Abstract
【解決手段】 顎部アセンブリであって、近位の部分とピボット軸を画定する遠位の部分とを有するクレビス514と、クレビスに連結された第1の顎部518と、近位のタングを有しピボット軸566を中心にしてクレビスに回動可能に連結された第2の顎部520とを有し、第1の顎部および第2の顎部が顎部アセンブリの第1の外径D1を画定し、第2の顎部がピボット軸が延在する位置で第1の外径よりも大きい第2の外径D2を画定する。

「試験No.1」、「試験No.2」、および「試験No.3」で表示された第1のプロトタイプでは、管状コイル12は0.2286cm(0.09インチ)の外径および0.1524cm(0.06インチ)の内径を有する。クリップ前進ワイヤ30は0.04318cm(0.017インチ)の外径を有し、エンドエフェクタ22,24は各々0.02794cm(0.011インチ)の外径を有する。エンドエフェクタワイヤ22,24の近位の端部は4994g(11ポンド)の力で引かれ、その結果管状コイル12が曲げられた程度(5.08cm(2インチ)のループを形成するように管状コイルを巻くことによってモデル化された。)に応じてエンドエフェクタワイヤの遠位の端部でほぼ2270g(5ポンド)から4540g(10ポンド)までの力が生じ、すなわち摩擦損が伝達される力を減らす。さらに、どのような力がエンドエフェクタワイヤ22,24の遠位の端部に伝達されるにせよ、顎部タング168からピボット166までの距離は顎部(アンビル184)の端部からピボット166までの距離に比べてかなり短くて約1/5の比なので、約1/5の力のみが顎部に加えられることが注意される。したがって、4994g(11ポンド)の入力された力は顎部18,20で454g(1ポンド)から908g(2ポンド)の力となる。そのような引張力の供給は押込み力が伝達される使用時の状態を模擬したものである。

「試験No.8」、および「試験No.9」で表示された第4のプロトタイプでは、管状コイル12は0.21844cm(0.086インチ)の外径および0.13462cm(0.053インチ)の内径を有し、クリップ前進ワイヤ30は0.04318cm(0.017インチ)の外径を有し、エンドエフェクタワイヤ22,24は0.02286cm(0.009インチ)の外径を有する。ループを形成せずに延在する管状コイル12では、3632g(8ポンド)の入力された押込み力は2091g(4.61ポンド)の出力された押込み力をもたらした。ふたつの5.08cm(2インチ)のループを形成して延在する管状コイル12では、3632g(8ポンド)の入力された押込み力は1941.3g(4.28ポンド)の出力された押込み力をもたらした。
「試験No.10」で表示された第5のプロトタイプでは、器具10のクリップ前進ワイヤ30およびエンドエフェクタワイヤ22,24の外径は実施例4と等しい。管状コイル12は0.21844cm(0.086インチ)の外径および0.13716cm(0.054インチ)の内径を有する。ループを形成せずに延在する管状コイル12では、3632g(8ポンド)の入力された押込み力は2004.9g(4.42ポンド)の出力された押込み力をもたらした。
「試験No.11」で表示された第5のプロトタイプでは、器具10のクリップ前進ワイヤ30およびエンドエフェクタワイヤ22,24の外径は実施例4と等しい。管状コイル12は0.21082cm(0.083インチ)の外径および0.13716cm(0.054インチ)の内径を有する。ループを形成せずに延在する管状コイル12では、3632g(8ポンド)の入力された押込み力は2345g(5.17ポンド)の出力された押込み力をもたらした。

(4)第2の外径が第1の外径よりも5%以上15%以下だけ大きい、請求項1記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(5)第2の外径が実質的に3.5mmである、請求項1記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(b)第1の顎部が近位の部分および遠位の部分を有し、
(c)第2の顎部が近位の部分および遠位の部分を有し、
上記第2の顎部の上記近位の部分が上記クレビス上に上記第2の顎部が上記第1の顎部に対して回動する中心となるピボット軸を画定し、
上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部の上記近位の端部が顎部アセンブリを中心として半径方向に上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部の上記遠位の部分を越えて延在する円周リッジを画定する、請求項1記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(7)円周リッジがクレビスを越えて半径方向に延在する、上記実施態様(6)記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(8)第1の顎部および第2の顎部の遠位の部分が第1の外径を画定し、円周リッジが第2の外径を画定し、上記第2の顎部の近位の部分がタング開口を画定し、
ピボット軸および上記タング開口の間の距離が上記円周リッジが上記第1の外径である場合に比べて構造上より大きくされる、上記実施態様(6)記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(9)第1の顎部および第2の顎部の遠位の部分が第1の外径を画定し、円周リッジが上記第1の外径よりも少なくとも5%だけ大きい第2の外径を画定する、上記実施態様(6)記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(10)第1の顎部および第2の顎部の遠位の部分が第1の外径を画定し、円周リッジが上記第1の外径よりも15%以下だけ大きい第2の外径を画定する、上記実施態様(9)記載の顎部アセンブリ。
(12)第1の直径が実質的に3.5mmである、請求項4記載の内視鏡的アセンブリ。
(13)遠位のエンドエフェクタアセンブリが顎部アセンブリである、請求項4記載の内視鏡的アセンブリ。
(14)第1の直径が第2の直径より少なくとも5%だけ大きい、請求項4記載の内視鏡的アセンブリ。

Claims (4)
- 顎部アセンブリであって、
(a)近位の部分とピボット軸を画定する遠位の部分とを有するクレビスと、
(b)上記クレビスに連結された第1の顎部と、
(c)近位のタングを有し上記ピボット軸を中心にして上記クレビスに回動可能に連結された第2の顎部と
を有し、
上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部が上記顎部アセンブリの第1の外径を画定し、上記第2の顎部が上記ピボット軸が延在する位置で上記第1の外径よりも大きい第2の外径を画定する、顎部アセンブリ。 - エンドエフェクタアセンブリであって、
(a)近位の端部および遠位の端部を有する管状部材と、
(b)上記遠位の端部に連結され、(1)近位の部分とピボット軸を画定する遠位の部分とを有するクレビスと、(2)上記クレビスに連結された第1の顎部と、(3)近位のタングを有し上記ピボット軸を中心にして上記第1の顎部に回動可能に連結された第2の顎部とを含む顎部アセンブリであって、上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部が上記顎部アセンブリの第1の外径を画定し、上記第2の顎部が上記ピボット軸が延在する位置で上記第1の外径よりも大きい第2の外径を画定する、上記顎部アセンブリと、
(c)上記第2の顎部を上記第1の顎部に対して動かすための駆動手段と
を有する、エンドエフェクタアセンブリ。 - 内視鏡的外科用器具であって、
(a)近位の端部および遠位の端部を有する管状部材と、
(b)上記遠位の端部に連結され、(1)近位の部分および遠位の部分を有するクレビスと、(2)近位の部分および遠位の部分を有する第1の顎部と、(3)上記クレビス上に上記第1の顎部に対して回動する中心となるピボット軸を画定する近位の部分および遠位の部分を有する第2の顎部とを含む顎部アセンブリであって、上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部の上記近位の部分が上記顎アセンブリを中心として半径方向に上記第1の顎部および上記第2の顎部の上記遠位の部分を越えて延在する円周リッジを画定する、上記顎アセンブリと、
(c)上記第2の顎部を上記第1の顎部に対して動かすための駆動手段と
を有する、内視鏡的外科用器具。 - 内視鏡的アセンブリであって、
(a)第1の直径の作業チャネルを有する内視鏡と、
(b)上記作業チャネル内に延在する内視鏡的器具であって、隆起した部分および隆起していない部分が画定されるように周縁部に沿ってリッジが設けられた遠位のエンドエフェクタアセンブリを含み、上記隆起した部分が上記第1の直径にほぼ等しい外径を有し、上記隆起していない部分が上記第1の直径より小さい第2の直径を有する、上記内視鏡的器具と
を有する、内視鏡的アセンブリ。
