Abstract
Description
インバータは、プリント回路実装品(PCA)に含まれる。PCAは、Mosfetスイッチ101と、コイル102と、プッシュ/プルドライバ回路103と、同調コンデンサ104と、変圧器105と、バラストコンデンサ106と、を含むアナログ回路を備える。インバータのアナログ回路の機能は、DC電圧114をAC電圧115に変換して出力することである。
インバータは、蛍光ランプ109と、電位差計110と、抵抗器111と、整流ダイオード112と、を含むランプ回路に接続される。蛍光ランプ109には、冷陰極蛍光ランプ(CCFL)を用いることができる。電位差計110の末端は、フィードバック回路108に接続される。
フィードバック回路108は、電位差計110と抵抗器111とを通って生成された整流電圧を感知し、インバータコントローラ107に電圧を供給する。
インバータコントローラ107は、内部にアナログ回路を含み、フィードバック回路108からの感知信号を内部基準値と比較して、結果としてパルス幅変調(PWM)信号を生成し、蛍光ランプ109を制御するために必要なAC電圧115を生成するために適した方法でMosfetスイッチ101のオン/オフを切り替える。また、インバータコントローラ107は、別のアナログ回路を備え、この制御システムの電源立ち上げ時に相対的に大きいAC電圧115を得るためのPWM信号を生成する。この電源立ち上げ時の大きいAC電圧115は、蛍光を開始するときに蛍光ランプの中のガスをイオン化するために必要な初期電圧(点弧電圧)を生成するために必要である。一度蛍光ランプ109がつくと、蛍光ランプ109に供給される電圧を減らすことができる。
電位差計110は、製造時の部品のばらつきを許すために、蛍光ランプ109の明るさを調節するために用いられる。
調光電圧113は、インバータコントローラ107の内部の比較器に入力される。そして、調光電圧113は、PWM信号の変化と蛍光ランプ109の明るさの変化とをもたらすフィードバック回路108からの信号に付加される。
インバータコントローラ107を用いると、インバータ・ランプ回路100のアナログ制御を行うことになる。このアナログ制御の幾つかの欠点を挙げると次のようになる。
(1)部品の違いを補整するために、電位差計110の手動の調整が必要である。
(2)ランプ109の寿命を補整するわけではなく、古くなったランプは同じ電流値でも発光強度は小さい。
(3)制御システムは温度の変化に適応しない。
この発明は、ディジタル制御システムを用いて得られる多数の利点をもたらす。ランプの発光強度の設定は自動的に行われ、部品の違いや温度に影響されない。また、ディジタル制御システムはランプの寿命や温度変化のための補整をすることができる。
この発明による他の利点は、各々のランプに異なる電圧値が必要である場合でも、自動的に要求に適応できるため、インバータ・ランプシステムは効率的に操作される。
さらには、この発明による他の利点は、バックライトシステムのコストや電力消費を減らすことである。
ディジタル制御システムは、4つのランプを制御するように示されているが、これより多くのランプを制御するように拡張することが可能である。
MCUは、パルス幅変調器302と、プロセッサ303と、A/Dコンバータ304と、アナログマルチプレクサ(MUX)305と、温度センサ306と、ホストコンピュータやLCDコントローラとの通信に用いられるI/O307と、ROM・RAM308と、を含む。MCU302は、アナログマルチプレクサ305とA/Dコンバータ304とを含むミックスドシグナル集積回路である。
