Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for artificially making Xenopus laevis lay eggs and hatch, and then breeding the Xenopus laevis by solving a problem such that there are many difficulties from its hatching until finishing up its transformation period in the breeding of the same.
SOLUTION: This method for breeding the Xenopus laevis is to artificially make the Xenopus laevis lay eggs and hatch, and then give yeast fungi in a state of dissolving the same in the water of an aquarium. As the timing of starting to give the yeast fungi as feed, the time of hatching, becoming tadpoles and starting to move is optimal. Since the yeast fungi are the form of nutrition capable of cleaning water clouded by the excrement of the tadpoles and also dissolved in the water, it is easy to control the concentration of them.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

(1) Worked on research and development since 1995. As a result of repeated trials, in 1996, we were able to achieve very good results. Since then, we have continued to make steady progress by conducting trials and research with more implementation methods.
(2) The present invention relates to a method for generating and raising Xenopus laevis using yeast.

Detailed Description of the Invention

Structure of the invention

(1) Xenopus is artificially spawned and hatched, and then yeast is given in the form of being dissolved in water in the aquarium.
(2) The best time to give yeast as bait is when it hatches, becomes tadpole, and begins to move.
(3) Yeast bacteria are also recognized to purify turbid water with the excreta of urea, and it is possible to manage water quality without losing nutrition.
(4) Since it is a nutrient dissolved in water, the concentration can be easily controlled.
(5) The adult bait usually gives a lever. This was given in combination with yeast, but the progress was good.

Conventional methods and their drawbacks

(1) When Xenopus laevis was fed with food such as liver and spinach surimi, the water became cloudy and the larvae died due to pollutants.
(2) Many of the failures from occurrence to breeding are that the balance between water quality management, nutrition, and water temperature is lost.
(3) There were some problems in the management of nutrients given to larvae after hatching and the countermeasures against water pollution.

The invention's effect

(1) In general breeding, there are many difficulties from hatching to the end of the metamorphosis period. However, as is already clear from Mr. Etokin's experiment, thyroid hormone levels increase in natural metamorphosis. From these facts, it is considered that yeast has a closely related effect on the secretion of thyroid hormone.
(2) When yeast is administered, water becomes less turbid. This indicates that yeast is greatly involved in water purification.
