図3(a)に示すように、本実施例の起立補助装置1bは、実施例1の起立補助装置1aにおいて、掛止手段4の掛止部4aにレバー16が延設され、止具5に傾斜面17aと凹状の立面17bを有する突起部17が設けられた構造となっている。また、基底板側面3bには、レバー16と干渉しないように切欠部7aが設けられている。
上面板2の傾動に伴う掛止手段4の移動状態について図3(b)を用いて詳細に説明する。なお、突起部17の両側に位置する掛止手段4を区別するため、それぞれ掛止手段4x及び掛止手段4yと表すものとする。上面板2を開く方向に傾動させた場合、図3(b)に示すように、掛止手段4xは全体として方向Bで示す向きに引っ張られる。これにより、掛止手段4xはその掛止部4aを傾斜面17aに当接させながら方向Dで示す向きに摺動して容易に乗り越えることができる。そして、突起部17を乗り越えて掛止手段4yの状態となる。
これに対し、上面板2を閉じる方向に傾動させようとすると、掛止手段4yには方向Bと逆向きの力が加わる。しかし、掛止手段4yは掛止部4aが立面17bに係合し、方向Bと逆の向きには移動できないため、上面板2の閉じる方向への傾動が阻止される。すなわち、突起部17は上面板2の位置を保持する保持手段として作用する。
なお、レバー16を方向Eで示す向きに引き上げると、凹面17bに対して掛止手段4yの掛止部4aを係合させないようにすることができる。これにより、突起部17による保持動作を解除して、上面板2を閉じる方向に傾動させることが可能となる。
図3(c)に示すように、起立補助装置1bを備えた椅子9bは、脚部12と座部13の間に起立補助装置1bが介装された構造となっている。通常の使用状態では、座部13は略水平であるが、椅子9bに座った利用者が前傾姿勢になって座部13の前端に方向Cで示す向きに体重をかけると、座部13は上面板2と一体となって軸6を中心として方向Aで示す向きに傾動する。
座部13の傾動に伴い、掛止手段4の下端部は突起部17を順次乗り越えて、掛止手段4は全体として方向Bで示す向きに移動する。しかし、掛止手段4は掛止部4aが突起部17の立面17bと係合する場合には、方向Bと逆の向きには移動できない構造となっている。
このような構造の起立補助装置1bを備えた椅子9bにおいては、傾動後の座部13の傾斜状態が数段階に分けて保持されるという作用を有する。

このような構造の起立補助装置1cにおいては、上面板2を開く方向に傾動させていくと、やがて、上面板2の前端部が基底板3の延設部18に当接する。従って、上面板2は所定の角度以上に回動することがない。また、係止金具19をピン20に係止することによって、上面板2の閉じた状態が保持される。
図4(c)に示すように、起立補助装置1cを備えた椅子9cは、脚部12と座部13の間に起立補助装置1cが介装された構造となっている。
このような構造の起立補助装置1cを備えた椅子9cにおいては、椅子9cに座った利用者が前傾姿勢になって座部13の前端に方向Cで示す向きに体重をかけると、座部13は上面板2と一体となって軸6を中心として方向Aで示す向きに傾動する。そして、基底板3の前端が上面板2の延設部18に当接すると、座部13の傾動は止まる。また、係止金具19をピン20に係止すれば、座部13は水平状態に保たれる。
なお、本実施例においては、基底板3に延設部18を設けて、上面板2の前端部をこの延設部18に当接させて傾動を抑制したが、逆に上面板2の前端部から基底板側面3bと干渉しないように延設部を形成し、この延設部の端部を基底板平面3aに当接させて傾動を抑制するように構成してもよい。
