Abstract
Description
米国特許第6,321,119号(Kronberg)に示されるように、筋肉を刺激するための適切に形成された波形が望まれていることは明らかであるが、波形の特定形状及び治療手順を実用的に示唆するものは一切存在しない。
本発明は、安全、効果的且つ信頼性のある筋肉刺激方法であり、ギブス包帯により固定された筋肉を刺激し、筋肉萎縮を防ぐものである。
Claims (20)
- ギブス包帯が装着された肢部中の筋肉を電気的に刺激し、筋肉萎縮を抑制する方法であって、
該方法は、
(a)
(i)少なくとも2つの電極と、
(ii)前記電極に動作可能に接続された信号発生器と、
(iii)前記信号発生器に電力を供給する電源からなる
システムを提供する段階と、
(b)前記電極を前記ギブス包帯が装着された組織に接触させる段階と、
(c)前記電極を横切る外部からの複数の双極性の電圧波を生じさせることにより、外部から前記電極間において電流の経皮的電流の流れを前記組織に生じせしめ、前記筋肉を刺激する段階と、
(d)24時間筋肉を刺激し続け、該刺激時間が少なくとも12に分割された治療時間帯を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記治療時間帯が、24時間のうち少なくとも10時間行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が、24時間のうち少なくとも16時間行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が、24時間のうち略24時間行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が、休息時間によって分断され、
該休息時間において、電極間には0ボルトの電圧が負荷され、
各休息時間が12時間に満たないことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 - 各休息時間が6時間に満たないことを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 各休息時間が1時間に満たないことを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が20Hz未満の周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が5Hz未満の周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が0.5−2.5Hzの間の周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が300秒以下の持続時間を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が180秒以下の持続時間を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が30−120秒の範囲の持続時間を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が、1時間のうち4−20回設けられることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯が、1時間のうち8−16回設けられることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が可変周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が0.5−2.5Hzの間で変動する周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項16記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が1.2−4.0の要素によって変動する周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項16記載の方法。
- 前記双極性の電圧波が1.5−2.5の要素によって変動する周波数を備えることを特徴とする請求項18記載の方法。
- 前記治療時間帯を前記休息時間のうち1つの時間で除したものとして定義される比が0.2未満であることを特徴とする請求項18記載の方法。
