Claims (10)

  1. 少なくとも1つのシリンダー(112)とシリンダー(112)内において滑動可能なピストン(212)とを備える内燃機関(110)を操作する方法において、
    加圧空気と再循環排ガスの混合物を吸気マニフォルド(114)からシリンダー(112)内の燃焼室(206)の吸気孔(208)に供給すること、
    実質的にピストン(212)の圧縮行程の大部分の間加圧空気と排ガスの混合物を燃焼室(206)と吸気マニフォルド(114)との間に流入させるように、カム(234)によって吸気弁(218)を開いて、可変吸気弁閉鎖機構(238)によって吸気弁(218)の開きを保持すること、及び
    吸気弁(218)が閉鎖した後、燃料を燃焼室(206)に噴射するように、燃料供給システム(202)を操作可能に制御すること
    を含む方法。
  2. 前記選択的に操作することは、吸気弁(218)を開状態に保つように、可変吸気弁閉鎖機構(238)を操作することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
  3. 吸気弁(218)の選択的な操作は、少なくとも1つのエンジン状態に基づく、請求項1に記載の方法。
  4. 前記選択的に操作することは、吸気弁(218)がピストン(212)の圧縮行程の後半の一部にわたって開状態に維持されるように、吸気弁(218)を操作することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
  5. 圧縮行程の一部の間、燃料の少なくとも一部を噴射することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
  6. 燃料の少なくとも一部を噴射することは、主噴射の前に、所定のクランク角でパイロット噴射を行なうことを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
  7. 加圧空気と再循環排ガスの混合物を供給することは、ある量の排ガスを排ガス再循環(EGR)システム(804)から制御可能にもたらすことを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
  8. 可変圧縮比内燃機関(110)において、
    少なくとも1つのシリンダー(112)を画成するエンジンブロック(111)と、
    前記エンジンブロック(111)に接続されたヘッド(220)であって、吸気孔(208)と排気孔(210)とを備えるヘッド(220)と、
    各シリンダー(112)内において滑動可能なピストン(212)と、
    前記ヘッド(220)、前記ピストン(212)、及び前記シリンダ(112)によって画成される燃焼室(206)と、
    吸気孔(208)を開閉するように制御可能に移動可能な吸気弁(218)と、
    吸気孔(208)に流体的に接続された少なくとも1つのターボチャージャー(120、140)を備える給気システム(100)と、
    排ガスの一部を排気孔(210)から給気システム(100)に制御可能にもたらすように操作可能な排ガス再循環(EGR)システム(804)と、
    燃料を燃焼室(206)内に選択されたタイミングで制御可能に噴射するように操作可能な燃料供給システム(202)と、
    吸気弁(218)を開くように構成されるカム(234)と、
    吸気弁(218)の開きを保持するように構成される可変吸気弁閉鎖機構(238)と
    を備える可変圧縮比内燃機関。
  9. 吸気弁(218)が圧縮行程の後半の一部にわたって開状態に維持されるように、吸気弁(218)を操作するように構成された制御装置(244)をさらに備える、請求項8に記載の内燃機関(110)。
  10. EGRシステム(804)は、低圧ループRGRシステム(804)である、請求項8に記載の内燃機関(110)。
