Abstract
【解決手段】 複数のゲートラインとデータラインとが交差して、赤色、緑色及び青色画素がマトリックス状に配列される液晶表示パネル200と、前記各ゲートラインに走査信号を印加するゲート駆動部240と、複数の階調を有する赤色、緑色及び青色中少なくとも一つの色に対して階調が増加することで、色再現率が低下する階調から最上位階調までの階調値として、色再現率が低下する直前の階調の階調値が保存されるルックアップテーブル260と、前記ルックアップテーブル260の階調値により画像情報を補正するデータ処理部270と、前記データ処理部270から補正された画像情報の入力を受けて前記液晶表示パネル200の各データラインに印加するデータ駆動部250と、を含んで液晶表示装置を構成する。

Description
又、液晶表示装置の画質が低下することで消費者の不満が増大し、表示装置の市場における液晶表示装置の競争力が低下するという不都合な点があった。
図1は本発明に係る液晶表示装置の第1実施形態のブロック構成を示した例示図で、図2は本発明に係る液晶表示装置の色再現率向上方法の第1実施形態を示したフローチャートである。

Claims (8)
- 複数のゲートラインとデータラインとが交差して、赤色、緑色及び青色の画素がマトリックス状に配列される液晶表示パネルと、前記各ゲートラインに走査信号を印加するゲート駆動部と、複数の階調を有する赤色、緑色及び青色中少なくとも一つの色に対して階調が増加することで、色再現率が低下する階調から最上位階調までの階調値として、色再現率が低下する直前の階調の階調値が保存されるルックアップテーブルと、前記ルックアップテーブルの階調値により画像情報を補正するデータ処理部と、前記データ処理部から補正された画像情報の入力を受けて前記液晶表示パネルの各データラインに印加するデータ駆動部と、を含んで構成されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 前記ルックアップテーブルには、青色の階調値が保存されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記青色の階調は、64ビットであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記青色は、52ビットの階調から色再現率が低下することを特徴とする請求項3記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ルックアップテーブルに保存された青色の階調52ビットから最上位階調64ビットまでの階調値は、51ビットの階調値と同様であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ルックアップテーブルに保存された52ビットから64ビットまでの階調値は、赤色、緑色及び青色中少なくとも二つの階調値が混合されて保存されることを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶表示装置。
- 複数の階調を有する赤色、緑色及び青色中少なくとも一つの色に対して階調を増加しながら、液晶表示パネルに表示されるカラーを測定して色再現率が低下した階調を検出する段階と、前記色再現率が低下した階調から最上位階調までの階調値として、色再現率が低下する直前の階調の階調値を保存する段階と、前記階調値により画像情報を補正する段階と、前記補正された画像情報を液晶表示パネルの各データラインに印加する段階と、を行うことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の色再現率向上方法。
- 前記色再現率が低下した階調は、64ビットの階調を有する青色の52ビットの階調であることを特徴とする請求項7記載の液晶表示装置の色再現率向上方法。
