色素-画像受理層内に使用するためのポリエステルを合成する下記の例は本発明の代表例であり、他のポリエステルを同様にまたは当業者に知られている他の方法により調製することができる。
ポリエステルE-5をNOVATECH乾燥剤使用乾燥器内で43℃で24時間にわたって乾燥させる。乾燥器には二次熱交換器を設け、これにより乾燥剤再充填中に温度が43℃を超えないようにする。露点は-40℃である。
本発明の一つの態様に従うポリエステル中の枝分かれ効果を示すために、一方は枝分かれ剤を有さず(上記構造を有するE-1)、他方は2%枝分かれ剤を有する(上記構造を有するE-5)2種のポリエステルを形成した。百分率はポリエステルのポリオールモノマー成分を基準とする。これらのポリエステルを240℃で長さと直径との比40:1の27mm LEISTRITZ配合機内にフィードすることにより、同時押出しのための調製に際してポリエステルをペレット化した。次いでペレットを43℃で16時間にわたって乾燥し、そして70/30ポリエステル/ポリプロピレン混合物から成るつなぎ層と同時押出しした。ポリエステルとつなぎ層との質量比は3:1であり、溶融温度は238℃であった。二つの層を、ダイギャップ1mmの500mm幅のダイを通して同時押出しした。ダイ出口と、チルロールおよび圧縮ロールの間のニップとの間隔は140mmであった。ポリプロピレン・積層体、つなぎ層および紙とから成るウェブをやはりニップに通し、押出し物を、ポリプロピレン側と接触した状態でつなぎ層と一緒に急冷した。
ポリエステル中のポリオール成分を基準として1%、2%および3%の枝分かれ剤を有するポリエステルの押出し特性を示すために、試験を行った。これらのポリエステルを溶融配合機内で他の材料と混合することにより、色生成を改善した。3種全ての混合物の配合は下記の通りである:
General Electricから入手した27.5%LEXAN 141ビスフェノールAポリカーボネート
Dow Chemから入手した8%MB50-10シリコーン組成物
4%ジオクチルセバケート
Witco. Chem. Co.から入手した4%Drapex 429ブチレングリコールアジペート
General Electricから入手した0.2%WESTON 619安定剤
本発明による色素受理層のための下記の配合物を形成した:
2%枝分かれ剤を有する70.07%ポリエステル
12.78%LEXAN 151 ビスフェノールAポリカーボネート
5.13%ジオクチルセバケート
12.0%MB50-315シリコーン
0.02%亜リン酸
下記の層を6μmポリエチレンテレフタレート支持体上に順番に塗被することにより、シアン、マゼンタおよびイエロー色素の連続的な領域の色素供与体要素を調製した:
(1)n-プロピルアセテートおよび1-ブタノール溶剤混合物から塗被されたTYZOR TBT(チタニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド)(DuPont Co.)(0.12g/m2)の下塗り層。

下記手順および組成物を用いて感熱受理体要素を調製した:
Claims (3)
- ポリエステルコポリマーを有する画像受理層を一方の側に有する支持体を含んでなる画像記録要素であって、該ポリエステルコポリマーが、
(a) 反復する、二塩基酸誘導型単位とポリオール誘導型単位とを含み、該二塩基酸誘導型単位の50モル%以上が、環の炭素数4〜10の脂環式環をそれぞれ含有するジカルボン酸誘導型単位を含み、該環は、対応するジカルボン酸の各カルボキシル基の2つの炭素原子以内にあり、
(b) 該ポリオール誘導型単位の25〜75モル%が、該対応するポリオールの各ヒドロキシル基に直接には隣接しない芳香族環を含有し、そして
(c) 該ポリエステルのポリオール誘導型単位の25〜75モル%が、環の炭素数4〜10の脂環式環を含む、画像記録要素。 - (a)請求項1に記載の画像記録要素を、(b)色素層を有する支持体を含む色素供与体要素と組み合わせて含んでなる感熱色素転写集成体であって、
前記色素層が前記画像受理層と接触するように、前記画像記録要素が前記色素供与体要素と重ね合わされた関係にある感熱色素転写集成体。 - 色素層を有する支持体を含む色素供与体要素を像様加熱し、そして、請求項1に記載の画像記録要素に色素画像を転写して、色素転写画像を形成することを含む色素転写画像の形成方法。
