Abstract
【解決手段】第1基板100と、第1基板に形成されて光信号を伝送する光導波路111と、第1基板に光導波路を中心に対称的に形成された光学系整列用ダミ導波路112a,bと、第1基板上に接合された第2基板200と、光導波路111と光学的に連結されるように第2基板の裏面に搭載された光学素子210,220,230と、ダミ導波路に対応するように第2基板の裏面に形成された光学系整列用パターン260a,bとを有し、光学系整列用ダミ導波路と光学系整列用パターンの整列により光導波路と光学素子が光学的に整列することを特徴とする。

Claims (12)
- 第1基板と、
前記第1基板に形成されて光信号を伝送する少なくとも一つの光導波路と、
前記第1基板に、前記光導波路を中心に対称的に形成された光学系整列用ダミ導波路と、
前記第1基板上に接合された第2基板と、
前記光導波路と光学的に連結されるように前記第2基板の裏面に搭載された少なくとも一つの光学素子と、
前記ダミ導波路に対応するように前記第2基板の裏面に形成された光学系整列用パターンとを含んでおり、
前記光学系整列用ダミ導波路と前記光学系整列用パターンの整列により前記光導波路と前記光学素子が光学的に整列することを特徴とする光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。 - 第2基板の前面が第1基板上に接合される請求項1記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 光学素子は、活性面が第2基板の裏面を向いており、フリップチップボンディングにより接合される請求項1または請求項2記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 光学素子のフリップチップボンディングのために該光学素子の活性面の縁に形成された金属パッドを含む請求項3記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 光導波路は3分岐構造である請求項1記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 3分岐の光導波路とそれぞれ光学的に連結されるように第2基板の裏面に搭載された一つの光検出素子と第1及び第2垂直空胴表面放射レーザとを含んで構成される請求項5記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 第1及び第2垂直空胴表面放射レーザから放出される特定波長の光を選択的に通過または反射するように前記第1及び第2垂直空胴表面放射レーザの活性面に対応する第2基板の前面に形成された波長分割多重フィルタをさらに含む請求項6記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 3分岐光導波路とそれぞれ光学的に連結されるように第2基板の裏面に搭載された一つの垂直空胴表面放射レーザと第1及び第2光検出素子とを含んで構成される請求項5記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 第1及び第2光検出素子に入射される特定波長の光を選択的に通過または反射するように前記第1及び第2光検出素子の活性面に対応する第2基板の前面に形成された波長分割多重フィルタをさらに含む請求項8記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 波長分割多重フィルタは薄膜コーティング技術による薄膜フィルタである請求項7または請求項9記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 光学系整列用パターンは金属薄膜または誘電体薄膜である請求項1記載の光導波路と光学素子の結合構造。
- 光導波路素子と光学素子との間の光結合のための光学系整列方法において、
前記光導波路素子の基板に光導波路を中心に対称的に光学系整列用ダミ導波路を形成すると共に、前記光学素子が搭載された基板に前記光学素子を中心に対称的に光学系整列用パターンを形成して、
前記光学系整列用ダミ導波路と前記光学系整列用パターンの整列により光学的に整列させることを特徴とする光学系整列方法。
