Claims (6)
- アノードおよびカソード、並びに、前記アノードおよびカソードを分離する、カルボキシル酸基を有するイオノマー膜を含んでなる燃料電池であって、前記膜が少なくとも1種のルイス塩基を含み、該ルイス塩基の少なくとも一部がそのプロトン化された形態であり、前記プロトン化された形態が前記カルボキシル酸基の少なくとも一部のpKaより大きいpKaを有することを特徴とする、燃料電池。
- 前記燃料電池が、直接型メタノール燃料電池であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池。
- メタノール、水、および前記ルイス塩基を含んでなるメタノール燃料を前記アノードに供給する燃料供給装置を更に含んでなることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の燃料電池。
- アノードおよびカソード、前記アノードおよびカソードを分離する、カルボキシル酸基を有する膜、並びに、前記アノードに燃料を供給する燃料供給装置を含んでなる燃料電池を作動させる方法であって、前記膜を、ルイス塩基のプロトン化された形態で、前記カルボキシル酸基の少なくとも一部のpKaより大きいpKaを有するルイス塩基に接触させる工程を含んでなることを特徴とする、方法。
- 前記燃料電池が直接型メタノール燃料電池であり、前記燃料供給装置が前記アノードにメタノール燃料を供給することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記膜をルイス塩基に接触させる前記工程が、前記燃料電池の始動時または作動中のある時に、前記少なくとも1種のルイス塩基を添加物として前記メタノール燃料に組み込むことにより行われることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
