Abstract
Description
本出願は、2003年8月18日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/495,988号からの優先権を主張するものである。
本発明は、ニードルハブ内に組み込まれたバルブを有するカテーテル挿入ニードルに関する。
流体の注入又は除去用のカテーテルが、流体を注入したり除去したりするために、身体じゅうの様々な静脈の部位及び内腔(cavity)に配置され得る。かかるカテーテル法は、複数の管腔を備えた単一のカテーテルを用いることにより実施され得る。複数の管腔カテーテルの典型的な例は、1つの管腔が流体を導き、また、1つの管腔が流体を除去するデュアル管腔カテーテルである。カテーテル法は、また、カテーテルが挿入されるべき領域内に、2つの異なる切開口に挿入された別個の単一カテーテルを用いることに実施され得る。かかる複数のカテーテルのアッセンブリは、テシオ(Tesio)(登録商標)のカテーテルとして知られている。
簡潔には、本発明は、尖形状の遠位端と、近位端とを有する中空のニードルを有するニードルアッセンブリを提供する。このアッセンブリは、また、ニードルに固定式に接続された遠位ハブ端と、開口部を備えた近位ハブ端と、上記遠位端と近位端との間に通じて延びる通路とを備えたニードルハブを有している。バルブは、上記通路内に配置される。そして、ここでは、バルブが、その内部に設けられた少なくとも1つの貫通孔を備えたシール部材と、該シール部材の近傍に配置され第1の位置と第2の位置との間で摺動可能なプランジャとを有している。上記第1の位置は、中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡しないように、上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔が閉ざされる位置であり、他方、上記第2の位置は、中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡するように、上記プランジャが上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を開いた位置に付勢する位置である。
図面では、同様の符号は、全体を通じて同様の構成要素をあらわす。用語「遠位」及び「近位」は、それぞれ、本発明に係るニードルアッセンブリの挿入端及び接続端をあらわす。専門用語は、とりわけ上述した用語、その派生語、類似した趣旨の用語を含む。後述する実施形態は、排他的でなく、開示された形式に本発明を制限するものでない。これらの実施形態は、本発明の原理及びその用途並びに実用を最良に説明するために、また、他の当業者に本発明を最良に利用させるために、選択されまた記述される。
Claims (18)
- 尖形状の遠位端と、近位端とを有する中空のニードルと、
ニードルに固定式に接続された遠位ハブ端と、開口部を備えた近位ハブ端と、上記遠位端と近位端との間に通じて延びる通路とを備えたニードルハブと、
上記通路内に配置されるバルブであって、その内部に設けられた少なくとも1つの貫通孔を備えたシール部材と、該シール部材の近傍に配置されたプランジャであり、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡しないように、上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔が閉ざされる位置である第1の位置と、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡するように、上記プランジャが上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を開いた位置に付勢する位置である第2の位置との間で摺動可能なプランジャとを備えたバルブとを有している、ニードルアッセンブリ。 - 上記ニードルハブが、一部品からなる構造体である、請求項1記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記シール部材及びプランジャが、共に、上記通路内に全体的に配置される、請求項1記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記バルブが、更に、上記プランジャとニードルハブとの間で上記通路内に配置される支持部材を有している、請求項1記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記ニードルハブが、更に、該ニードルハブを通じて延びる長手軸を有している、請求項1記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記シール部材が、上記長手軸のまわりに全体的に配置される、請求項5記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 更に、上記ニードルハブの近位端に取り外し可能に接続される球根状膨張体を有している、請求項1記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 血管内にガイドワイヤを挿入する方法であって、該方法は、
上記請求項1によるニードルアッセンブリを提供するステップと、
外方へ延びるルアコネクタ(luer connector)を備えた本体を提供するステップと、
遠位端を備えたガイドワイヤを提供するステップと、
上記ルアコネクタがプランジャを遠位端に配置させ、該プランジャが上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を、閉じた位置から開いた位置へ付勢するように、上記本体をハブの近位端に取り外し可能に接続するステップと、
上記血管内にニードルの尖形状の遠位端を挿入するステップと、
上記本体内へ血液を引き込むことにより血管内におけるニードルの適切な配置を確認するステップと、
上記ルアコネクタがプランジャから離間させられ、シール部材が、近位方向にプランジャを付勢し、更に、上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔が閉じた位置に戻るように、上記ニードルアッセンブリから本体を取り除くステップと、
上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を通過し、中空のニードルを通過し、上記血管内に通じるように、上記通路内にガイドワイヤの遠位端を挿入するステップと、
上記ガイドワイヤに沿って近位にニードルアッセンブリを摺動させることにより、血管からニードルアッセンブリを取り除くステップとを有している、方法。 - 上記本体を提供するステップが、注射器を提供することを有している、請求項8記載の方法。
- 上記本体を提供するステップが、球根状に膨らんでなる球根状膨張体を提供することを有している、請求項8記載の方法。
- 更に、上記球根状膨張体に注射器を接続するステップを有している、請求項10記載の方法。
- 尖形状の遠位端,近位端、及び、該遠位端と近位端との間に延びる長手軸を有する中空のニードルと、
上記ニードルに固定式に接続される遠位ハブ端と、開口部を備えた近位ハブ端と、上記遠位ハブ端と近位ハブ端との間に長手軸に沿って延びる通路とを備えたニードルハブと、
上記通路内に配置されるバルブであって、その内部に設けられた少なくとも1つの貫通孔を備えたシール部材と、該シール部材の近傍に配置されたプランジャであり、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡しないように、上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔が閉ざされる位置である第1の位置と、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡するように、上記プランジャが上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を開いた位置に付勢する位置である第2の位置との間で摺動可能なプランジャとを備えたバルブとを有している、ニードルアッセンブリ。 - 上記ニードルハブは、一部品からなる構造体である、請求項12記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記シール部材及びプランジャは、共に、上記通路内に全体的に配置される、請求項12記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 上記バルブは、更に、上記プランジャとニードルハブとの間で上記通路内に配置される支持部材を有している、請求項12記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 更に、上記ニードルハブの近位端に取り外し可能に接続される球根状膨張体を有している、請求項12記載のニードルアッセンブリ。
- 第1の端部と、第2の端部と、該第1の端部と第2の端部との間に延びる長手軸と、該第1の端部と第2の端部とを流体通過可能に連絡する経路と、上記通路を構成する壁部とを備えた通路と、
上記第1の端部と第2の端部との間で経路内に配置されるバルブであって、上記長手軸に沿って配置される少なくとも1つの貫通孔を備えたシール部材と、該シール部材の近傍に配置されたプランジャであり、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡しないように、上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔が閉ざされる位置である第1の位置と、上記中空のニードル及び近位ハブ端が互いに流体通過可能に連絡するように、上記プランジャが上記少なくとも1つの貫通孔を開いた位置に付勢する位置である第2の位置との間で摺動可能なプランジャとを備えたバルブとを有している、通路及びバルブの組合せ体。 - 上記バルブが、更に、上記プランジャと壁部との間で、上記経路内に配置される支持部材を有している、請求項17記載の通路及びバルブの組合せ体。
