記載の画素回路が多数配列されたアクティブマトリクス基板と、
前記プログラム信号を供給するデータ駆動回路と、
前記駆動用トランジスタのソース端子と前記容量素子の他方の端子とに所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源とを備え、
前記閾値電圧VTH、前記共通電圧の電圧値VB、前記プログラム信号の電圧値Vprgおよび所望の設定すべき前記駆動用トランジスタのゲート−ソース間電圧VGSが、下式(1)および(2)を満たす関係となるように前記共通電圧の電圧値VB、前記プログラム信号の電圧値Vprgが設定されていることを特徴とする表示装置。

Vprg=VGS−VB ・・・ (2) - 発光素子と、該発光素子のアノード端子にソース端子が接続され、前記発光素子に駆動電流を流す駆動用トランジスタと、該駆動用トランジスタのゲート端子に接続される容量素子と、該容量素子の前記ゲート端子側の一方の端子と所望のプログラム信号が流されるデータ線との間に接続されるスイッチング用トランジスタとを備えた画素回路において、
前記駆動用トランジスタが、オフ動作する閾値電圧が負電圧である無機酸化膜薄膜トランジスタから構成され、
前記発光素子のカソード端子と前記容量素子の他方の端子とが所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源に接続されていることを特徴とする画素回路。 - 請求項3記載の画素回路が多数配列されたアクティブマトリクス基板と、
前記プログラム信号を供給するデータ駆動回路と、
前記駆動用トランジスタのソース端子と前記容量素子の他方の端子とに所定の共通電圧を供給する共通電源とを備え、
前記閾値電圧VTH、前記共通電圧の電圧値VB、前記プログラム信号の電圧値Vprg、所望の設定すべき前記駆動用トランジスタのゲート−ソース間電圧VGSおよび前記駆動用トランジスタのゲート−ソース間電圧VGS時の前記発光素子の順方向電圧降下値Vfが、下式(3)および(4)を満たす関係となるように前記共通電圧の電圧値VB、前記プログラム信号の電圧値Vprgが設定されていることを特徴とする表示装置。
