Abstract
【解決手段】一次入出力バスにライブラリ・コントローラ36とリピータ38を接続し、PCボード32,34を介して一次入出力バスにピグテール接続した複数の二次入出力バスのそれぞれに、ハウジング20〜28に収容されたドライブを接続する。データの転送は一次及び二次入出力バスを介して行われる。ドライブの故障が検出されると、コントローラが故障ドライブのみをアクセス不可の状態にし、給電を停止する。この段階で、PCボードから二次入出力バスのケーブル及び電源ケーブル等を外し、取っ手を持って故障ドライブを引き抜くことができる。

Claims (3)
- a)いくつかの電子的で機械的なサブシステムが取り付けられ、前記サブシステムには媒体の挿入を行うロボット式媒体挿入装置を有する主フレーム構造と、
b)2つあるいはそれ以上のモジュール式駆動装置ハウジングであって、前記モジュール式駆動装置ハウジングが取り出しできるように前記主フレーム構造に取り付けられ、各々の前記駆動装置ハウジング内には1つあるいは複数のストレージ駆動装置を備え、前記駆動装置の媒体挿入面を前記ロボット式媒体挿入装置に当接させるように保持している前記モジュール式駆動装置ハウジングと、
c)夫々の前記ストレージ駆動装置には媒体挿入面の反対側に、夫々の前記ストレージ駆動装置を接続している電気接続面とを有し、
前記駆動装置ハウジング内に収容している前記駆動装置が故障したとき、前記電気接続面を用いて故障した前記モジュール式駆動装置ハウジングへの給電を停止し、1つの前記モジュール式駆動ハウジングとして、前記ロボット式媒体挿入装置から引き離すように前記主フレーム構造から取り出すことができることを特徴とする複数駆動装置ライブラリ・コンピュータの構造。 - 1つあるいは複数の前記ストレージ駆動装置の各々が光学媒体駆動装置であり、前記ロボット式媒体挿入装置が光学媒体挿入装置であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の構造。
- 冷却ファンが、各々の前記駆動装置ハウジングに取り付けられ、前記冷却ファンが挿入されている媒体に対して前記ロボット式媒体挿入装置と反対側にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の構造。
