従って、触媒Cは環ロスが最低で、触媒D〜Fはモルデナイト不純物レベルと共にモル%環ロスの増大を示した。そうした循環はコストが高くつくので、C8環ロスの低さはモルデナイト不純物をほとんど含まないMTWを用いた本発明の触媒の好ましい特徴である。
Claims (9)
- C8環ロスを最低に抑えつつエチルベンゼンをキシレンに安定的に異性化するための触媒であって、この触媒は元素ベースで計算して0.1〜2重量%のプラチナ族成分、基本的にモルデナイトを含まず、シリカ対アルミナのモル比が45以下である1〜90重量%のMTW型ゼオライト成分、及び無機酸化物結合材成分を含むことを特徴とする触媒。
- 元素ベースで計算して0.01〜5重量%のIVA族成分(IUPAC14)をさらに含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1記載の触媒。
- 上記IVA族成分(IUPAC14)が錫であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の触媒。
- さらに0.05〜1.0重量%の硫黄を含むことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の触媒。
- 上記MTW型ゼオライト成分の含有量が2〜20重量%であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の触媒。
- 上記MTW型ゼオライト成分が20対40のシリカ対アルミナ比を有していることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の触媒。
- 上記無機酸化物結合材成分がアルミナとシリカの1種又は両方を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の触媒。
- 上記MTW型ゼオライト成分が最大で20重量%のモルデナイトを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の触媒。
- キシレンとエチルベンゼンを含む供給原料混合物を異性化するための方法において、異性化ゾーン内で水素の存在下、300℃から500℃の範囲の温度、1〜50気圧の圧力、0.5〜10毎時の液体時間空間速度、そして0.5:1〜25:1の範囲の水素対炭化水素モル比を含む異性化条件で、上記供給原料混合物を請求項1又は2記載の触媒と接触させて、供給原料混合物に対するC8環ロスを4モル%以下に抑えて、キシレンの割合が上記供給原料中の割合より多く含んでいる異性化生成物を得ることを特徴とする方法。
