Abstract
【解決手段】現在フレーム(N)でのフレーム当たり維持パルス数からそれぞれの階調加重値によってそれぞれのサブフィールドでの維持パルス数を計算して、整数部と小数部とよりなる演算維持パルス数を求める段階と、現在フレームでの演算維持パルス数を以前フレーム(N−1)での同一階調加重値のサブフィールドの調整維持パルス数の小数部と合算して、整数部と小数部とよりなるそれぞれのサブフィールドでの調整維持パルス数を求める段階と、現在フレーム(N)での調整維持パルス数の整数部からY電極ラインとX電極ラインそれぞれに印加するそれぞれのサブフィールドでの印加維持パルス数を求める段階と、を具備する。【選択図】図9

Claims (5)
- X電極ラインとY電極ラインとが交互に平行して配列される維持電極ライン対にアドレス電極ラインが交差する領域に放電セルが形成されるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して、入力映像データのフレーム毎に時分割階調ディスプレイのためのそれぞれの階調加重値を有する複数のサブフィールドが存在し、前記それぞれのサブフィールドがリセット周期、アドレス周期、及び維持放電周期を具備するものであって、前記維持放電周期に前記維持電極ライン対それぞれに所定数の維持パルスが交互に印加されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、
現在フレームでのフレーム当たりの維持パルス数からそれぞれの階調加重値によってそれぞれのサブフィールドでの維持パルス数を計算して、整数部と小数部とよりなる演算維持パルス数を求める段階と、
前記現在フレームでの演算維持パルス数をそれ以前のフレームでの同一階調加重値のサブフィールドの調整維持パルス数の小数部と合わせて、整数部と小数部とよりなるそれぞれのサブフィールドでの調整維持パルス数を求める段階と、
前記現在フレームでの前記調整維持パルス数の整数部から、前記Y電極ラインとX電極ラインそれぞれに印加するそれぞれのサブフィールドでの印加維持パルス数を求める段階と、を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記映像データから画面の全体放電セルのうちオンになる放電セルの比率である負荷率を抽出する段階と、前記負荷率に反比例するように前記フレーム当たり維持パルス数を決定する段階と、をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル駆動方法。
- 前記それぞれのサブフィールドでの演算維持パルス数を、前記フレーム当たり維持パルス数と前記それぞれのサブフィールドの階調加重値とを乗算し、1つのフレーム内のあらゆるサブフィールドの階調加重値の和で除算して求めることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- X電極ラインとY電極ラインとが交互に平行して配列される維持電極ライン対にアドレス電極ラインが交差する領域に放電セルが形成されるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して、入力映像データのフレーム毎に時分割階調ディスプレイのためのそれぞれの階調加重値を有する複数のサブフィールドが存在し、前記それぞれのサブフィールドがリセット周期、アドレス周期、及び維持放電周期を具備するものであって、前記維持放電周期に前記Y電極ラインと前記X電極ラインそれぞれに所定数の維持パルスが交互に印加されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置において、
現在フレームでのフレーム当たり維持パルス数からそれぞれの階調加重値によってそれぞれのサブフィールドでの維持パルス数を計算して、整数部と小数部とよりなる演算維持パルス数を求めるサブフィールド別維持パルス数演算部と、
前記現在フレームでの演算維持パルス数をそれ以前のフレームでの同一階調加重値のサブフィールドの調整維持パルス数の小数部と加えて、整数部と小数部とよりなるそれぞれのサブフィールドでの調整維持パルス数を求める維持パルス数調整部と、
前記現在フレームでの前記調整維持パルス数の整数部から、前記Y電極ラインとX電極ラインそれぞれに印加するそれぞれのサブフィールドでの印加維持パルス数を求める維持パルス数決定部と、を具備することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。 - 前記映像データから画面の全体放電セルのうちオンになる放電セルの比率である負荷率を抽出する負荷率抽出部と、前記負荷率に反比例するように前記フレーム当たり維持パルス数を決定する負荷率維持パルス数決定部と、をさらに具備する請求項4に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
