Abstract
【解決手段】非磁性絶縁層を介して積層された主磁極層及びリターンパス層で構成された垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置において、リターンパス層116は、低飽和磁束密度層(低Bs層)116−1と、低Bs層116−1上に形成された、相対的に高い飽和磁束密度を有する材料で構成された高飽和磁束密度層(高Bs層)116−2とから構成された二層構造になっている。リターンパス層116の前端面116aにおいては、低Bs層116−1及び高Bs層116−2が露出している。

Description
図1は、本発明の実施の形態に係る垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置を示す断面図である。図1に示す垂直磁気記録ヘッドH1は、記録媒体Mに垂直磁界を与え、記録媒体Mのハード膜Maを垂直方向に磁化させるものである。

Claims (5)
- 非磁性絶縁層を介して積層された主磁極層及びリターンパス層で構成され、記録媒体対向面で前記主磁極層とリターンパス層とが近接する近接領域を含む積層構造を有する垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置であって、前記リターンパス層は、少なくとも前記主磁極層側に、相対的に低い飽和磁束密度を有する材料で構成された低飽和磁束密度層を含むことを特徴とする垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置。
- 前記リターンパス層は、前記低飽和磁束密度層上に形成された、相対的に高い飽和磁束密度を有する材料で構成された高飽和磁束密度層を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置。
- 前記リターンパス層は、前記高飽和磁束密度層上に形成された、相対的に低い飽和磁束密度を有する材料で構成された低飽和磁束密度層をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項2記載の垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置。
- 前記リターンパス層は、前記低飽和磁束密度層内に埋設された、相対的に高い飽和磁束密度を有する材料で構成された高飽和磁束密度層を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置。
- 前記近接領域における前記主磁極層と前記リターンパス層との間隔が約50nmであり、前記低飽和磁束密度層の前記主磁極層側の厚さが約10nm〜約100nmであることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれかに記載の垂直磁気記録ヘッド装置。
