Abstract

Description
ピー・ジー・アイ・ノンウォーブンス(PIG Nonwovens)から入手できるレティキュロン(RETICULON*)を商標とする有孔フィルム(コード6012)がガーゼ付絆創膏用の創傷接触パッドを準備するために用いられた。このフィルムは滑らかな上側面および下側面を有していた。このフィルムの開いた領域の面積は約28%であった。
トレデガー(TREDEGAR)有孔フィルム(コードX−6944)がこの実施例2の創傷接触パッドを製造するのに用いられた。この有孔フィルムの一方の主面は以下に記載される吸収性の不織布内に向かって面するように配置された突起を有していた。この有孔フィルムは約13%の開いた領域の面積を有していた。
この実施例3は実施例2と同じ有孔フィルム、すなわちトレデガー有孔フィルム(コードX−6944)を用いた。このフィルムの突起は、上記の実施例2で用いられた同じ不織布、すなわちコード171−6−6からなる吸収性の不織布内に向かって面していた。
米国特許第6,566,577号(その開示内容の全体が本明細書で参照文献として引用される。)の図2および図3に特定的に開示されかつ例示され米国特許第3,054,148号に開示されたメッシュ穿孔方法によって製造されたタイプのポリエチレンメチルアクリレート(EMA)フィルムがこの実施例4の有孔フィルムとして用いられた。有孔フィルムは繊維ベルト上のEMAフィルムをメッシュ穿孔することによって製造された。メッシュ穿孔されたEMAフィルムの表面は地面の部分(米国特許第6,566,577号の図2の符号6で示されている。)を含んでいた。このEMAフィルムの裏面は米国特許第6,566,577号の図3に示されているように滑らかであった。EMAフィルムはその滑らかな裏面が以下に記載される吸収性の不織布の一方の主面に接触するように配置された。EMAフィルムは4.2%の開いた領域の面積を有していた。
実施例2で用いられたものと同じトレデガーの有孔フィルム(コードX−6944)がこの実施例5の創傷接触パッドを製造するために用いられた。有孔フィルムはその突起が以下に記載される不織布内に向けて面するように配置された。
トレデガーの有孔フィルム(コードX−6845)がこの実施例6の創傷接触パッドを製造するために用いられた。この有孔フィルムは実質的に13%の開いた領域の面積を有していた。この有孔フィルムの一方の主面は吸収性の不織布内に向けて面するように配置された突起を有していた。この実施例で用いられた吸収性の不織布はピー・ジー・アイ・ノンウォーブンスから入手できる2層構造のコード171−6−4であった。この吸収性の不織布の表面層は全体が10.0dpfのPE/PET複合繊維からなり、25gsmの基本重量を有していた。吸収性の不織布の第2の層は25gsmの基本重量を有し、90重量%の3.0dpfのPE/PET複合繊維と10重量%の1.5dpfのレーヨン繊維との混合物を含んでいた。コード171−6−6不織布の密度は0.025g/ccであった。
上記の実施例の各々に対して選択された有孔フィルムが選択された吸収性の不織布の一方の主面に接着剤によって積層された。突起を有するフィルムでは、突起が吸収性の不織布の一方の主面内に向かって面するように整合された。各実施例では、選択されたフィルムおよび選択された不織布は熱溶融型接着剤用のノードソン(Nordson)イオン化溶射システムを用いて積層された。これらの実施例に用いられた熱溶融型接着剤はエイ・ティー・オー−ファインドレイ(ATO−Findley)の3210−02であった。同様にして、表面層15は次に不織布のもう一方の主面に積層された。表面層15が突起を備えた有孔フィルムからなる場合には、突起は吸収性の不織布内に向かって面するようにされた。
吸収性の不織布の5.08cm×5.08cm(2インチ×2インチ)の標本が切り出され、エームズの厚みゲージ(モデル番号94−077)の下に配置された。厚みゲージの脚部が試験標本の上に下ろされて、脚部によって5.63g/cm2 (0.08ポンド/平方インチ:0.08psi)の圧力が加えられた。標本の厚みが記録された。標本は次にはかりに載せられて重量が測定された。吸収性の不織布の密度が標本の重量を標本の面積および厚みで除算することによって求められた。
7.62cm×10.16cm(3インチ×4インチ)の標本が重量を測定され1重量%の食塩水400ミリリットル(ml)を収容したビーカー内に配置された。標本が10分間に亘って浸漬された。標本が取り出され2分間に亘ってつるされて余分な食塩水が滴下されて除去された。標本が水平面に配置されて、アメリカ合衆国イリノイ州バタビア(Batavia)のブイ・ダブリュー・アール(VWR)から入手できるワットマン(Whatman)・コード1001−918濾紙の一片が標本の上に置かれた。1.5gの錘が30秒間に亘って濾紙の上に置かれた。30秒が経過した後に、錘が取り除かれて濾紙の重量が測定された。次に濾紙が再び30秒間だけ標本の上に置かれて再び重量が測定された。この手順が濾紙の重量の連続した測定値の差が0.5g未満になるまで繰り返された。この平衡状態に到達した後に、標本の重量が測定された。最終的な容量が乾燥した試験標本の重量を平衡状態に到達した湿った試験標本の重量から減算することによって算出された。
ガーゼ付絆創膏では、ガーゼ付絆創膏の創傷と接触する層が創傷にくっつかないことが重要である。創傷解放試験は創傷にくっつかないという点に関してガーゼ付絆創膏の品質を求めるために用いられる。実施例で準備された吸収性の物品が検査され、良好な創傷解放特性で知られた2つの市販されている製品と比較された。試験はメスのヨークシャー豚で行われた。試験の前日、豚が鎮痛剤を飲まされ毛衣が豚の背中および脇腹から電気バリカンを用いて除去された。脱毛ローションが毛衣の除去された領域に塗付された。10分後に、脱毛ローションが金属製のへらを用いて除去された。その領域が肌にやさしい石鹸で洗浄されてふき取られて乾燥された。次の日、豚が鎮痛剤を飲まされて一列に並んだ12個の2.5cm×2.5cmの表面の創傷が両方の脇腹に脊柱と平行にブラウン皮膚採取器セットを用いて0.08cmの深さで形成された。創傷はガーゼスポンジを用いてふき取られガーゼ付絆創膏が脊柱と直角をなして貼り付けられた。伸縮性の包帯が試験されるガーゼ付絆創膏の上に装着されてガーゼ付絆創膏が動いたり剥がれたりするのが防止された。

- 実質的に0.01g/ccから実質的に0.05g/ccまでの密度を有し、第1の主面および第2の主面を備えた吸収性の不織布と、
上記不織布の上記第1の主面および上記第2の主面の少なくとも一方に取り付けられた有孔フィルムと

を有する、吸収性の物品の製造方法。 - 吸収性の物品が、おむつ、生理用パッド、およびガーゼ付絆創膏のうちのいずれかひとつである、請求項9記載の方法。
- 有孔フィルムの第1の主面が突起を有する、請求項9記載の方法。
