Abstract
Description
外耳道モジュールおよびインプラントを備え、
外耳道モジュールは、マイクロフォン、光源、パワー源および必要な電子回路を備え、
インプラントは、聴取アクチュエータに作動可能に結合した光受信機を備える補聴器システムであって、
使用時に、外耳道モジュールのマイクロフォンによって検出される音が光源の光によって変調された光信号として変換かつ送信され、前記変調された光信号が、前記耳のインプラントの光受信機により検出され、かつ聴取アクチュエータを駆動する電気信号に変換される補聴器システムを提供する。
小骨に取り付けたアクチュエータは、サウンドブリッジ(Soundbridge)インプラントで使用されるが[1]、サウンドブリッジインプラントは、動く質量成分を用いる電磁アクチュエータを有するため、振動機構は、現在提案されているデザインとは直接比較できない。試験的な調査に使用される圧電アクチュエータは、TICA聴取インプラントで使用されるタイプの、8mm直径の単一層ディスクベンダ(disk bender)であった[2]。TICAアクチュエータの出力振動レベルは、十分に書類として記録されており、聴取インプラントの必要条件を満たすことが臨床的に示されている[2]。このことは、小骨に取り付ける考え方を示すものとしてTICAアクチュエータが適切であるとしている。アクチュエータは市販されている(American Piezo Company)。その全体の厚みは0.22mmであり、その質量は150mg未満である。
光の透過が、鼓膜より不透明で少なくとも厚みが2倍である鶏の皮膚を通してテストされた。シミュレーションは可能な限り発光ダイオード(LED)源の可能サイズおよび光経路長の点で特に(otherwise)現実的であった。フォトダイオードによって検出されたエネルギーは、ディスクベンダアクチュエータを駆動するために使用され、またそのエネルギーは、2.1mWの光パワーを使用すると、インプラントにとって十分すぎるほどである100dB SPLに等価な振動変位レベルを生成し得る。専用のアクチュエータは、さらに良好に動作すると想定される。使用した赤外エネルギーのレベルは、英国規格EN60825−1(1994レーザ製品の安全性)によれば、組織損傷を生じる場合があるレベルの1%未満であった。このことは、経鼓膜テレメトリの考え方が実行可能であることを示している。

Claims (19)
- 外耳道モジュール(1)およびインプラント(20)を備え、
外耳道モジュール(1)は、マイクロフォン(11)、光源(9)、パワー源(15)および必要な電子回路を備え、
インプラント(20)は、聴取アクチュエータ(24)に作動可能に結合した光受信機(21)を備える補聴器システムであって、
使用時に、外耳道モジュール(1)のマイクロフォン(11)によって検出される音が光源(9)の光によって変調された光信号(7)として変換かつ送信され、前記変調された光信号が、前記インプラントの光受信機(22)により検出され、かつ聴取アクチュエータ(24)を駆動する電気信号に変換される補聴器システム。 - 変調された光信号(7)が、耳のインプラント(20)に対する音情報および任意のパワーを供給する請求項1に記載の補聴器システム。
- さらに耳のインプラント(20)内にある電池を充電するため光源が設けられ、前記電池がインプラント(20)に追加のパワーを供給する請求項1または2に記載の補聴器システム。
- 外耳道モジュール(1)の構成部品が、外耳道内に適合する形状に作られた単一のハウジングに収容されている先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- 光源(9)が発光ダイオード(LED)である先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- 光信号(7)が、近赤外(NIR)光または赤外(IR)エネルギーである先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- チャネル、弁(valve)類が前記モジュール(1)に設けられ、モジュール(1)を通る通路が形成されて耳道の閉塞が防止される先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- インプラント(20)が、集積された光受信機/アクチュエータ・ユニットである先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- 前記集積された光受信機/アクチュエータ・ユニットが、マイクロ電気機械システム(MEMS)の集積された光受信機/アクチュエータである請求項8に記載の補聴器システム。
- 前記光受信機が、感光ダイオードまたは光起電力電池である先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- アクチュエータ(24)が、使用時に耳小骨連鎖に接触するように配設されている先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- アクチュエータ(24)が、きぬた長骨突起、きぬたあぶみ骨関節またはあぶみ骨に配設される請求項11に記載の補聴器システム。
- アクチュエータ(24)が、使用時に中耳に位置するように配設されている請求項11に記載の補聴器システム。
- 前記アクチュエータが、セメントによる結合(cementing)、移植、または機械的手段によって所定位置に固定される請求項11乃至13のいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- 中耳または内耳部品が、機械的または電気的手段により駆動する先行するいずれかの項に記載の補聴器システム。
- 駆動が機械的手段によるものであり、アクチュエータがピエゾセラミック材料製の薄いディスクまたはディスク状の形状である請求項15に記載の補聴器システム。
- 前記ピエゾセラミック材料がチタン酸ジルコン酸鉛(PZT)またはPLZTである請求項16に記載の補聴器システム。
- 駆動が機械的手段によるものであり、アクチュエータが可撓性隔壁を具備する請求項15に記載の補聴器システム。
- 1つの光源または複数の光源の光を患者の鼓膜を通過させ、前記光源の光を耳のインプラントに受信させる工程を含む、耳のインプラントを駆動する方法および/または耳のインプラントに信号を送信する方法であって、前記光源の光が前記耳のインプラントを駆動できる方法、および/または前記耳のインプラントに信号を送信することができる方法。
