Abstract
【課題】 高速動作に伴うドライバICの電力消費の増加を抑制し、ドライバICのサイズを小型化することができる液晶表示装置の階調表示方法を提供すること。
【解決手段】 1フレームの間、ピクセルにおける液晶の反応時間を、逐次的なn個のサブフレーム(例えば、e〜i)に分割するステップと、ピクセルをイネーブルし、1フレームの間、ピクセルにガンマ電圧a〜dを印加するステップと、n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、ガンマ電圧a〜dを用いて、ピクセルの液晶を反応させるステップと、所定のi(iは正の整数)番目のサブフレームの終了時点で、ピクセルをディスエーブルさせるステップとを含み、n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、ピクセルがディスエーブルされる時点を調節するとともに、ガンマ電圧a〜dのレベルを制御することにより、ピクセルの光の透過量を調節する。

Claims (7)
- 液晶表示装置の階調表示方法において、
1フレームの間、ピクセルにおける液晶の反応時間を、逐次的なn個のサブフレームに分割するステップと、
前記ピクセルをイネーブルし、固定された特定のサブフレームの間、前記ピクセルにガンマ電圧を印加するステップと、
前記特定のサブフレームの間、前記ガンマ電圧を用いて、前記ピクセルに電荷を充電するステップと、
前記特定のサブフレームの終了時点に、前記ピクセルをディスエーブルするステップとを含み、
前記ガンマ電圧のレベルを制御することにより、前記ピクセルに充電する電荷量を調節することを特徴とする液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。 - 液晶表示装置の階調表示方法において、
1フレームの間、ピクセルにおける液晶の反応時間を、逐次的なn個のサブフレームに分割するステップと、
前記ピクセルをイネーブルし、固定されたレベルを有するガンマ電圧を前記ピクセルに印加するステップと、
前記n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、前記ガンマ電圧を用いて、前記ピクセルに電荷を充電するステップと、
所定のi(iは正の整数)番目のサブフレームの終了時点で、前記ピクセルをディスエーブルさせるステップとを含み、
前記n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、前記ピクセルをディスエーブルさせる時点を調節することにより、前記ピクセルの光の透過量を調節することを特徴とする液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。 - 液晶表示装置の階調表示方法において、
1フレームの間、ピクセルにおける液晶の反応時間を、逐次的なn個のサブフレームに分割するステップと、
前記ピクセルをイネーブルし、1フレームの間、前記ピクセルにガンマ電圧を印加するステップと、
前記n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、前記ガンマ電圧を用いて、前記ピクセルに電荷を充電するステップと、
所定のi(iは正の整数)番目のサブフレームの終了時点で、前記ピクセルをディスエーブルさせるステップとを含み、
前記n個のサブフレームそれぞれの間、前記ピクセルをディスエーブルさせる時点を調節するとともに、前記ガンマ電圧のレベルを制御することにより、前記ピクセルの光の透過量を調節することを特徴とする液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。 - 前記n個のサブフレームのそれぞれが、固定されたデータアドレッシング時間及びブランク時間を有し、該ブランク時間を制御することにより、前記ピクセルの光の透過量を調節することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。
- 前記n個のサブフレームのそれぞれが、固定されたデータアドレッシング時間及びブランク時間を有し、該ブランク時間を制御することにより、前記ピクセルの光の透過量を調節することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。
- 前記n個のサブフレームのそれぞれが、固定されたデータアドレッシング時間及びブランク時間を有し、該ブランク時間を制御することにより、前記ピクセルの光の透過量を調節することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。
- 前記ブランク時間が、前記液晶表示装置のメインクロックの数を調整することにより調節可能であることを特徴とする請求項4〜6のいずれかの項に記載の液晶表示装置の階調表示方法。
