Description
PEM燃料電池は、現在、最も有望な燃料電池技術であると考えられており、任意の燃料電池の最も単純な反応のうちの1つを使用する。図1を参照すると、PEM燃料電池は、一般に、4つの基本要素、すなわち、負極(燃料極)(20)と、正極(空気極)(22)と、電解質(PEM)(24)と、電解質(24)の両側に配置された触媒(26)とを含む。
上述したように、説明した燃料電池の各々は、酸素と水素とを使用して電気を生成する。燃料電池に必要な酸素は、通常、空気から供給される。実際には、PEM燃料電池の場合、大気状態において通常の空気がポンプによって正極に供給される。しかしながら、水素は酸素のように容易に入手可能ではない。

Claims (10)
- 水素発生装置(42)であって、
化学反応室(60)と、
化学溶液貯蔵器(56)と、
化学溶液を前記化学溶液貯蔵器(56)から前記化学反応室(60)へ移動させるための無動力圧力生成部材(58)と、及び
前記化学反応室(60)の周りに配置された分散型触媒床(59)とを備える水素発生装置。 - 前記化学反応室(60)が剛性であり、前記化学溶液貯蔵器(56)が可撓性であって前記化学反応室(60)内に収容される、請求項1記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記分散型触媒床(59)の周りに配置され、燃料電池(40)と流体連通するガス収集シェル(63)をさらに含む、請求項1記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記ガス収集シェル(63)と前記分散型触媒床(59)との間に配置された疎水性膜(61)をさらに含む、請求項3記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記化学反応室(60)と前記化学溶液貯蔵器(56)との間に配置された電動制御バルブ(66)をさらに含む、請求項1記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記電動制御バルブ(66)が、燃料電池のスタック電圧を監視し、そのスタック電圧の変化に応答して前記制御バルブの周波数、パルス幅、または開口寸法のうちの1つまたは複数を調整する電子コントローラを含む、請求項5記載の水素発生装置。
- 前記電子コントローラが、ユーザ設定と、構成設定と、ガス圧力と、燃料電池電流と、燃料電池電力とのうちの1つまたは複数を監視し、監視した変化に応答して、前記制御バルブ(66)の前記周波数、パルス幅、または開口寸法のうちの1つまたは複数を調整する、請求項6記載の水素発生装置。
- 水素を発生させる方法であって、
燃料溶液を収容する可撓性バッグ(56)に偏倚力を与えることにより前記燃料溶液を前記可撓性バッグ(56)から分散型触媒床(59)によって実質的に包囲された反応室(60)に移動させることを含む、方法。 - 前記可撓性バッグ(56)から前記反応室(60)を実質的に包囲する前記分散型触媒床(59)を通過する前記燃料溶液の移動を計量するために、前記可撓性バッグ(56)と前記反応室(60)との間に配置されたバルブ(66)を制御することをさらに含む、請求項8記載の方法。
- 燃料電池スタック電圧と、ユーザ設定と、構成設定と、水素ガス圧力と、燃料電池電流と、燃料電池電力とのうちの1つまたは複数を監視することと、その監視に従って前記バルブ(66)を制御することとをさらに含む、請求項9記載の方法。
