Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.患者の身体内の構造上の目標部位に電気エネルギーを印加する電気外科用 器具において、 基端部及び末端部を有するシャフトと、 該シャフトの前記末端に配置された1つ以上の活性電極であって、該活性電極 は各々表面ジオメトリを備えた活性部をゆうしており、該表面ジオメトリは、高 周波電圧が前記電極に印加されると、前記活性部と前記目標部位との間で高電界 強さを実質的に促進するように構成されている1つ以上の活性電極と、 前記シャフトの前記基端部近傍に配置されて前記電極を高周波電圧源に電気的 に接続するコネクタとを備えていることを特徴とする電気外科用器具。 2.各電極の前記活性部の前記表面ジオメトリが、導電性液体を蒸発させて前 記活性電極の少なくとも前記活性部上に薄い層を形成すると共に、該蒸気層から エネルギーの放出を惹起するのに十分な電界強さを発生させることを特徴とする 請求項1に記載の器具。 3.各電極の前記活性部が、前記末端部に1つ以上の鋭利な縁を備えて、局部 的電界を前記縁の回りに促進することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 4.各電極の前記活性部が、表面凹凸を備えて、該表面凹凸近傍で局部電界を 促進することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 5.更に、前記活性電極の近傍に配置されると共に、前記コネクタに電気連結 された帰電極を備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 6.更に、前記帰電極及び前記目標部位と連絡した液体路を備えて、導電性液 体を前記活性電極と前記帰電極との間に指向して、前 記目標部位と前記帰電極との間に電流流路を発生させることを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の器具。 7.各電極の前記活性部が非円形断面形状を画成する請求項1に記載の器具。 8.各電極の前記活性部が本質的に、環状、正方形、長方形、L字状、V字状 、D字状、C字状、星形及び十字形から成るグループから選択し断面形状を画成 することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 9.前記電極がフォーミングダイを通して丸いワイヤを引いて形成されること を特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 10.前記電極が、丸い中実な電極から材料を除去することから形成されるこ とを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 11.前記電極が、各々、横断溝が形成された細長い本体を備えて、局部的電 界を前記溝の回りに促進することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 12.前記電極が、各々、円周方に溝が形成された細長いねじの切られたロッ ドをそなえて、局部的電界を前記溝の回りに促進することを特徴とする請求項1 に記載の器具。 13.前記シャフトの前記末端部が、円筒状支持部材を備えており、前記電極 が各々該支持部材を収容する内部穴を有した環状電極であることを特徴とする請 求項1に記載の器具。 14.前記環状電極が、先細りした側壁を有しており、該側壁の厚さが支持部 材の部位で大きくされて、隣接した環状電極間で溝を画成して、前記電極の周辺 部の回りで局部電界を促進するようにされると共に、前記環状電極が互いに電気 接触していることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の器具。 15.前記環状電極が互いに前記支持部材に沿って長手方向に隔 置されていることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の器具。 16.更に、各々前記支持部材を収容する穴を有し、且つ、前記環状電極間に 配置されて前記環状電極を互いに絶縁する電気絶縁するスペーサを備えているこ とを特徴とする請求項13に記載の器具。 17.前記表面凹凸が化学的エッチ液により形成されていることを特徴とする 請求項4に記載の器具。 18.前記表面凹凸が摩耗可能な材料から形成されていることを特徴とする請 求項4に記載の器具。 19.前記電極が各々非活性部を画成し、前記器具が、更に、各電極の前記非 活性部を被覆する電気絶縁材料から成り、電流を活性部を介して選択的に指向す ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 20.患者の身体内の構造上の目標部位に電気エネルギーを印加する電気外科 用器具において、 基端部及び末端部を有するシャフトと、 前記シャフトの前記末端部近傍に配置され、1つ囲繞の活性部と1つ以上の非 活性部とを有した少なくとも1つの電極と、 前記電極の前記非活性部を被覆して、前記目標部位から前記非活性部を絶縁し て、該非活性部を介して選択的に電流を指向する電気絶縁する材料と、 前記シャフトの基端部近傍に配置されて、前記電極を高周波電圧源に電気連結 するコネクタとを備えていることを特徴とする患者の身体内の構造上の目標部位 に電気エネルギーを印加する電気外科用器具。 21.前記電気絶縁する材料が前記電極の非活性部の表面上のプラズマ蒸着さ れた被覆を備えていることを特徴とする請求項20に 記載の器具。 22.前記電気絶縁材料が前記電極の非活性部の表面上に薄膜蒸着された絶縁 材料を備えていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の器具。 23.前記電気絶縁材料が前記電極の非活性部の表面上に浸清被覆された絶縁 材料を備えていることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の器具。 24.前記電極の非活性部が電気絶縁する支持部材に取り付けられていること を特徴とする請求項20に記載の器具。 25.前記支持部材が、該支持部材の表面に形成された1つ以上の長手方向の 溝を有した細長い支持部材を備えており、前記器具が、前記支持部材に取り付け られた複数の電極を含んで、前記非活性部が前記溝内の表面に接触して、前記目 標部位から前記非活性部を絶縁するようにされていることを特徴とする請求項2 4に記載の器具。 26.更に、前記電極の前記非活性部に取り付けられて、該非活性部を前記目 標部位から絶縁する複数の分離した電気絶縁材料を備えていることを特徴とする 請求項20に記載の器具。 27.前記電極の前記活性部が、高周波電圧が前記電極に印加されると、前記 活性部と前記目標部位との間に高電界強さを実質的に促進するように構成された 表面ジオメトリを有していることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の器具。 28.高周波電源及び導電性液体源と共に使用する電気外科用装置において、 基端部及び末端部を有するシャフトと、前記末端近傍に配置された1つ以上の 活性電極と、前記シャフトの前記基端部近傍の前記電極を高周波電圧源に電気的 に接続するコネクタとを備え、前記活性 電極は各々表面ジオメトリを備えた活性部をゆうしており、該表面ジオメトリは 、高周波電圧が前記電極に印加されると、前記活性部と前記目標部位との間で高 電界強さを実質的に促進するように構成されており、且つ 前記電気外科用電源に電気連結されるようにされた帰電極とを備えている電気 外科用プローブを備えていることを特徴とする電気外科用装置。 29.前記電気外科用プローブが前記導電性液体供給源からの液路を画成し、 該液路が前記帰電極及び前記活性電極と及び該帰電極及び該活性電極との間で電 気接触して、前記帰電極及び前記活性電極との間に電流流路を発生させるように されていることを特徴とする請求項28に記載の装置。 30.各電極の前記活性部が、1つ以上の鋭利な縁を備えて、局部的電界を前 記縁の回りに促進することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の器具。 31.各電極の前記活性部が、表面凹凸を有して該表面凹凸近傍で局部的電界 を促進することを特徴とする請求項28に記載の装置。 32.少なくとも各活性電極の前記活性部が導電性液体の存在する前記目標部 位に緊密に近接して配置され、該活性部の表面ジオメトリが、前記導電性液体を 蒸発させて少なくとも前記活性電極の一部上で薄い層を形成すると共に、該蒸気 層からのエネルギーの放出を惹起するのに十分な高電界強さを促進することを特 徴とする請求項29に記載の装置。 33.前記活性電極が更に前記目標部位から絶縁された非活性部を備えて、該 活性部を介して電流を選択的に指向することを特徴とする請求項28に記載の装 置。 34.患者の身体内の構造上の目標部位に電気エネルギーを印加する方法にお いて、 1つ以上の活性電極の活性部を前記目標部位と少なくとも緊密に近接するよう に位置決めする段階と、 前記活性電極と帰電極に高周波電圧を印加して、電流が前記活性電極から前記 目標部位領域の身体構造を介して前記帰電極まで流れるようにする段階と、 実質的に高い、局部的電界強さを各活性電極の前記活性部と前記目標部位との 間に発生させる段階とを備えていることを特徴とする患者の身体内の構造上の目 標部位に電気エネルギーを印加する方法。 35.更に、前記活性電極を導電性液体内に配置する段階を備え、前記電界強 さが、前記導電性液体を蒸発させて、少なくとも前記活性電極の活性部上で薄い 層を形成すると共に、該蒸気層からエネルギーの放出を惹起するのに十分である ことを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 36.更に、局部的電界及び関連する電流密度を各電極の前記活性部の1つ以 上の縁の回りに発生させる段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載 の方法。 37.更に、前記帰電極を前記導電性液体内に配置して、前記目標部位と前記 帰電極との間に電流流路を発生させる段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項 34に記載の方法。 38.前記発生する段階が、前記活性電極の前記活性部上に表面凹凸を生成し て、該表面凹凸の近傍で局部的電界を促進するようにして実施することを特徴と する請求項34に記載の方法。 39.更に、各電極の活性部を非円形の横断断面形状を有した細長体から形成 する段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項38に 記載の方法。 40.各細長い電極体の断面形状が本質的に、環状、正方形、長方形、L字状 、V字状、D字状、C字状、星形及び十字形から成るグループから選択されるこ とを特徴とする請求項39に記載の方法。 41.更に、フォーミングダイを通して丸いワイヤを引くことで前記電極を形 成する段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 42.更に、丸い忠実なワイヤから材料を除去して前記電極を形成する段階を 備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 43.更に、横断方向の溝を活性電極にして、該溝の回りで局部的高電界強さ を促進する段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 44.更に、細長いネジの切られたロッドの回りに円周方向の溝を形成して該 該溝の回りで局部的高電界強さを促進する段階を備えていることを特徴とする請 求項34に記載の方法。 45.前記表面凹凸が化学的エッチ液により形成されることを特徴とする請求 項38に記載の方法。 46.前記表面凹凸が摩耗可能な材料から形成されることを特徴とする請求項 38に記載の方法。 47.更に、前記活性電極の非活性部を絶縁して前記活性部を介して電流を選 択的に指向する段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 48.更に、各活性電極の前記非活性部の表面上にプラズマ蒸着被覆を蒸着す る段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項47に記載の方法。 49.更に、各活性電極の前記非活性部の表面上に絶縁材料の薄膜を蒸着する 段階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項47に記載の方法。 50.更に、各活性電極の前記非活性部の表面上に絶縁材料を浸清被覆する段 階を備えていることを特徴とする請求項47に記載の方法。 51.更に、各活性電極の前記非活性部を電気絶縁支持部材に取り付ける段階 を備えていることを特徴とする請求項47に記載の方法。 52.患者の身体内の構造上の目標ぶいに電気エネルギーを印加する方法いお いて、 1つ以上の活性電極の活性部を導電性液体の存在する前記目標部位と少なくと も緊密に近接するように位置決めする段階と、 導電性液体中に帰電極を配置して前記目標部位と前記帰電極との間に電流流路 を発生する段階と 前記活性電極と帰電極に高周波電圧を印加して、電流が前記活性電極から前記 目標部位領域の身体構造を介して、前記電流流路を介して、前記帰電極まで流れ るようにする段階と、 実質的に高い、局部的電界強さを各活性電極の前記活性部と前記目標部位との 間に発生させる段階とを備え、前記電界強さが、前記液体を蒸発させて前記活性 電極表面の少なくとも一部の上で薄い層を形成すると共に、該蒸気層からエネル ギーの放出を惹起するのに十分であることを特徴とする患者の身体内の構造上の 目標部位に電気エネルギーを印加する方法。
