Abstract
【解決手段】 基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある潤滑剤組成物が開示されている。

Description
において燃料経済性を増加させる方法が提供される。
(1)炭化水素置換基、すなわち脂肪族(例えば、アルキルまたはアルケニル)、脂環式(例えば、シクロアルキル、シクロアルケニル)置換基および芳香族、脂肪族および脂環式で置換された芳香族置換基、ならびに環が分子のもう一つの部分によって完結する(例えば、2つの置換基が一緒になって脂環式基を形成する)環状置換基;
(2)置換炭化水素置換基、すなわち本発明の文脈において、主たる炭化水素置換基を変えない非炭化水素基(例えば、ハロ(特に、クロロおよびフロロ)、ヒドロキシ、アルコキシ、メルカプト、アルキルメルカプト、ニトロ、ニトロソおよびスルホキシ)を含有する置換基;
(3)ヘテロ置換基、すなわち、本発明の文脈において、主として炭化水素の性格を有する一方で、炭素原子から構成される環または鎖中に炭素以外を含有する置換基
を含む。ヘテロ原子は、イオウ、酸素、窒素を含み、ピリジル、フリル、チエニルおよびイミダゾリルなどの置換基を網羅する。一般に、ヒドロカルビル基中の10個の炭素原子ごとに2個以下、例えば1個以下の非炭化水素置換基が存在し;典型的には、ヒドロカルビル基中には非炭化水素置換基は存在しない。

シャー・トロプシュ合成炭化水素は、フィッシャー・トロプシュ触媒を用いてH2とCOを含有する合成ガスから製造可能である。基油として有用であるためには、このような炭化水素は、通常、更なる処理を必要とする。例えば、炭化水素は、米国特許第6,103,099号または第6,180,575号で開示されている方法を用いて水素異性化可能であり;米国特許第4,943,672号または第6,096,940号で開示されている方法を用いて水素化分解および水素異性化可能であり;米国特許第5,882,505号で開示されている方法を用いて脱ワックス可能であり;もしくは米国特許第6,013,171号;第6,080,301号;または第6,165,949号で開示されている方法を用いて水素化異性化および脱ワックス可能である。

グループIIもしくはIII基油が90%以上の飽和成分、0.03%未満のイオウを含み、約80から約120もしくはそれ以上の粘度指数を有するということは既知である。しかしながら、すべてのグループIIもしくはIII基油が同一の動力伝達性を有するとは限らない。表1に示すように、組成物中のパラフィン、シクロパラフィンおよび芳香族のタイプを求めるために、開示が参照により組み込まれている、procedure in Analytical Chemistry,64:2227(1992)にしたがって、種々のグループIIおよびIII基油を含む完全配合潤滑剤組成物を分析した。
この実施例においては、いくつかの異なるグループIIおよびII+基油を11.5重量%のDIパッケージ(Afton Chemical Corp.により提供されるHiTEC(登録商標)1136)、8.6重量%のエチレン−プロピレンオレフィンコポ
リマー粘度指数向上剤(Chevron Oroniteにより提供されているParatone(登録商標)8021)、および0.5重量%のポリメタクリレート流動点降下剤(RohMaxにより提供されているViscoplex(登録商標)1−440)とブレンドすることにより、完全調合された潤滑剤組成物を作製した。このDIパッケージは、カルシウム過塩基性清浄剤、亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート、アミン非含有有機摩擦変性剤、モリブデン含有摩擦変性剤、ジフェニルアミン酸化防止剤、硫化オレフィン酸化防止剤、発泡防止剤、およびプロセスオイルを含むものであった。
例えば「酸化防止剤」の指示は2つ以上の異なる酸化防止剤を含む。この明細書中で使用される場合、用語「含む」およびこの文法的な変形物は、非限定的であるように意図され、リスト中の項目を掲げることが掲げられた項目と置換または付加可能な他の同様な項目を排除することにならない。
1.基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある潤滑剤組成物。
2.基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約50から約300の範囲にある、上記1に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
3.基油が約23未満の平均パラフィン炭素数を更に含んでなる、上記1に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
4.酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、摩擦変成剤、耐磨耗剤、極圧添加剤、清浄剤、分散剤、発泡防止剤、流動点降下剤、脱臭剤、シール膨潤剤、脱乳化剤、着色剤および流動化剤からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの添加物を含む清浄剤防止剤パッケージを更に含んでなる、上記1に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
5.清浄剤が過塩基性フェネート、過塩基性サリシレート、過塩基性スルホネート、過塩基性カルボキシレートおよびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、上記3に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
6.粘度指数向上剤が窒素含有ポリマー型粘度指数向上剤分散剤、エステル含有ポリマー型粘度指数向上剤分散剤および非分散性粘度指数向上剤からなる群から選択される、上記3に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
7.粘度指数向上剤がエチレンと、プロピレン、1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、1−ヘキセン、1−ヘプテン、1−オクテン、1−ノネン、1−デセンおよびスチレンからなる群から選択されるα−オレフィンのコポリマーである、上記3に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
8.流動点降下剤がポリメタアクリレート、ポリアクリルアミド、ハロパラフィンワックスと芳香族化合物の縮合生成物、ビニルカルボキシレートポリマーならびにジアルキルフマレート、脂肪酸のビニルエステルおよびアルキルビニルエーテルのターポリマーからなる群から選択される、上記3に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
9.リン含有化合物、灰含有清浄剤、無灰清浄剤、過塩基性清浄剤、補助流動点降下剤、補助粘度指数向上剤、灰含有摩擦変性剤、無灰摩擦変性剤、窒素含有摩擦変性剤、窒素非含有摩擦変性剤、エステル化摩擦変性剤、補助極圧添加剤、防錆剤、補助酸化防止剤、補助腐食防止剤、補助発泡防止剤、チタン化合物、チタン錯体、有機可溶性モリブデン化合物、有機可溶性モリブデン錯体、ホウ素含有化合物およびホウ素含有錯体からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの添加物を更に含んでなる、上記1に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
10.基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある組成物を機械に供給することを含んでなる、機械においてトルクを改善する方法。
11.基油が鉱油、合成油およびこれらの混合物である、上記10に記載の方法。
12.基油がポリアルファオレフィンである、上記10に記載の方法。
13.基油がグループII+基油である、上記10に記載の方法。
14.基油がグループIII基油である、上記10に記載の方法。
15.もう一つの基油と比較して低下した高温高せん断粘度を有する基油を含む組成物を機械に供給することを含んでなる、機械においてトルクを改善する方法。
16.基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約
400の範囲にある組成物を車両に供給することを含んでなる、車両において燃料経済性を増加させる方法。
17.基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある組成物を表面に供給することを含んでなる、表面間の流体の薄膜摩擦を低下させる方法。
18.上記1に記載の潤滑剤組成物により潤滑されているエンジン、トランスミッションまたはギアセット。
Claims (6)
- 基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある潤滑剤組成物。
- 基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある組成物を機械に供給することを含んでなる、機械においてトルクを改善する方法。
- もう一つの基油と比較して低下した高温高せん断粘度を有する基油を含む組成物を機械に供給することを含んでなる、機械においてトルクを改善する方法。
- 基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある組成物を車両に供給することを含んでなる、車両において燃料経済性を増加させる方法。
- 基油を含み、基油中の直鎖パラフィンに対するイソパラフィンの比が約30から約400の範囲にある組成物を表面に供給することを含んでなる、表面間の流体の薄膜摩擦を低下させる方法。
- 請求項1に記載の潤滑剤組成物により潤滑されているエンジン、トランスミッションまたはギアセット。
