Abstract
モジュラー式通信コネクターのジャック内でクロストーク補償を行うための装置及び方法は、ジャック接触子に接続され、ネットワークケーブルへの接続部に接続されたフレキシブル印刷回路基板を備える。フレキシブル印刷回路基板は、クロストーク補償を提供するため1つ以上のカップリングに配列された伝導性トレース経路を備える。

Description
領域Bは、NEXT補償領域である。
領域Fは、NEXTクロストーク領域をIDCソケット32に接続するニュートラル領域である。
NEXT補償領域の総補償カップリングの大きさは、特性プラグのクロストークカップリングの2倍に領域Aの総カップリングの2倍を加えた値よりも僅かに小さい。
特性プラグのカップリングの有効中心とNEXT補償領域の中心との間の位相角度変化は、NEXTクロストーク領域の中心とNEXT補償領域の中心との間の位相角度変化におおよそ等しい。
上記の結果は、前方NEXTが逆NEXTに等しいということである。
図6に示されるように対1,2及び7,8のための回路経路は、これらの対の間の補償を達成することができる一つの方法を示している。これらの他の対のための要求された補償は、対3、6から対4、5よりも遥かに容易に達成される。

領域Bは、NEXT補償領域である。図示のように、領域Bは、オプションの可変コンデンサ250(図32を参照して後述される)を備える。
図31において領域Eの下方のトレース経路は、NEXTクロストーク領域(領域E)をIDCソケットに接続するニュートラル領域を構成する。
Claims (46)
- ジャック及びプラグを備えるモジュラー式通信コネクターのためのクロストーク補償装置であって、
前記ジャックは、金属片持ち梁から構成されたジャック接触子を有し、
前記装置は、前記ジャック接触子が設置された前記プラグとのインターフェースを画成するところとは略反対側に隣接して前記ジャック接触子に第1の端部で機械的且つ電気的に接続されたフレキシブル印刷回路を備え、該フレキシブル印刷回路は、ネットワークケーブルコネクターに第2の端部で機械的且つ電気的に接続され、前記ジャック接触子と前記コネクターとの間に少なくとも2つの対のためのネットワーク経路を提供する、クロストーク補償装置。 - 前記フレキシブル印刷回路は、その第2の端部で剛性印刷回路基板となるか又は剛性印刷回路基板に取り付けられている、請求項1に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記ネットワーク経路は、クロストーク補償を提供する伝導性トレース経路を備え、該伝導性トレース経路は、近傍端部(NEXT)補償領域と、近傍端部(NEXT)クロストーク領域と、前記ジャック接触子と前記NEXT補償領域との間の第1の遷移領域と、前記NEXT補償領域と前記NEXTクロストーク領域との間の第2の遷移領域とを備える、請求項1に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 第1の周波数において、前記NEXTクロストーク領域は、特性プラグのものにほぼ等しい、連係された総クロストークカップリングの大きさを有する、請求項3に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記第1の周波数において、前記NEXT補償領域は、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域のカップリングと特性プラグのカップリングとの加算値の2倍よりも僅かに小さい総補償カップリングの大きさを有する、請求項4に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域、前記NEXTクロストーク領域、及び、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域は、各々分布カップリングを持ち、事実上遠隔カップリングを持っていない、請求項5に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 第1の周波数において、設置された特性プラグのカップリングの有効中心と、NEXT補償領域の中心との間の第1の位相角度変化は、NEXTクロストーク領域の中心とNEXT補償領域の中心との間の第2の位相角度変化にほぼ等しい、請求項6に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 合成した前方NEXTは、逆NEXTに実質的に等しい、請求項7に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域は、周波数が増大するとき減少する大きさを有する遠隔補償カップリングを備える、請求項6に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域の総誘導性カップリングは、特性プラグ及び前記ジャックの総誘導性カップリングからNEXT補償領域の誘導性カップリングを減算した値にほぼ等しい、請求項3に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 比較的低い遠方端部クロストーク(FEXT)を生じさせる、請求項10に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域は、前記NEXTクロストーク領域と長さがほぼ等しい、請求項3に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記ジャック接触子は、連係する長さ及び幅を各々有し、該幅は該長さよりも小さく、前記ジャック接触子は、前記プラグが前記ジャック内に設置されたとき信号電流をそれらの長さの下方にまで伝達しない、請求項1に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記コネクターの少なくとも2つは、交差されたステムを有する、請求項1に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記フレキシブル印刷回路は、該フレキシブル印刷回路が前記ジャック接触子に接続されたところで前記ジャック接触子から分岐している、請求項1に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- ジャック及びプラグを備えるモジュラー式通信コネクターのためのクロストーク補償装置であって、
前記ジャックは、金属片持ち梁から構成されたジャック接触子を有し、
前記装置は、前記ジャック接触子が設置された前記プラグとのインターフェースを画成するところとは略反対側に隣接して前記ジャック接触子に可撓性部材により第1の端部で機械的且つ電気的に接続された回路基板を備え、該回路基板は、ネットワークケーブルコネクターに第2の端部で機械的且つ電気的に接続され、これによって前記ジャック接触子と前記コネクターとの間に少なくとも2つの対のためのネットワーク経路を提供する、クロストーク補償装置。 - 前記回路基板は、前記可撓性部材が前記ジャック接触子に接続されるところで前記ジャック接触子から分岐している、請求項16に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記回路基板は、フレキシブル印刷回路である、請求項16に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記フレキシブル印刷回路は、その第2の端部で剛性印刷回路基板となるか又は剛性印刷回路基板に取り付けられている、請求項18に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記ネットワーク経路は、クロストーク補償を提供する伝導性トレース経路を備え、該伝導性トレース経路は、近傍端部(NEXT)補償領域と、近傍端部(NEXT)クロストーク領域と、前記ジャック接触子と前記NEXT補償領域との間の第1の遷移領域と、前記NEXT補償領域と前記NEXTクロストーク領域との間の第2の遷移領域とを備える、請求項18に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 第1の周波数において、前記NEXTクロストーク領域は、特性プラグのものにほぼ等しい、連係された総クロストークカップリングの大きさを有する、請求項20に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記第1の周波数において、前記NEXT補償領域は、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域のカップリングと特性プラグのカップリングとの加算値の2倍よりも僅かに小さい総補償カップリングの大きさを有する、請求項21に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域、前記NEXTクロストーク領域、及び、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域は、各々分布カップリングを持ち、事実上遠隔カップリングを持っていない、請求項22に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 第1の周波数において、設置された特性プラグのカップリングの有効中心と、NEXT補償領域の中心との間の第1の位相角度変化は、NEXTクロストーク領域の中心とNEXT補償領域の中心との間の第2の位相角度変化にほぼ等しい、請求項23に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 合成した前方NEXTは、逆NEXTに実質的に等しい、請求項24に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域の総誘導性カップリングは、特性プラグ及び前記ジャックの総誘導性カップリングからNEXT補償領域の誘導性カップリングを減算した値にほぼ等しい、請求項20に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 比較的低い遠方端部クロストーク(FEXT)を生じさせる、請求項26に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記NEXT補償領域は、前記NEXTクロストーク領域と長さがほぼ等しい、請求項20に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記ジャック接触子は、連係する長さ及び幅を各々有し、該幅は該長さよりも小さく、前記ジャック接触子は、前記プラグが前記ジャック内に設置されたとき信号電流をそれらの長さの下方にまで伝達しない、請求項18に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 前記コネクターの少なくとも2つは、交差されたステムを有する、請求項18に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 通信システムで使用するためのジャックであって、
前記ジャックは、第1の通信ケーブルを第2の通信ケーブルに接続するためプラグと協働してインターフェースを画成し、前記通信ケーブルの各々は、ワイヤ対に配置された複数のワイヤを有し、
前記ジャックは、
前記第1の通信ケーブルのワイヤに接続するための複数の絶縁変位接触子と、
前記プラグが前記ジャック内に挿入されたとき前記プラグ内で複数のプラグ接触子に接続するための複数のジャック接触子であって、前記プラグ接触子は前記第2の通信ケーブルのワイヤに接続されている、前記複数のプラグ接触子と、
前記第1の通信ケーブルのワイヤから前記第2の通信ケーブルのワイヤまで伝導経路を形成するため、前記複数の絶縁変位接触子に第1の端部で接続され、前記複数のジャック接触子に第2の端部で可撓的に接続された回路基板であって、該回路基板は、クロストーク補償を提供するように配置された伝導トレース経路を備える、前記回路基板と、
を備える、ジャック。 - 前記回路基板は、前記プラグが設置されたとき前記ジャック接触子が前記プラグ接触子とインターフェースを画定するところとは略反対側に隣接して前記ジャック接触子に取り付けられる可撓性部材を有するフレキシブル印刷回路基板である、請求項31に記載のジャック。
- 可撓性部材は、前記プラグが設置されたとき前記ジャック接触子が前記プラグ接触子とインターフェースを画定するところとは略反対側に隣接して前記ジャック接触子に前記回路基板を取り付ける、請求項31に記載のジャック。
- 前記回路基板は、フレキシブル印刷回路基板であり、前記第1の端部は、前記ジャック接触子により画定された平面に略垂直であり、前記第2の端部は、前記絶縁変位接触子への接続のため固く支持されている、請求項33に記載のジャック。
- 前記回路基板は、フレキシブル印刷回路基板であり、該フレキシブル印刷回路基板は、その第1の端部からその第2の端部まで約180度曲がり、前記第1の端部は前記ジャック接触高により画定された平面に略垂直であり、前記第2の端部は、前記絶縁変位接触子に略垂直である、請求項33に記載のジャック。
- 前記絶縁変位接触子は、少なくとも90度の曲がり部分を各々備えるステムを有し、前記回路基板はフレキシブル印刷回路基板であり、該フレキシブル印刷回路基板は、その第1の端部からその第2の端部まで約90度曲がり、前記第1の端部は前記ジャック接触高により画定された平面に略垂直であり、前記第2の端部は、前記絶縁変位接触子に略垂直である、請求項33に記載のジャック。
- 前記可撓性印刷回路は、前記コネクターが接続されたところで剛性基板に取り付けられている、請求項34に記載のジャック。
- 前記伝導経路は、伝導性トレース経路を備え、該伝導性トレース経路は、近傍端部(NEXT)補償領域と、近傍端部(NEXT)クロストーク領域と、前記ジャック接触子と前記NEXT補償領域との間の第1の遷移領域と、前記NEXT補償領域と前記NEXTクロストーク領域との間の第2の遷移領域とを備える、請求項31に記載のクロストーク補償装置。
- 第1の周波数において、前記NEXTクロストーク領域は、特性プラグのものにほぼ等しい、連係された総クロストークカップリングの大きさを有する、請求項38に記載のジャック。
- 前記第1の周波数において、前記NEXT補償領域は、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域のカップリングと特性プラグのカップリングとの加算値の2倍よりも僅かに小さい総補償カップリングの大きさを有する、請求項39に記載のジャック。
- 前記NEXT補償領域、前記NEXTクロストーク領域、及び、前記第1及び第2の遷移領域は、各々分布カップリングを持ち、事実上遠隔カップリングを持っていない、請求項38に記載のジャック。
- 第1の周波数において、設置された特性プラグのカップリングの有効中心と、NEXT補償領域の中心との間の第1の位相角度変化は、NEXTクロストーク領域の中心とNEXT補償領域の中心との間の第2の位相角度変化にほぼ等しく、これにより、前方NEXTは逆NEXTに実質的に等しくなる、請求項38に記載のジャック。
- 前記NEXT補償領域の総誘導性カップリングは、前記特性プラグ及び前記ジャックの総誘導性カップリングからNEXT補償領域の誘導性カップリングを減算した値にほぼ等しく、これにより、減少した遠方端部クロストーク(FEXT)を生じさせる、請求項42に記載のジャック。
- 前記NEXT補償領域は、前記NEXTクロストーク領域と長さがほぼ等しい、請求項38に記載のジャック。
- 前記ジャック接触子は、連係する長さ及び幅を各々有し、該幅は該長さよりも小さく、前記ジャック接触子は、前記プラグが前記ジャック内に設置されたとき信号電流をそれらの長さの下方にまで伝達しない、請求項31に記載のジャック。
- 前記絶縁変位接触子の少なくとも2つは、交差されたステムを有する、請求項31に記載のジャック。
