Abstract
【解決手段】分子構造内にリン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む基を有するホスファゼン化合物からなる非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤である。前記リン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合としては、炭素−炭素二重結合が好ましく、該炭素−炭素二重結合を含む基としては、アリル基及びビニル基が特に好ましい。

Description
<非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤>
本発明の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤は、分子構造内にリン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む基を有するホスファゼン化合物からなることを特徴とする。本発明の電極安定化剤を構成するホスファゼン化合物は、分子構造内にリン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む基を有するため、電気二重層キャパシタの非水電解液に添加されることで、キャパシタの充電時等に電極表面にイオン導電性の高い安定な膜を形成し、キャパシタの充放電等に伴う電極と電解液との反応、即ち、電解液の分解反応を抑制する等して、漏れ電流を低減し、キャパシタの静電容量の低下を長期に渡って抑制することができる。また、該ホスファゼン化合物は、非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタの非常時に窒素ガス及び/又はリン酸エステル等を発生して、非水電解液を不燃性、難燃性又は自己消火性にし、電気二重層キャパシタの発火等の危険性を大幅に低減する作用も有する。
[式中、R1は、それぞれ独立して一価の置換基又はハロゲン元素を表し;Y1は、それぞれ独立して2価の連結基、2価の元素又は単結合を表し;Xは、炭素、ケイ素、ゲルマニウム、スズ、窒素、リン、ヒ素、アンチモン、ビスマス、酸素、硫黄、セレン、テルル及びポロニウムからなる群から選ばれる元素の少なくとも1種を含む置換基を表し;但し、R1Y1及びXの少なくとも一つは、上記リン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む]で表される鎖状ホスファゼン化合物、及び下記式(II):

[式中、R2はそれぞれ独立して一価の置換基又はハロゲン元素を表し;nは3〜15を表し;但し、R2の少なくとも一つは、上記リン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む]で表される環状ホスファゼン化合物が好適に挙げられる。
[式(III)、式(IV)及び式(V)中、R3、R4及びR5は、それぞれ独立に一価の置換基又はハロゲン元素を表し;Y3、Y4及びY5は、それぞれ独立に2価の連結基、2価の元素又は単結合を表し;Zは2価の基又は2価の元素を表す]で表される置換基が更に好ましい。
本発明の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液は、上述した非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤と、非プロトン性有機溶媒と、支持塩とを含むことを特徴とし、キャパシタの漏れ電流を低減できると共に、発火・引火の危険性が非常に低い。
本発明の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタは、非水電解液と、正極と、負極とを備え、必要に応じて、セパレーター等の電気二重層キャパシタの技術分野で通常使用されている部材を備える。本発明の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタは、非水電解液に上述した電極安定化剤が添加されているため、漏れ電流が小さく、好ましくは、非水電解液に上記電極安定化剤が添加されていない電気二重層キャパシタに比べて、60℃における加熱試験後の漏れ電流値が10%以上低減されている。また、本発明の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタは、充電電圧が2.3V以上であることが好ましい。
表1に示す配合の非プロトン性有機溶媒及びホスファゼン化合物(電極安定化剤)からなる混合溶液に、テトラエチルアンモニウムテトラフルオロボレート[Et4N・BF4](支持塩)を1mol/L(M)の濃度で溶解させて非水電解液を調製した。
次に、活性炭[AC, 商品名:Kuractive-1500、クラレケミカル社製]、アセチレンブラック(導電剤)及びポリフッ化ビニリデン(結着剤)を、それぞれ、質量比(活性炭:導電剤:結着剤)で8:1:1となるように混合して、混合物を得た。得られた混合物の100mgを採取し、これを20mmφの耐圧カーボン製容器に入れて、圧力150kgf/cm2、常温の条件下で圧粉成形し、正極及び負極(電極)を作製した。得られた電極(正極及び負極)と、アルミニウム金属板(集電体, 厚み=0.5mm)と、ポリプロピレン/ポリエチレン板(セパレーター, 厚み=25μm)とを用いてセルを組み立て、真空乾燥によって十分に乾燥させた。該セルを上記非水電解液で含浸し、非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタを作製した。得られた電気二重層キャパシタの加熱試験後の漏れ電流値を下記の方法で測定した。
作製した電気二重層キャパシタを、60℃の恒温槽中で、充電電圧:2.7V、充電電流:2mAで充電後、更に200時間補充電を行い、その後2mAの定電流で放電させた。次に、キャパシタを恒温槽から取り出して25℃まで冷却した。更に、25℃、充電電流2mAで充電電圧2.7Vに到達後、該充電電圧で24時間補充電を行い、補充電24時間の時点での電流値を漏れ電流値とした。また、従来例の電気二重層キャパシタの漏れ電流値i0に対する、各電気二重層キャパシタの漏れ電流値iの低減率を下記式1:

から求めた。結果を表1に示す。
ホスファゼンAは、式(II)において、nが3であって、6つのR2のうち1つがエトキシ基[−O−CH2CH3]で、5つがフッ素である環状ホスファゼン化合物(25℃における粘度:1.1mPa・s、沸点125℃)であり;
ホスファゼンBは、式(II)において、nが3であって、6つのR2のうち2つがエトキシ基[−O−CH2CH3]で、4つがフッ素である環状ホスファゼン化合物(25℃における粘度:1.3mPa・s、沸点194℃)であり;
ホスファゼンCは、式(II)において、nが3であって、6つのR2のうち1つがアリルオキシ基[−O−CH2−CH=CH2]で、5つがフッ素である環状ホスファゼン化合物(25℃における粘度:1.2mPa・s、沸点137℃)である。
Claims (15)
- 分子構造内にリン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む基を有するホスファゼン化合物からなる非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤。
- 前記リン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合が炭素−炭素二重結合であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤。
- 前記炭素−炭素二重結合を含む基がアリル基及びビニル基の少なくともいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤と、非プロトン性有機溶媒と、支持塩とを含むことを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 前記非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤の含有量が0.1体積%以上であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 前記非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤の含有量が1体積%以上であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 前記非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤の含有量が10体積%以上であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 前記非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ用電極安定化剤の含有量が20体積%以上であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 更に、分子構造内にリン原子−窒素原子間二重結合以外の二重結合を含む基を有さないホスファゼン化合物を含むことを特徴とする請求項4〜8のいずれかに記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液。
- 請求項4〜9のいずれかに記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用非水電解液と、正極と、負極とを備えた非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 前記非プロトン性有機溶媒及び前記支持塩からなる非水電解液と、前記正極と、前記負極とを備えた非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタに比べて、60℃における加熱試験後の漏れ電流値が10%以上低減されていることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 前記正極及び前記負極の少なくとも一方が多孔性炭素であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 前記多孔性炭素が活性炭であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 前記正極及び前記負極の少なくとも一方が黒鉛であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 充電電圧が2.3V以上であることを特徴とする請求項10〜14のいずれかに記載の非水電解液電気二重層キャパシタ。
