Claims (20)
- ミクロスフィアの層と、
ミクロスフィアの層と光学的に関連して配置された反射コーティングと、
を含んでなる色シフティング再帰反射物品であって、
反射コーティングが、半透明の第1の反射層と第2の反射層との間に配置された少なくとも部分的に透明のスペーサー層を含んでなり、そして第1の方向から物品上に入射する光が第1の色で再帰反射され、そして第2の方向から物品上に入射する光が、第1の色とは視覚的に異なる第2の色で再帰反射されるように、反射コーティングの少なくとも一層が複数のミクロスフィアの各々と関連する不均一な厚さを備える、色シフティング再帰反射物品。 - 反射コーティングが本質的に第1の反射層と、スペーサー層と、第2の反射層と、からなる、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 複数のミクロスフィアの各々と関連する不均一な厚さが厚さ勾配を示す、請求項1に記載の物品。
- スペーサー層が不均一な厚さを備える、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 第1の色および第2の色がCIE色度座標(x1,y1)、(x2,y2)によって各々特徴付けられ、第1の方向および第2の方向が30°異なり、そしてさらに|x2−x1|および|y2−y1|のより大きいほうが少なくとも0.05である、請求項1に記載の物品。
- |x2−x1|および|y2−y1|のより大きいほうが少なくとも0.1である、請求項5に記載の物品。

スペーサー層が第1の反射層と第2の反射層との間にあるようにスペーサー層に隣接する第2の反射層と、
を含んでなり、
反射コーティングが可視光を不均一に反射し、そして少なくとも複数のミクロスフィアの各ミクロスフィアと関連する反射コーティングの予め定められた第1の領域が第1の厚さを備え、そして少なくとも複数のミクロスフィアの各ミクロスフィアと関連する反射コーティングの予め定められた第2の領域が、第1の厚さとは異なる第2の厚さを備える、色シフティング再帰反射物品。 - 白色光によって垂直入射で照射した時に有色光を再帰反射する、請求項9に記載の物品。
- 再帰反射光の色および強度の両方で角度依存性シフトを示す、請求項9に記載の物品。
- ミクロスフィアの層を提供する工程と、
ミクロスフィアの層と光学的に関連する反射コーティングを形成する工程と、
を含んでなる色シフティング再帰反射物品の製造方法であって、
反射コーティングを形成する工程が
ミクロスフィアの層に隣接する半透明の第1の反射層を堆積させる工程と、
第1の反射層上で少なくとも部分的に透明のスペーサー層を堆積させる工程と、
スペーサー層上で第2の反射層を堆積させる工程と、
を含んでなり、
第1の方向から物品上に入射する光が第1の色で再帰反射され、そして第2の方向から物品に入射する光が、第1の色とは視覚的に異なる第2の色で再帰反射されるように、複数のミクロスフィアの各々に反射コーティングの各層の少なくとも一層における不均一な厚さを提供するように反射コーティングが形成される、色シフティング再帰反射物品の製造方法。 - スペーサー層を堆積させる工程が、
第1の反射層上でプレポリマー蒸気を凝縮する工程と、
凝縮されたプレポリマー蒸気を硬化する工程と、
を含んでなる、請求項12に記載の方法。 - スペーサー層を堆積させる工程が、プレポリマー蒸気を形成するモノマーまたはオリゴマーを含有する液体組成物を蒸発させる工程をさらに含んでなる、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 液体組成物を蒸発させる工程が、プレポリマー蒸気を形成する液体組成物をフラッシュ蒸発させる工程を含んでなる、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 液体組成物を蒸発させる工程が、液体組成物を液滴へと微粒化し、そして液滴を蒸発させる工程を含んでなる、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 凝縮されたプレポリマー蒸気を硬化する工程が、凝縮されたプレポリマー蒸気を放射線に暴露する工程を含んでなる、請求項13に記載の方法。
- プレポリマー蒸気を硬化する工程が、プレポリマー蒸気を凝縮する工程と同時に生じる、請求項13に記載の方法。
- プレポリマー蒸気がアクリレート、メタクリレート、アクリルアミド、メタクリルアミド、ビニルエーテル、マレエート、シンナメート、スチレン、オレフィン、ビニル、エポキシド、シラン、メラミン、ヒドロキシル官能性モノマーまたはアミノ官能性モノマーの一種以上を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
