Abstract
【解決手段】フロー毎にキューイングする装置であり、複数の待ち行列に区分けされた所定サイズのバッファと、所定速度に従って各バッファからパケットを除去し、ネットワークを介して前記パケットを伝送するスケジューラと、受信パケットを受信することができ、待ち行列が使用可能である場合、パケットを待ち行列に入力することができるバッファ内の待ち行列の使用可能性を決定するためのコントロールデバイスとからなり、コントロールデバイスは更に、最長待ち行列ファーストスキームに従って待ち行列を選択し、待ち行列が使用可能でない場合、前記受信パケットの入力を可能にするために前記選択された待ち行列からパケットをドロッピングし、これにより、リンクによる公平性を高め、パケットスループットを高める。

Description
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、(1)長ラウンドトリップ時間を伴う接続に対するTCPの固有の不公平性を軽減する、(2)異なるTCPバージョンを用いる接続がボトルネックリンクを共用する場合、分離性を与える、(3)一層侵略的なトラヒックソース、不品行なユーザ又はリバースパス輻輳の場合のその他のTCP接続からの保護性を与える、(4)両方向トラヒックの存在下におけるACK圧縮作用を軽減する、(5)ACK損失(トラヒックのバーストを起こす)を経験するユーザに顕著な悪影響を及ぼすその他の接続から保護する、及び(6)全体的なリンク利用率を低下させることなく、“欲張り”接続を伴うボトルネックを共用する双方向接続に対する低待ち時間を与える、などのようなTCPの種々の目標を達成することができる。

Claims (10)
- TCP接続の性能を改善する方法であって、
所定サイズのバッファを複数の待ち行列に区分けするステップであって、各待ち行列がTCP接続に関連し、各待ち行列は、情報パケットを受信して一時的に格納するための占有割当てbiが割り当てられるとともに、該待ち行列からパケットを除去して対応する該TCP接続を介して該パケットを送信するためのスケジューラによってサービスされる、ステップ、
パケットが到着すると、
該バッファが満杯であるかを判定するステップ、
該バッファが満杯でない場合、該パケットが関連するTCP接続を特定し、特定された該TCP接続に関連する待ち行列に該パケットを入力する、ステップ、及び
該バッファが満杯である場合、該パケットの入力を収容するために、待ち行列を選択して該選択された待ち行列からパケットを解放する、待ち行列選択ステップ
からなる方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法であって、さらに、
パケット到着時又は離脱時の各待ち行列の現在の待ち行列長qiをトラッキングするステップを備える方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、前記バッファが満杯であるかを判定するステップが、
該バッファの現在の残りの利用可能なスペースを指定するカウンタをチェックするステップ
からなる方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法であって、さらに、
該特定されたTCP接続に関連する待ち行列が完全に満たされているときは、完全に満たされていない1以上の待ち行列からスペースを一時的に借りるステップ
を備える方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、該選択された待ち行列から解放されるパケットが該選択された待ち行列中にある最も古いパケットである方法。
- 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、該待ち行列選択ステップが、
各待ち行列について現在の割当てbiを設定するステップ、
各待ち行列の現在の待ち行列長qiを取得するステップ、
各待ち行列について、該現在の待ち行列長qiと該現在の割当てbiの差を計算するステップ、及び
計算された該差の最大値を有する待ち行列を選択するステップ
を含む方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、該待ち行列選択ステップが、
各待ち行列について現在の割当てbiを設定するステップ、
待ち行列の現在の待ち行列長qiが当該待ち行列の現在の割当てbiを超えている待ち行列について1以上の待ち行列のセットを計算するステップ、及び
該セットからランダムに待ち行列を選択するステップ
を含む方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、該スケジューラが異なる所定のレートに従って各待ち行列からパケットを除去し、該待ち行列選択ステップが、
各待ち行列について、該待ち行列の現在の待ち行列長qi及び該待ち行列の所定のサービスレートから、該待ち行列に格納されたパケットによって経験されるキューイング遅延を計算するステップ、及び
最長のキューイング遅延を経験する待ち行列を選択するステップ
を含む方法。 - 請求項1記載のTCP接続の性能を改善する方法において、該待ち行列選択ステップが、
1以上のビンを設定するステップであって、各ビンが所定の長さの1以上の待ち行列に関連している、ステップ、及び
最も長い1以上の待ち行列に関連するビンから待ち行列をランダムに選ぶステップ
を含む方法。 - TCP/IPネットワークにおいて情報パケットを複数のソースから単一の通信リンクへ伝送するルータであって、
複数の待ち行列に区分けされた所定サイズのバッファであって、各待ち行列がTCP接続に関連し、各待ち行列には、情報パケットを受信して一時的に格納するための占有割当てbiが割り当てられる、バッファ、
各待ち行列からパケットを受信し、対応する該TCP接続を介して該パケットを送信するためのスケジューラ、及び
該バッファが満杯かを判定し、該パケットが関連づけられたTCP接続を特定し、該バッファが満杯でない場合には該特定されたTCP接続に関連する待ち行列に該パケットを入力し、該バッファが満杯である場合には該パケットの入力を収容するために待ち行列を選択して該選択された待ち行列からパケットを解放するためのコントローラ
からなるルータ。
