Abstract
【解決手段】 チタンもしくはこれらの金属を主成分とする合金を、ハロゲン原子を含有するイオンを含む電解質溶液中で電解酸化することにより、層状構造のチタン酸化物およびそれに連なるチタン酸化物の構造間に空隙を含むことで十分な表面粗度をもち、低次のチタン酸化物の含有量が少ないチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を製造することができる。

本発明のチタン−チタン酸化物複合体は、以下に記載する方法で、チタン金属もしくはチタンを主成分とする合金(以下、チタン合金という。)を電解酸化することにより得ることができる。
電解酸化は、通常、印加電圧が5〜200V、好ましくは10〜150V、より好ましくは14〜110Vであり、電流密度が0.2〜500mA/cm2、好ましくは0.5〜100mA/cm2の範囲で、時間は1分〜24時間、好ましくは5分〜10時間行われる。電解中、これらの印加電圧や電流密度を変化させることも可能であり、この際は周波数が1×10−6Hz〜1×105Hzのパルスを印加して電解を行う。
また、陽極酸化時の電解質溶液の温度は0〜50℃が好ましく、より好ましくは0〜40℃である。
本発明においては、ハロゲン原子としては塩素原子が特に好ましい。
かかる酸性化合物としては、前述のハロゲン化物もしくはその酸化体イオンの酸の他、硫酸、硝酸、酢酸、過酸化水素、シュウ酸、リン酸、クロム酸、グリセロリン酸等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
かかる塩基性化合物としては、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化リチウム、アンモニア等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
その濃度は、ハロゲン原子含有イオンに対して、モル比で0.001〜1000の範囲が好ましく、より好ましくは0.01〜50、さらに好ましくは0.04〜5の範囲で用いられる。
かかる水溶性のチタン化合物としては、チタンイソプロポキシド等のチタンアルコキシド、三塩化チタン、四塩化チタン、フッ化チタン、テトラフルオロチタン酸アンモニウム、硫酸チタン、硫酸チタニル等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。その濃度は、ハロゲン原子含有イオンに対して、モル比で0.001〜1000の範囲が好ましく、より好ましくは0.01〜50、さらに好ましくは0.04〜5の範囲で用いられる。
かかるチタニア微粒子としては、粒径が0.5〜100nmのものが好ましく、より好ましくは2〜30nmのものが使用される。具体的には、チタン鉱石から液相法により調製したものや、気相法、ゾル・ゲル法、液相成長法で合成したものを挙げることができる。ここで、気相法とは、チタン鉱石を、硫酸等の強酸で、加熱加水分解して得られる含水酸化チタンを800℃〜850℃で焼成してチタニアを製造する方法である。液相法とは、塩化チタンに酸素及び水素を接触させて、チタニアを製造する方法である。ゾル・ゲル法とは、チタンアルコキシドをアルコール水溶液中で加水分解させてゾルを生成させ、さらに、該ゾルに加水分解触媒を加えて、放置してゲル化させ、該ゲル化物を焼成してチタニアを製造する方法である。液相成長法とは、フッ化チタンやテトラフルオロチタン酸アンモニウム、硫酸チタニル等の加水分解でチタニアを得る方法である。
上記高分子マトリックスとしての特性を示す高分子化合物としては、ヘキサフロロプロピレン、テトラフロロエチレン、トリフロロエチレン、エチレン、プロピレン、アクリロニトリル、塩化ビニリデン、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、マレイン酸、無水マレイン酸、メチルアクリレート、エチルアクリレート、メチルメタクリレート、スチレン、フッ化ビニリデンなどのモノマーを重合または共重合して得られる高分子化合物を挙げることができる。またこれらの高分子化合物は単独で用いても良く、また混合して用いても良い。これらの中でも、特にポリフッ化ビニリデン系高分子化合物が好ましい。
本発明にかかるチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を以下のような手順で製作した。
まず、大きさが5cm×0.5cm、厚さ1mmのチタン基板(純度99.7重量%)を用意し、アセトン中で5分間超音波洗浄を施した。次に、濃度が0.3容量%、温度が16℃の過塩素酸水溶液からなる電解質水溶液中でチタンを20Vで30分間陽極酸化することによってチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を得た。
得られたチタン−チタン酸化物複合体の断面をイオンミリングにより研磨を行い、走査型電子顕微鏡を用いて断面観察を行ったところ、図5に示すようにチタンの最表面に厚さ約40nmの層状構造が存在することが確認された。またこの層状構造と連なって上部にさらに層状構造、または波打った層状構造が存在することが確認された。これらの層構造の間に存在する空隙は、場所によってサイズは異なるが、平均するとおおよそ20nmであった。
得られたチタン酸化物中のチタン原子の価数を、X線光電子分光法を用いて確認したところ、Ti4+が93.6%、Ti3+が6.4%という結果であった。
本発明にかかるチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を以下のような手順で製作した。
まず、まず、大きさが6cm×1.5cm、厚さ1mmのチタン板(純度99.7重量%)を用意し、エタノール中で5分間超音波洗浄を施した。次に、濃度が0.01容量%、温度が16℃の塩酸水溶液からなる電解質水溶液中でチタンを3.5mA/cm2で1時間定電流電解酸化することによってチタン表面にチタン酸化物を得た。この電解での最大電圧は29Vであった。
得られたチタン−チタン酸化物複合体の断面をイオンミリングにより研磨を行い、走査型電子顕微鏡を用いて断面観察を行ったところ、チタン板表面の平行方向に、厚さ約30nmの層状構造のチタン酸化物が10層以上連なって存在することが確認された。層間に存在する空隙は、場所によってサイズは異なるが、平均するとおおよそ10nmであった。
得られたチタン酸化物中のチタン原子の価数を、X線光電子分光法を用いて確認したところ、Ti4+が93.9%、Ti3+が6.1%という結果であった。
本発明にかかるチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を以下のような手順で製作した。
まず、大きさが6cm×1.5cm、厚さ1mmのチタン板(純度99.7重量%)を用意し、エタノール中で5分間超音波洗浄を施した。次に、濃度が0.01容量%、温度が16℃の過塩素酸水溶液からなる電解質水溶液中で、チタンを電流密度が6mA/cm2で〜0mA/cm2、100Hzの方形波を印加して1時間電解酸化することによってチタン表面にチタン酸化物を得た。
得られたチタン−チタン酸化物複合体の断面をイオンミリングにより研磨を行い、走査型電子顕微鏡を用いて断面観察を行ったところ、チタンの最表面に厚さ約20nmの層状構造が存在することが確認された。また、層構造同士の密着が顕著であり、層間に存在する空隙は50nmの網目構造が多数確認された。
得られたチタン酸化物中のチタン原子の価数を、X線光電子分光法を用いて確認したところ、Ti4+が97.6%、Ti3+が2.4%という結果であった。
チタン−チタン酸化物複合体を以下のような手順で製作した。
まず、大きさが6cm×1.5cm、厚さ1mmのチタン板(純度99.7重量%)を用意し、エタノール中で5分間超音波洗浄を施した。次に、濃度が0.5容量%、温度が16℃の硫酸水溶液からなる電解質水溶液中でチタンを25Vで30分間陽極酸化することによってチタン−チタン酸化物複合体を得た。得られた複合体は青色を呈していた。得られたチタン−チタン酸化物複合体の断面をイオンミリングにより研磨を行い、走査型電子顕微鏡を用いて断面観察を行ったところ、厚さ約20nmの緻密な酸化皮膜が存在することが確認された。しかしながら、この皮膜には層状構造の連なりは見られなかった。
得られたチタン酸化物中のチタン原子の価数を、X線光電子分光法を用いて確認したところ、チタンとの界面に近い箇所ほどTi4+の割合が少なく、界面から離れるにつれてその割合が増加する傾向が見られ、平均するとTi4+が72.4%、Ti3+が18.2%、Ti2+とTi+を合わせて9.4%という結果であった。

- チタンもしくはチタンを主成分とする合金の最表面に層状構造のチタン酸化物が一層以上存在し、かつその層状構造とそれに連なるチタン酸化物の構造間に空隙が存在することを特徴とするチタン−チタン酸化物複合体。
- 層状構造の厚さが5nm〜100nm、その層状構造とそれに連なるチタン酸化物の構造間に存在する空隙が2nm〜100nmであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のチタン−チタン酸化物複合体。
- チタン酸化物を形成するチタン原子の90%以上が、価数が4価であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のチタン−チタン酸化物複合体。
- チタンもしくはチタンを主成分とする合金を、ハロゲン原子を含有するイオンを含む電解質溶液中で電解酸化することにより製造することを特徴とする請求項1〜3に記載のチタン−チタン酸化物複合体。
- ハロゲン原子が塩素原子であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のチタン−チタン酸化物複合体。
