式、バスケット式等の搬送手段を内設しその外側に所定
の空間を設けて外側ケーシングを取り付け、この空間部
に熱風を吹き込んだ。これにより投入口から投入された
材料は搬送手段による搬送中に加熱され、材料を一定の
温度に調整したり、水分の一部を蒸発させることができ
る。即ち、投入口に投入される材料の温度がばらついて
も排出口での材料温度が一定になると後工程の炭化装置
や乾燥装置への材料投入温度が一定になり装置の加熱条
件が安定するように作用する。また、後工程が炭化装置
の場合には乾留が行われる前に水分を充分に蒸発させな
いと炭化品質の安定化や、乾留ガスの高温燃焼化が図ら
れないが、本発明によるコンベア装置によれば炭化装置
に投入される前に材料の水分量を減少させることができ
るので炭化品質の安定化が図られると同時に装置の小型
化が図られ、乾留ガスの高温燃焼が容易になりダイオキ
シンの発生を押さえるように作用する。なお、熱風を直
接、内側ケーシング内に吹き込むと搬送中の材料の一部
が熱風にて燃焼したり、異臭ガスを発生する恐れがあ
り、内側ケーシングの外側に外側ケーシングを設けて、
その間に熱風を吹き込んだものである。内側と外側ケー
シングの間の空間に熱風を分流または整流するための仕
切り板を取り付けるとこの空間にふき込まれた熱風はこ
の仕切り板により内側ケーシング内を均等に流れるので
材料の加熱が均一になると同時に細長いケーシングに曲
がり、ひずみが生じにくくなるように作用し、しかも熱
伝達効率も高くなる。細長いコンベア装置の一方の端部
からこの内側と外側ケーシングの間に熱風を吹き込み、
他方の端部より熱風を排出させるとその間に熱風の温度
が低下するので外側ケーシングの外周を保温材で被覆し
保温するとこの低下を小さくすることができ、熱風の吹
き込み位置を例えば端部の一ヶ所と中央部付近等に吹き
込み位置を複数にして分散させるとケーシング内の温度
がより均一になる。
