Abstract
Description
タイ層前駆物質をバッキングの少なくとも一部の上に配置する工程であって、前記タイ層前駆物質が、少なくとも1つの多官能性アジリジンと、少なくとも1つの酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと、少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有する少なくとも1つのオリゴマーとを含む等方性組成物を含み、前記オリゴマーの単独重合が、50℃より低いガラス転移温度を有するポリマーをもたらす工程と、
前記タイ層前駆物質を少なくとも部分的に重合させる工程と、
重合性メイク樹脂前駆物質を、少なくとも部分的に重合されたタイ層前駆物質上に配置する工程と、
研磨粒子を前記メイク樹脂前駆物質に少なくとも部分的に埋め込む工程と、
前記メイク樹脂前駆物質を少なくとも部分的に重合させる工程とを含む、被覆研磨物品の製造方法を提供する。
タイ層前駆物質をバッキングの少なくとも一部の上に配置する工程であって、前記タイ層前駆物質が、少なくとも1つの多官能性アジリジンと、少なくとも1つの酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと、少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有する少なくとも1つのオリゴマーとを含む等方性組成物を含み、前記オリゴマーの単独重合が、50℃より低いガラス転移温度を有するポリマーをもたらす工程と、
前記タイ層前駆物質を少なくとも部分的に重合させる工程と、
重合性バインダー前駆物質と研磨粒子とを含むスラリーを、少なくとも部分的に重合されたタイ層前駆物質上に配置する工程と、
前記バインダー前駆物質を少なくとも部分的に重合させる工程とを含む、被覆研磨物品の製造方法を提供する。
試験される被覆研磨物品を、幅約8cm×長さ25cmの試験片に変換する。木の板(17.8cm×7.6cm×0.6cm)の長さの2分の1を以下に記載された積層用接着剤1(LA1)または積層用接着剤2(LA2)のどちらかでコーティングする。LA1に対して、接着剤をホットメルトグルーガン(3Mカンパニー製の商品名「ポリガンIIホットメルトアプリケーター(POLYGUN II HOT MELT APPLICATOR)」として市販されている)で適用する。LA2に対して、接着剤を、2インチ(5.1cm)のペイントブラシでブラッシングすることによって手で適用した。被覆研磨物品の全幅、しかし長さの最初の15cmだけを、研磨粒子を支持する面上に積層用接着剤でコーティングする。積層用接着剤を支持しない被覆研磨物品の10cmが板から突き出るように、研磨粒子を支持する被覆研磨物品の面が積層用接着剤コーティングを含有する板の面に付着される。板と被覆研磨物品とが十分に結合されるように圧力が適用される。LA2に対して、結合された板および被覆研磨物品集成体を約12時間25℃においておよび12時間50℃において硬化する。
酸性のフリーラジカル重合性モノマーを20℃において少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有するオリゴマーに添加し、その後に開始剤を添加する。機械撹拌機を用いて混合物を均質になるまで攪拌し、次いで2時間、炉内で50℃において加熱する。混合物を炉から除去した後、多官能性アジリジンを添加し、多官能性アジリジンが溶解されるまで10分間攪拌を続け、等方性タイ層前駆物質組成物を生じさせる。
調製されたばかりの、暖かいタイ層前駆物質組成物を、フロリダ州、ポンパノビーチのポール・N・ガードナー・カンパニーから入手できる幅4インチ(1.6cm)のハンドヘルドコーティングナイフを用いて、記載したように、処理されたバッキングに適用する。ナイフ間隔を225マイクロメートルに設定する。次に、得られたタイ層前駆物質のコーティングされたバッキングを、761ワット/平方インチ(118W/cm2)および16.4フィート/分(5m/分)において「フュージョン D」電球を用いて、メリーランド州、ゲイサーズバーグのフュージョンUVシステムズから得られた、商品名「UVプロセッサ」として得られた紫外線処理装置を一度通過させて照射し、次いで10〜20分間120℃において加熱して、タイ層が固定されたバッキングをもたらす。得られたタイ層の公称コーティング重量は110グラム/m2である。
1ガロン(4L)のプラスチック容器に1917gのACR1、19gのPI1、1738gのF2、2235のMN2、74gのA1および17gのA2を入れた。樹脂を1時間25℃において機械的に攪拌した。
樹脂および鉱物の粉末コートを、米国特許出願公開第20040018802号明細書(ウェリィガン(Welygan)ら)の実施例1に記載されているように調製した。
1ガロン(4L)のプラスチック容器に544gのRPR1および442gのF1を入れた。反応物を30分間、オーバーヘッド撹拌機で攪拌し、次いで1キログラムの全重量に達するように水で希釈した。
1ガロン(4L)のプラスチック容器に425gのACR1、11gのPI2および726gのF1を入れ、1時間、25℃において機械的に攪拌した。
以下の手順によって研磨層をタイ層に結合する。
表1に示されるように、タイ層前駆物質を、タイ層前駆物質の一般的な調製方法によって調製した。次に、タイ層前駆物質を、記載されたバッキング上にコーティングし、タイ層を有するバッキングの一般的な作製方法によって、硬化してタイ層を形成した。次に、研磨層をタイ−コート層に適用した。得られた被覆研磨物品に90°剥離接着力試験を実施した。表1において、被覆研磨材は、被覆研磨材の範囲内で不良になった。
Claims (37)
- 主面を有するバッキングと、前記主面の少なくとも一部に固定されたタイ層と、前記タイ層の少なくとも一部に固定され、研磨粒子と少なくとも1つのバインダー樹脂とを含む研磨層と、を含む被覆研磨物品であって、前記タイ層が、少なくとも1つの多官能性アジリジンと、少なくとも1つの酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと、少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有する少なくとも1つのオリゴマーとを含む等方性重合性組成物を少なくとも部分的に重合させることによって作製可能であり、前記オリゴマーの単独重合が、50℃より低いガラス転移温度を有するポリマーをもたらす、被覆研磨物品。
- 前記等方性重合性組成物が硬化剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記硬化剤が少なくとも1つのフリーラジカル光開始剤を含む、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記硬化剤が少なくとも1つのフリーラジカル熱開始剤を含む、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性基を有するオリゴマーとの全重量に対して、多官能性アジリジンの量が0.5〜10パーセントの範囲であり、酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーの量が1〜45パーセントの範囲である、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性基を有するオリゴマーとの全重量に対して、多官能性アジリジンの量が2〜4パーセントの範囲であり、酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーの量が2〜20パーセントの範囲である、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記多官能性アジリジンが、トリメチロールプロパントリス[3−アジリジニルプロピオネート]、トリメチロールプロパントリス[3(2−メチル−アジリジニル)−プロピオネート]、トリメチロールプロパントリス[2−アジリジニルブチラート]、トリス(1−アジリジニル)ホスフィンオキシド、トリス(2−メチル−1アジリジニル)ホスフィンオキシド、ペンタエリトリトールトリス−3−(1−アジリジニルプロピオネート)、ペンタエリトリトールテトラキス−3−(1−アジリジニルプロピオネート)、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨層が、前記研磨粒子が埋め込まれた、第1のバインダー樹脂を含むメイク層と、前記メイク層と前記研磨粒子とに固定された第2のバインダー樹脂を含むサイズ層とを含む、請求項7に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーが、(メタ)アクリル酸、マレイン酸、マレイン酸のモノアルキルエステル、フマル酸、フマル酸のモノアルキルエステル、イタコン酸、イソクロトン酸、クロトン酸、シトラコン酸、およびベータ−カルボキシエチルアクリレート、2−スルホエチルメタクリレート、スチレンスルホン酸、および2−アクリルアミド−2−メチルプロパンスルホン酸、ビニルホスホン酸、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有する前記オリゴマーが、脂肪族および芳香族ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、ポリブタジエン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、アクリル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、ポリエーテル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、脂肪族および芳香族ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、エポキシ(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨層が、少なくとも1つのフリーラジカル重合性モノマー、フリーラジカル重合性オリゴマー、エポキシ樹脂、フェノール樹脂、メラミン−ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、アミノプラスト樹脂、シアネート樹脂、またはそれらの組合せを含む成分から作製可能である、請求項1に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨層が、前記研磨粒子が埋め込まれた、第1のバインダー樹脂を含むメイク層と、前記メイク層と前記研磨粒子とに固定された第2のバインダー樹脂を含むサイズ層とを含む、請求項1に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨層がスーパーサイズをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記バッキングが、プレサイズ、バックサイズ、サブサイズ、および含浸剤からなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの処理剤を含む処理されたバッキングを含む、請求項12に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨粒子が、前記バインダー樹脂中に分散される、請求項1に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記等方性重合性組成物が硬化剤をさらに含む、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記硬化剤が少なくとも1つのフリーラジカル光開始剤を含む、請求項16に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記硬化剤が少なくとも1つのフリーラジカル熱開始剤を含む、請求項16に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーと少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性基を有するオリゴマーとの全重量に対して、多官能性アジリジンの量が0.5〜10パーセントの範囲であり、酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーの量が1〜45パーセントの範囲である、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。

- 前記多官能性アジリジンが、トリメチロールプロパントリス[3−アジリジニルプロピオネート]、トリメチロールプロパントリス[3(2−メチル−アジリジニル)−プロピオネート]、トリメチロールプロパントリス[2−アジリジニルブチラート]、トリス(1−アジリジニル)ホスフィンオキシド、トリス(2−メチル−1アジリジニル)ホスフィンオキシド、ペンタエリトリトールトリス−3−(1−アジリジニルプロピオネート)、ペンタエリトリトールテトラキス−3−(1−アジリジニルプロピオネート)、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記酸性フリーラジカル重合性モノマーが、(メタ)アクリル酸、マレイン酸、マレイン酸のモノアルキルエステル、フマル酸、フマル酸のモノアルキルエステル、イタコン酸、イソクロトン酸、クロトン酸、シトラコン酸、およびベータ−カルボキシエチルアクリレート、2−スルホエチルメタクリレート、スチレンスルホン酸、および2−アクリルアミド−2−メチルプロパンスルホン酸、ビニルホスホン酸、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 少なくとも2つのフリーラジカル重合性側基を有する前記オリゴマーが、脂肪族および芳香族ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、ポリブタジエン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、アクリル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、ポリエーテル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、脂肪族および芳香族ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、エポキシ(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、およびそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記バッキングが、プレサイズ、バックサイズ、またはサブサイズの少なくとも1つを含む処理されたバッキングである、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記研磨層が、精密造形された研磨複合材を含む、請求項15に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記バッキングがポリマーフィルムを含む、請求項25に記載の被覆研磨物品。
- 前記組成物が硬化剤をさらに含む、請求項25に記載の被覆研磨物品。
