Abstract

Description
ステントには、主として、自己拡張型ステントと機械的に拡張可能なステントとがある。自己拡張型ステント及び機械的に拡張可能なステントの例は、特許文献1及び2に開示されている。
(発明の要約)
本発明の一実施例によれば、本発明は、周方向へ向かって延びるS字状をなすセルと、周方向へ向かって延びる逆S字状をなすセルとから選択される、相互に連結されたセルからなる少なくとも1個の帯域を備えるステントに関する。各セルは、上端部と下端部を有する。各セルの上端部は、帯域内において近接するセルの下端部に連結される。ステントは、相互に連結されたS字状をなすセル及び/又は逆S字状をなすセルからなる、相互に連結された帯域を複数個備えるように構成してもよい。S字状をなすセルからなる帯域と逆S字状をなすセルからなる帯域の両方を備える場合には、帯域は、ステントの全長にわたって交互に配置されるようにしてもよく、その他の適切な構成にしてもよい。S字状をなすセル及び/又は逆S字状をなすセルからなる近接する帯域同士は、互いに当接するようにしてもよく、連結部材により連結されてもよい。連結部材が設けられる場合には、同連結部材の形状は、直線状をなしてもよく、1回以上屈曲するようにしてもよい。ステントは、一種類の連結部材を有する構成、又は複数種類の連結部材を有する構成にしてもよい。近接する連結部材同士は互いに連結され、異なる形状のセル集合体を形成する。一実施例においては、異なる形状を有するセル集合体は、ほぼ矢印形状をなす。
本発明は、また、ほぼX字状をなす複数の部材で形成される少なくとも1個の帯域を備えるステントにも関する。X字状をなす部材は、各々、基端部及び先端部を有し、第1の長さを有する第1のアームと、第1の長さとは異なる第2の長さを有する第2のアームと、第3の長さを有する第3のアームと、第3の長さとは異なる第4の長さを有する第4のアームとを備える。第1のアーム及び第2のアームは先端方向へ向かって延び、第3のアーム及び第4のアームは基端方向へ向かって延びる。近接するX字状をなす部材同士は、先端部においては、部材間に配設される第1のループ部材を介して連結され、基端部においては、部材間に配設される第2のループ部材を介して連結される。第1のループ部材及び第2のループ部材は、ステントの長さ方向の軸に対して非平行に配置される。第1のループ部材は、ほぼ基端方向に向かって延びる第1のループ部と、ほぼ先端方向に向かって延びる第2のループ部とを備え、第2のループ部材は、ほぼ基端方向に向かって延びる第1のループ部と、ほぼ先端方向に向かって延びる第2のループ部とを備える。ほぼX字状をなす部材からなる近接する帯域同士は、互いに当接するようにしてもよく、両帯域間に配設される連結部材により連結されるようにしてもよい。連結部材が設けられる場合には、同連結部材の形状は、直線状をなしてもよく、1回以上屈曲するようにしてもよい。ステントは、一種類の連結部材を有してもよく、複数種類の連結部材を有してもよい。近接する連結部材同士は、互いに連結されて、異なる形状のセル集合体を形成するようにしてもよい。一実施例においては、異なる形状を有するセル集合体は、ほぼ矢印形状をなす。
本発明は様々な形態で実施することができるが、本明細書においては、特定の好ましい実施例について詳細に記載する。実施例の記載は、本発明の原理の例示となるものであり、例示された特定の実施例に本発明を限定するものではない。
図1は、本発明の一実施例における、非拡張状態にあるステントの展開図を示す。図1において全体が符号100にて示されるステントは、基端部102及び先端部104を有し、周方向へ向かって延びるS字状をなすセル106(うち1個を強調表示する。)と、周方向へ向かって延びる逆S字状をなすセル108(うち1個を強調表示する。)とからなる、複数の相互に連結されたセルで構成される。ステントの長さ方向における軸212は、ステントにおける流れ方向に対応する。S字状をなすセル106は、各々、上端部110と、下端部112と、基端部114と、先端部116とを有する。また、逆S字状をなすセル108は、各々、上端部118と、下端部120と、基端部122と、先端部124とを有する。
本発明は、また、近接するS字状をなすセルからなる帯域及び/又は逆S字状をなすセルからなる帯域の間に相互連結要素を配置するようにしてもよい。展開図の図3において、全体が符号100にて示される非拡張状態にあるステントは、S字状をなすセル106からなる帯域126と、逆S字状をなすセル108からなる帯域128とが交互に配置されている。ステントの長さ方向の軸212は、ステントの流れ方向に対応する。近接する帯域間には、第1の連結部材132及び第2の連結部材144が配置される。
図3の実施例においては、矢印形状をなすセル集合体156は、ステントの外周の帯域158に配置される。矢印形状をなすセル集合体156からなる帯域158は、ステントの長さ方向に対して、交互に反対方向を向くように配置される。矢印形状をなすセル集合体156aは第1の周方向に向かって配置され、矢印形状をなすセル集合体156bは、矢印形状をなすセル集合体156aとは反対の方向を向くように配置される。本発明は、また、矢印形状をなすセル集合体の向かう方向が、ステントの長さ方向に対して、交互に反対方向を向かないように配置するようにステントを構成してもよい。
00の先端部104は、S字状をなすセルからなる帯域126で終端する。なお、ステントの両端部が矢印形状をなすセルからなる帯域で終端する構成も、本発明の範囲内に含まれる。図4に示すように、ステント100の先端部104は、矢印形状をなすセル集合体156aの最も基端側の帯域158aと逆の方向を向いて配置される矢印形状をなすセル集合体156bの帯域158bで終端する。本発明によれば、矢印形状をなすセルからなる帯域がステントの両端部に設けられている場合には、ステント両端部において、矢印が向かう方向は同一であってもよい。さらには、ステントの基端部及び先端部の両方が、S字状のセルからなる帯域又は逆S字状をなすセルからなる帯域で終端する構成や、ステントの一端部においてはS字状をなすセルからなる帯域で終端し、他端部においては逆S字状をなすセルからなる帯域で終端する構成も、本発明の範囲内に含まれるものとする。
本発明は、各セルが内側へ向く2個のフィンガーからなる、1個以上のセルで構成されるステントにも関する。フィンガーのうち、一方のフィンガーは基端方向に向けて開口し、他方のフィンガーは先端方向に向けて開口する。先端方向に向けて開口するフィンガーの閉鎖部分は、先端方向に向けて開口するフィンガーの閉鎖部分に隣接して配置される。このような実施例を図2に示す。セル106は、内側へ向く第1のフィンガー310と、内側へ向く第2のフィンガー312とからなる。フィンガー310は、基端方向に向かって開口し、フィンガー312は先端方向に向かって開口する。フィンガー312の閉鎖部分316は、フィンガー310の閉鎖部分314に隣接して配置される。
さらに、従属請求項に記載された特定の特徴は、発明の範囲内において他の方法で互いに組み合わせることができ、本願は、従属請求項に記載された特徴のその他全ての組み合わせによる他の実施例についても、範囲が及ぶものとする。

状をなす部材が基端部と先端部を有し、近接するX字状をなす部材同士が、先端部においては、両部材間に延びる第1のループ部材により互いに連結され、基端部においては、両部材間に延びる第2のループ部材により互いに連結されるステント。 - 前記第1のループ部材及び第2のループ部材が、ステントの長さ方向の軸に対して非平行に配置される請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記第1のループ部材は、ほぼ基端方向に向けて延びるループ部と、ほぼ先端方向に向かって延びる第2のループ部とを備え、前記第2のループ部材は、ほぼ基端方向に向かって延びるループ部と、ほぼ先端方向に向かって延びる第2のループ部とを備える請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記各X字状をなす部材が、第1の長さを有する第1のアームと、第1の長さとは異なる第2の長さを有する第2のアームと、第3の長さを有する第3のアームと、第3の長さとは異なる第4の長さを有する第4のアームとを備え、第1のアーム及び第2のアームは先端方向に向かって延び、第3のアーム及び第4のアームは基端方向に向けて延びる請求項1に記載のステント。
