(57)【要約】 【課題】 シーム長全体に亘って実質的かつ同時に可塑
化された二つの接合面のそれぞれを保持するか、軟質化
し得ることである。 【解決手段】 透過ビーム溶接方法により、熱可塑性プ
ラスチックの二面(41,42)を接合させるに当た
り、被覆される面(42)を多様な形態でビーム走査さ
せ、被覆する面(41)に対してレーザビーム(10)
を増分的に方向付けて加熱する。この予熱は、溶融温度
に達するまで繰り返される。上記被覆される面(42)
の部域中では、溶融体が被覆する面(41)を同時に濡
らす結果、全シーム長に亘ってメルト付けを行い、これ
により前記面を熱伝導を利用して溶融体に変形させる。
材料の軟化が完了すると面(41,42)を相互にずら
して接触させる。この結果、二面(41,42)はまる
で全シーム長に亘って同時に可塑化が進行したかのよう
に、原則的には溶接が行われ、一方シールとシーム力と
が顕著に高められると共に、他方では装置経費が低めら
れる。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【技術分野と発明の背景】本発明は波長が赤外線帯域ま
たはその近辺に当るエネルギー線束を用いる、接合部の
溶接用、特に熱可塑性プラスチック接合用の溶接方法お
よび装置に関する。短波長の放射線は0.7から2.0
μmのものを用いることができる。可塑化操作中では,
二つの接合域または接合面は一致させて保持するか、ま
たは接触保持される。この方式にせよ別方式にせよ、ま
ず一つの接合域を他の接合域を可塑化するに先立ち可塑
化させておく。これにより第二の接合域は可塑化された
第一接合域で湿潤化され、この結果同様に熱伝導の操作
により可塑化される。
【0002】突合せ溶接の場合、両接合域は相互にただ
し同時に別々に可塑化され、次いで可塑化状態で相互に
圧力を加えて、溶接される。接触圧のため可塑化された
材料が、接合部から脱落して通常好ましくないビードを
形成することがある。加熱効果は動揺により、つまり接
合面での摩擦によりまたは両接合面の摩擦により発揮さ
れることがある。この結果妨害作用を引き起こし、多く
の生成物から除去困難な摩耗粒子を発生させる。これと
対照的に透過ビーム溶接の場合、一致した接合面に対し
ては、例えば露出した横断面および被覆された横断面の
接合域上の接合面を介して、溶接エネルギーが加えら
れ、この結果、接合面に接する接合域は横断面の一部層
またはフラックス層として可塑化される。従って以後フ
ラックス、相互横移動または接触圧により、可塑化材料
体で別の接合面を濡らし、その接合域が可塑化され溶接
が完了される。この溶接が接合部またはシームに沿って
逐次行われる場合、シームの域構成部分は完全に溶接が
完了済みで、一方他の部分は依然可塑性を示すか,また
は可塑化の必要性が要求される。これにより接合面の均
一な接触圧はシームに似た多くの部分で望むことが難し
く、融解による接合面の均一化も困難となる。しかし融
解によりそれぞれの接合面の形状および位置形成の許容
差を均等化させることができる。

ビーム操作することも考えられる。例えばダイオードレ
ーザーまたはビーム焦点を使って行うことができる。特
に溶接線が直線を示さない場合、このために複雑な装置
が必要とされる。これは別として、ビーム出力は形状の
様々な工作物には適合されない。

【発明の目的】本発明の目的の一つは、既知の配列また
は上記タイプの欠陥を防ぐことができる方法及び装置の
提供にある。本発明の別の目的は、シーム長全体に亘っ
て実質的かつ同時に可塑化された二つの接合面のそれぞ
れを保持するか、軟質化し得ることにある。事実この状
態のもとでは、接合すべき二組の横断面または構成部品
は、事前設定された方向に相互に位置占めされるべき
で、最終的には堅固な溶接部により接合されていなけれ
ばならない。さらに本発明の別の目的は、高負荷または
高圧のもとでは、シールされ、均等な張力を示すシーム
部分を保持させることにある。つまり、シーム部分に触
れるか、またはシーム部分と空間的に並置された横断面
の部分と同一張力を目指すことにある。本発明のさらに
別の目的はシームの形態には関係なく、エネルギー消費
の極めて少ない接合部を得ることにある。

【発明の概要】本発明によれば、接合面の一つだけまた
はその二つを作業温度または溶融温度よりわずかに低め
の中間温度に、全面的に予熱する。ここで遅くとも、接
合面を相互に接触させ、全体を予熱した接合面を最終溶
融温度にまで加熱する。ここで融成物つまり溶融体を使
って、シームの全長に亘って同時に他の接合面を溶融温
度まで加熱する。この操作により二つの接合域の溶融体
は均一に混じり合い、冷却により固形化して堅固な溶接
部を構成する。これにより別のシーム部域全ての両接合
域が溶融温度に達し、言い換えれば一体溶融に達する前
に、溶融体の任意のシーム域内での固形化は防がれる。
シーム部域は全てほとんど同時に溶融するか、または残
留の全てのシーム部域が依然充分に軟質であり、構成部
品は相互に移動することができ、このため軟質化材料は
破壊するか除去され得る。シームの溶融体は、同時にま
たは実質的にシームの全長および全幅に亘って固形化
し、この結果同時に歪みの発生は抑えられる。
【0006】予熱は種々の方式で行うことができ、また
は引き続き第一の中間温度から次の高めの中間温度に高
められる。このためにはビーム焦点またはビーム域を接
合域に沿って極めて迅速に移動させ、これによりビーム
域による継続二加熱間での接合域の各構成部分は、先行
加熱の初期または最終時に最低温度にまで冷却すること
はできない。例えば加熱は一回につき1,2,または3
秒、10回以上行ってよく、これにより1から12の間
の全回数が可能と思われる。このように接合域の増分的
または逐次加熱が考えられるが、一方では接合面の相互
接触が要請される。一つの接合面が軟質化するか、また
はシームの全長に亘って同時に可塑化されると、関連の
部品は別の部品に対する希望の度合いに応じて接触圧力
を使って移動させることができる。この操作により構成
部品の寸法許容差または接合面の表面形状許容差を均等
化させることができる。この移動は部品そのものに取付
けたラッチにより制限するか、または加圧/把持装置上
のラッチを使って制限し、このラッチを使うことにより
構成部品の取付具は接合部製作時点で一体保持または加
圧される。
【0007】予熱および/または溶融操作時には、エネ
ルギービーム線が一つの接合面を透過し、このビームは
その物理性状により加熱に関与しないか、または極わず
か関与するに過ぎない。このビームは直接並置された接
合面に打ち当たり、この接合面はその物理性状から放射
線を吸収し、それが溶融相に達するまで暖め直され、こ
の溶融相を使って可塑化を示すまで第一接合面は加熱さ
れる。この結果予熱操作を含めて15,10,5秒以内
でかなり長めの溶接さえ得られる。この溶接方法は、特
にプラスチック用として、または容器部品の接合に利用
される周縁連続シーム用として好適である。この方法は
同じく別目的、例えば非破壊的に分離を必要とする接合
面の補助的事前処理向けとして適合している。
【0008】この方法は既知の装置と併用して、例えば
書き込みまたはエネルギービーム用としてビーム出力を
備えた走査ヘッドとも併用が可能であり、これによれば
ビームはヘッドを固定したまま、異なる方向に対してで
も連続的に偏向させることができる。しかし、ビーム出
力はまたロボットの腕に取付けて、あらゆる三次元方向
に対してこの腕を関節で繋いで移動させ、シーム部分か
ら一定の間隔を保ち保持されたビーム出力を使ってシー
ムに沿って移動させる。本発明によれば、装置には制御
装置を取付け、この装置を使ってビーム域を接合域また
はシームの各部分に亘って多様に誘導し、特にその時間
間隔は最大限1から6または4秒に操作させている。ビ
ーム出力は鏡または集束レンズを使って形成させる。ビ
ームの操縦には二つの鏡を並置させて使い、その各鏡は
他方のものとは独立に別途軸の廻りを旋回し得るように
させている。この結果ビームは同時に相互に直交する二
組の立体軸内で移動させることができる。集束オプチッ
クまたはz−軸モジュールを使うことにより、ビーム域
には第三立体軸内で出力を供給し、一方その部域範囲は
一定に保持している。この結果、ビーム出力と接合域間
に見られる距離の変動は相殺される。

走査ヘッド2および走査すべき工作物を固定保持する装
置3を取付けた装置1を表わす。取付具3の固定基板5
は基板4に固定連結する。装置2,3のそれぞれは相互
に独立して基礎フレーム上に互換式に取り付ける。

ボット軸15または16をこの鏡の面内に据え、出力1
2の中心軸に対して角度を持たせる。鏡9はまた二組の
相互に直交する軸廻りを旋回させることができ、そのピ
ボット角は例えば20°から30°の範囲とする。図1
の(B)は鏡9の上流側に据え、独立モーター14を備
えた別途の鏡9’を示す。この鏡9’のピボット軸16
は鏡9の軸15およびレンズ11の軸と傾き角を持つ。

するジョー19の動きを検出する。ジョー18または工
作物に対してジョー19に掛かる力は、レシーバー25
を使って連続的に検知する。

作物に関するプログラムについて、電子データの記憶割
当てに対応するデータ入力用装置26を設ける。入力ま

43も面41同様相接しており、立体対向面44につい
ては一種の受け面を構成している。この結果、面42,
44の尖った移行縁部は張力下の傾斜面41に接触し、
これにより面43からは離隔している。面43から離れ
た面41の端部47と面43との間隔で溶接シームの幅
が決まり、その伸長部分は図面構成面に直角を呈してい
る。中央で対称性のビーム域35の幅または直径は、こ
のシーム幅と等しく、従ってシーム長より多様な状態で
短い形状を示している。
【0016】横断面39は何ら目立ったエネルギー吸収
を示すことなく、ビーム10には透過性を示す。即ちビ
ーム10を通過させる。これに対して横断面40はビー
ム10のエネルギーを吸収し、その度合いは面35近辺
では一層顕著であり、この結果ビーム10により暖めら
れる。この性状は顔料、カーボンブラック、タルカムパ
ウダー等の添加剤または吸収物質の配合により達せられ
る。
【0017】装置8によりビーム10は横断面39を通
じて全般的に誘導され、面42上でのビーム域35の大
きさは絶えず一定に保たれる。なお装置8によりビーム
10は同時に偏向を受け、ビーム域35はシームの全長
に沿って連続的に面域42を高速度で一方向に流れる。
この結果接合域42周縁を室温つまり第一初期温度、即
ち一中間温度から次の比較的高い中間温度まで、横断面
40の温度は連続的に高まり、一方接合域41内の横断
面39は当初加熱されないか、せいぜい多くて加熱の度
合いは一層低い。ビーム域35が図3に示すようにシー
ム部分に逐次当たる二つのパス間では、接合域42は名
ばかりだけの冷却を示すか、または全く冷却を示さな
い。
【0018】5以上または10パスのもとでは、接合域
42の温度は溶融温度にまで高まっており、溶融体つま
りフラックス層は面41に接触する所までシーム幅全体
に広がっている。これにより接合域42の熱は面41を
介して横断面39に向かう結果となる。このように接合
域41は同じくシームの全長に亘って同時に溶融温度に
達し、面41にはフラックス層が一層補給される。これ
に先立ち、または同時に締結力45,46により部材3
7,38は相互に移動し、非可塑化面43,44は相互
に回転位置を占める。ここで制御装置30によりアクチ
ュエータ20を調節して、位置決め移動を防ぐ。溶接溶
融体は域41,42間の間隙から“滲み出る”ことはな
い。これに代わり、溶融体をこの間隙に注入して端部4
7にシームビードが形成されないようにする。当初では
面43,44間の間隙長は面41,42間の平均間隙幅
に見合っている。この間隙幅は1mm以下または0.5
mm以下である。リム39で容器シエル40の外周を取
り巻き、容器の外側から透過ビーム溶接が行えるように
する。間隙が充填し終わると、溶融体は冷えシームは堅
固となり完全なシールが行われる。この後工作物36を
緩め装置17から取り外す。
【0019】図2から明らかなように、面42は方向4
5,46に平行方向を示し、面41はこれに対して角度
を持ち合わす。
【0020】図3は面41がいかに逆向きに締結方向4
5,46に平行となり、面42がこれに対して2°また
は3°以下の角度をなすかを表わしている。面43は壁
面39の環状端面を示し、図2に示すような嵌め込み面
を示していない。面44は面42の自由端に対して引っ
込め据付けした肩面を表わし、従って面43,44間の
間隙は工作物の外側に露呈されている。面43,44間
からの溶融体のはみ出しは同じく見受けられない。それ
は溶融体がこの間隙に入り込まないためである。
【0021】図4は環状ウェブとしての横断面40を示
す。この部材38は層厚組込み壁外に横断面方向に自由
に突出したものであり、従ってそれぞれのフランクはこ
の壁の肩面に隣接している。この肩面が面43,44を
形成している。両ウェブフランクは部材37の接合面4
1で溶接されるはずの接合面42と見ることができる。
この接合面41は横断面39中の溝フランクにより形成
されている。この溝フランクは鋭角をなして溝底に集中
している。この溝底およびウェブ40の縦縁も接触面を
構成している。横断面40の厚みは充分薄いため、溶融
体が溝を完全に満たし、両ウェブフランクを二つの溝フ
ランクに溶接するまで、溶融体中に完全に移し替えるこ
とができる。
【0022】図5は容器壁としての横断面40を示し、
その外面は接合面42を表わしている。横断面39はウ
ェブまたはスリーブを示したものであり、その長さ方向
のつまり端面は接合面41を表わしている。ウェブ39
はニップル37の自由に突起したリムを示し、その溝ダ
クトは容器壁の開口部に連結すべきため、シームはこの
開口を密封取り巻く形を示す。ここではビーム30をリ
ム39を介してその軸に平行に、つまり同様にリム39
に隣接するニップル37の端壁を介して振り向ける。こ
の端壁は面42から離隔している。部材37,38を面
41,42に直角方向または横断方向に方向45,46
に相互に緊締する。同時に可塑化を行い、部材37,3
8を方向45,46に相互に近付け、最終的に制御装置
30,24を使ってこの移動状態をコントロールする。
【0023】図6は二つの部材つまりチューブ38が、
いかに相互に縦方向または同軸方向に位置付けされ、部
材37と接合するかを示している。チューブ38は可塑
化に先立ち反対方向からスリーブ37中に差し込み、そ
の端部44を使って相互に離れた面43と接触させる。
面43は部材37の内周から突起するカラーを使って形
成させる。接合面41,42は面44から離しておく。
チューブ38は溶接時には、相互に面41,42にそれ
ぞれ平行には前進移動させない。その代わりとして、溶
融体は接合域42から接合域41に向け、張力なしに流
すことができる。しかし面41,42は相互に、例えば
横断面40に対して半径方向に横断面39に応力を加え
て、横方向に移動させることができる。
【0024】単一ビーム10の代わりに数本のビーム1
0を同時に用いて、そのビーム域35をシームの全長に
亘って分布させることができる。このビーム域を空間に
満たし、同一または異なる速度でシームに沿い走査させ
る。これにより溶接エネルギーはなおさら迅速に横断面
39,40に供給でき、域35で加熱された面42の各
部分は次のパスで再加熱されるまで、冷却はむしろ少な
く押さえられる。
【0025】以上に掲げた特徴と効果はまさに記載の通
りと見ることができ、単に実質的にも近似的にもその通
りであるが、特殊の要請によっては上記から大きく変動
し得ることも了解されるであろう。

Claims (13)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 第一接合面(41)および第二接合面
    (42)を含む複数の接合面間に接合部域を形成し、こ
    の第一および第二接合面が、第一および第二横断面(3
    9,40)の境界を構成し、かつ初期温度を保持し、接
    合部域には部域構成部分を設ける、接合部を溶接する方
    法において、 第一横断面(39)を経て、第二接合面(42)を備え
    る第二横断面(40)を、ビーム(10)の放射エネル
    ギーを使って作業温度まで加熱して可塑化させる工程
    と、 第二横断面(40)からの熱を第一横断面(39)に伝
    達し、これにより可塑化を促し、さらに第一接合面(4
    1)を備える第一横断面(39)を、実質的に該作業温
    度まで加熱する工程と、 それによりこの接合部域中より狭小なビーム域(35)
    中で、この接合部域を該ビーム(10)を使って打ち当
    て、送り移動により接合部域に対し該ビーム域(35)
    を移動させて、引き続き次々と部域構成部分を加熱する
    工程を含み、 接合部域を前記初期温度に対するより、前記作業温度の
    方に近い中間温度に予熱し、この後、部域構成部分を実
    質的に送り移動の単一連続経路中で、前記中間温度から
    前記作業温度に実質的に持ち来す、方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 接合域を前記ビーム(10)を使って予
    熱し、前記ビーム域(35)を部域構成部分のそれぞれ
    に亘って多様に移動させ、一方これにより部域構成部分
    の前記中間温度を増分的に高め、前記ビーム域(35)
    を連続して周縁に沿って誘導して反復操作で接合部域の
    長さ方向に移動させ、これにより実質的に同時に全体の
    接合部域を前記初期温度から、少なくとも前記中間温度
    および前記作業温度の一つまで加熱する、請求項1に記
    載の方法。
  3. 【請求項3】 請求項1又は2に記載の方法であって、
    さらに、第一及び第二最低温度を含む最低温度を形成
    し、前記初期温度が第一および第二初期温度を含み、前
    記中間温度が第一および第二中間温度を含み、第二接合
    面(42)を前記送り移動を使って、通常部域構成部分
    に沿って前記第一初期温度から前記第一中間温度まで、
    最初の加熱を用いて逐次高めていき、その後第二接合面
    (42)を前記第一初期温度より高めの前記第一最低温
    度まで冷却し、この後第二接合面(42)を通常前記送
    り移動を使って前記第一最低温度から第二の加熱を利用
    して、前記第二の中間温度まで加熱し、この操作により
    前記第一最低温度で前記第二初期温度を形成させ、前記
    第一最低温度を前記第一初期温度に見合う第一中間温度
    に近付けるようにする、方法。
  4. 【請求項4】 請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の
    方法であって、さらに前記第一および第二の加熱に引き
    続く複数の補充加熱を行ない、補充加熱が充分高いこと
    から第二接合面(42)付近の第二横断面(40)を可
    塑化することができ、その結果第一接合面(41)に接
    触する第二フラックス層が得られ、前記第二フラックス
    層は第一接合面(41)を介して、第一横断面(39)
    が第一接合面(41)を可塑化させるまで第一横断面
    (39)を加熱して、前記第二フラックス層に溶接結合
    させる第一フラックス層を提供し、第一および第二横断
    面(39,40)を第一および第二接合面(41,4
    2)が前記作業温度に達するに先立ち、遅くとも相互に
    直接の加圧が加わるようにした、方法。
  5. 【請求項5】 第一および第二横断面(39,40)を
    一方で接合部域を予熱する間、既に相互に加圧を終わ
    り、第一および第二横断面(39,40)を、第一およ
    び第二接合面(41,42)が相互溶接されるまで、中
    断することなく相互に加圧する、請求項1から4のいず
    れかに記載の方法。
  6. 【請求項6】 加熱操作の間、第一接合面(41)を第
    二接合面(42)に対して鋭角の状態に保持し、同じく
    加熱操作の間第一および第二横断面(39,40)を、
    前記送り移動の横方向に、かつ実質的に少なくとも第一
    および第二接合面(41,42)の一つに対し平行に相
    互に加圧して、第二横断面(40)を第一横断面(3
    9)に対して移動させ、前記作業温度に達した時点で第
    一横断面(39)に隣接させ、この後接合部を冷却、固
    形化させる、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の方法。
  7. 【請求項7】 部域構成部分のそれぞれを前記ビーム域
    (35)について、少なくとも秒当り1および10回走
    査させる、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の方法。
  8. 【請求項8】 前記ビーム(10)を鏡(9)上で反射
    させ前記送り移動を行い、前記鏡(9)を特に通常てこ
    アームと前記ビーム(10)を使って、前記鏡(9)を
    移動させるモーター装置を備えたロボットを利用して自
    動的に移動させる、請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の
    方法。
  9. 【請求項9】 第一接合面(41)および第二接合面
    (42)を備える接合面間で接合部域を形成し、第一お
    よび第二接合面(41,42)が第一および第二横断面
    (39,40)の構成面を示し、接合部域が部域構成部
    分を構成する装置(1)において、 ビーム(10)の誘導装置を備え、前記誘導装置には第
    一横断面(39)を介して第二接合面(42)上に振り
    向けるビーム出力(12)を備えて、ビーム(10)の
    ビーム域(35)を第二接合面(42)上に投射し、 第二接合面(42)に沿ってビーム域(35)を送り届
    ける装置(13,14)を備え、かつ前記送り装置(1
    3,14)を制御し、前記制御装置(30)が継続して
    多様にビーム域(35)を部域構成部分のそれぞれに誘
    導し、一方ビーム(10)が第一横断面(39)を透過
    するような制御装置(30)を備える、接合部の溶接装
    置。
  10. 【請求項10】 前記制御装置が最大2から3秒の時間
    間隔で繰り返し部域構成部分のそれぞれに亘ってビーム
    域(35)を誘導し、モーター装置を取り付けてビーム
    域(35)を位置に応じて駆動させ、前記ビーム出力を
    少なくとも、鏡および集束対物レンズのいずれかとす
    る、請求項9に記載の装置。
  11. 【請求項11】 第一鏡(9’)と前記第一鏡(9’)
    の下流側に取付けた第二鏡(9)とを前記ビーム誘導装
    置が備え、少なくとも前記第一および第二鏡(9’,
    9)の一つが独立に、少なくともこの一つの鏡に平行に
    向く誘導軸(15,16)の廻りを回転し得る、請求項
    9または10に記載の装置。
  12. 【請求項12】 請求項9から11のいずれか1項に記
    載の装置であって、さらに第一および第二の横断面(3
    9,40)を備える構成部品(37,38)を形成し、
    保持装置(3)を取付け、この保持装置(3)に構成部
    品(37,38)の保持用の把持取付具(17)を設
    け、前記把持取付具(17)には張力ジョー(21,2
    2)および両側板(18,19)を取付け、この両側板
    (18,19)の少なくとも一つを構成部品(37,3
    8)に対して移動し得るようにし、また少なくとも前記
    両側板(18,19)の一つが、少なくとも張力ジョー
    (21,22)の一つを互換的に保持する、装置。
  13. 【請求項13】 請求項12に記載の装置であって、さ
    らに前記把持取付具(17)の把持特性を規定し、把持
    特性として構成部品(37,38)の少なくとも一つを
    掴む目的の点検路および点検型を備え、前記制御装置
    (30)を使って少なくとも把持特性の一つを制御し、
    前記把持取付具(17)には把持特性の少なくとも一つ
    を検出するための少なくとも一つのレシーバー(24,
    25)を備え、信号導線(29)を使って少なくとも一
    つのレシーバーと前記制御装置(30)とを連結し、前
    記制御装置(30)を制御導線を介して前記把持取付具
    (17)のアクチュエータ(20)に連結する、装置。
