Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.無線通信システムにおいてトラフィック・チャネルを最適化する方法であっ て、当該方法は: 基地局がカバーする加入者サービス・エリアの一部をカバーする第1放射パ ターンでビーコンを送信する段階; 前記第1放射パターンで送信されたビーコンに関し、加入者が受信した前記 ビーコンの品質を測定する段階; 前記第1放射パターンを第2放射パターンに変更する段階; 前記第2放射パターンで送信されたビーコンに関し、加入者が受信した前記 ビーコンの品質を測定する段階;および 加入者が受信した第1および第2のビーコンの品質の測定値に応じて、前記 基地局がカバーする前記加入者サービス・エリアの一部をカバーする放射パター ンを有するトラフィック・チャネル放射パターンを選択する段階; より成ることを特徴とする方法。 2.前記ビーコンが前記トラフィック・チャネルと同一の周波数を有することを 更なる特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 3.トラフィック・チャネル放射パターンを選択する前記段階が: 第1および第2のビーコンの品質の測定値を比較する段階;および 第2のビーコンの品質の測定値が第1のビーコンの品質の測定値より大きい 場合に、前記第2放射パターンと実質的に同じトラフィック・チャネル放射パタ ーンを選択する段階; より成ることを更なる特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 4.さらに、 前記基地局がカバーする前記加入者サービス・エリアの選択された複数の部 分を各々カバーする複数の放射パターンを使用して、前記の変更する段階および 測定する段階を繰り返し行う段階; 閾値を越えるビーコンの品質の測定値に対応する複数の放射パターンを選択 する段階;および 前記複数の放射パターンのうち選択されたものに応じて、トラフィック・チ ャネル放射パターンを選択する段階; よりなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 5.前記ビーコンの品質の測定値がビーコン信号の強度測定値であることを特徴 とする請求項1記載の方法。 6.無線通信システムにおけるトラフィック・チャネルを最適化するシステムで あって: 基地局がカバーする加入者サービス・エリアの一部をカバーする第1放射パ ターンでビーコンを送信する手段; 前記第1放射パターンで送信された前記ビーコンに関し、加入者が受信した 品質を測定し、第1ビーコン品質測定値を求める手段; 前記第1放射パターンを最2放射パターンに変更する手段; 前記第2放射パターンで送信された前記ビーコンに関し、加入者が受信した 品質を測定し、第2ビーコン品質測定値を求める手段;および 前記第1および第2ビーコン品質測定値に応じて、前記基地局がカバーする 前記加入者サービス・エリアの一部をカバーする放射パターンを有するトラフィ ック・チャネル放射パターンを選択する手段; から構成されることを特徴とするシステム。 7.前記ビーコンが前記トラフィック・チャネルと同一の周波数を有することを 特徴とする請求項6記載のシステム。 8.前記トラフィック・チャネル放射パターンを選択する手段が: 前記第1および第2ビーコン品質測定値を比較する手段;および 前記第2ビーコン品質測定値が前記第1ビーコン品質測定値を超える場合に 前記第2放射パターンと実質的に同一のトラフィック・チャネル放射パターンを 選択する手段; から構成されることを特徴とする請求項6記載のシステム。 9.無線通信システムにおいてトラフィック・チャネルを最適化するシステムで あって: パターン選択可能なトランシーバ; 前記パターン選択可能なトランシーバに結合し、トラフィック信号を生成す るトラフィック・チャネル・ジェネレータ; 前記パターン選択可能なトランシーバに結合し、ビーコン信号を生成するビ ーコン・ジェネレータ;および 前記パターン選択可能なトランシーバに結合するプロセッサ; から構成され、前記プロセッサは: ビーコン・パターン・セレクタ; ビーコン品質レポート受信機;および 前記ビーコン品質レポート受信機に結合するトラフィック・チャネル・パタ ーン・セレクタ; から構成され、前記プロセッサは、前記ビーコン品質レポート受信機に応答 して、前記トラフィック信号および前記ビーコン信号の伝送パターンを制御する システム。 10.前記パターン選択可能なトランシーバが、トラフィック・チャネル変調器 および同一のキャリア周波数を有するビーコン変調器を含むことを更なる特徴と する請求項9記載のシステム。
