The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition which can? be applied as a cream with a gentle massage on the skin, and has a conservation and maintenance effect on the skin thanks to the combined action of two active ingredients, collagen and elastin.

The combination of collagen and elastin? been applied in creams and other cosmetic preparations, also widely advertised. However, this combination is normally used in very low concentrations, and what? as in cosmetic creams you usually try to get an expiration date the most? as far away as possible in time. Indeed, if that date? more than thirty months, it, by law, can you? omit. For this purpose, collagen and elastin are combined with an excessively high number of other components, such as excipients, additives, preservatives or more, so as to reduce their beneficial action, with an increased risk of allergic reactions.

Precisely to avoid these inconveniences, in a book by the same inventor (Marco Nicoletti, Parasitology for the dermatologist, Rome, 1997, Publisher C. Allendorf)? disclosed a formula with high concentration of collagen and elastin, which presents for? the defect of requiring refrigerated storage and, nevertheless, of having an extremely short shelf life. The original formula (mentioned on pages 132? 133 of the quoted book)? the following:

1), 20% collagen;

2), 20% elastin;

3), 60% dermobase or Essex Base Cream.

A cream with such a formula turned out to be? immediately, and it? still, an excellent anti-aging product and a cosmetic much appreciated by patients and very well tolerated, especially for the very low number and the goodness? of the ingredients.

In fact, collagen contributes to integrity? and the efficiency of the cellular structures contained in the dermis and hypodermis. In these two layers of human skin there are collagen fibers and elastic fibers. Marine collagen, extracted from algae of the Fucus vesciculosus type,? preferable to the bovine one for the best capacity? of cutaneous absorption and for the absence of contraindications, and confers a pi? firm integrity? to all the collagen fibers inherent both in the thickness of the dermis and in the hypodermis pi? contiguous to the dermis. The result consists, on the one hand, in a skin that breathes better, and therefore more? beautiful, and on the other hand, in a continuous renewal of collagen fibers with an anti-aging effect.

Elastin is used by many tissues of the body to return to their original shape after being subjected to stress and tension. In fact, elastin constitutes an essential element both in the connective tissue and in the skin. Also for elastin,? the marine one is preferable.

The high percentage of marine collagen and marine elastin? therefore a sure guarantee of a moisturizing and velvety effect, as well as tensor and smoothing of the skin.

The anti-aging effect derives from the preservation of the skin in the conditions in which it is found. On the contrary, hydration and its efficiency improve, and the signs of age are countered.

However, due to the necessity? to keep the known cream in the refrigerator, the product proves to be somewhat inconvenient for the effects of transport and maintenance, especially for those who in the summer want to take some packaging to the place of holidays, for example to the sea and therefore in the heat, sometimes in places lacking electricity or good refrigerators.

To overcome the problems of preservation of its composition, the inventor has decided to combine the aforementioned binomial collagen, elastin with a minimum percentage, as far as possible, of natural substances which, mixed together, allow to ensure, together with a packaging underneath, vacuum, a duration of the cosmetic composition in cream or other form, in the absence of refrigeration, of a few months, combining an antimicrobial effect with an increased preservative efficacy.

In particular, an object of the invention? that of allowing a cosmetic composition with a high concentration of collagen and elastin to be conveniently stored without refrigeration.

Another purpose of the invention? to include in the formulation of a composition of collagen and elastin, preservatives and natural antimicrobials capable of adding properties? advantageous to the qualities? cosmetics of the composition.

Therefore, the invention provides a cosmetic composition having a high concentration of collagen and elastin with respect to a main component thereof as an excipient base cream, further comprising Tea Tree Oil (TTO) or tea tree essential oil. (Melaleuca Alternifolia) as an antimicrobial and Propolis T.M. as a preservative.

In particular, ? Tea Tre Oil was chosen as an antimicrobial, due to its centuries-old recognized effectiveness. The Tea Tree, or Melaleuca Alternifolia, owes its name (tea tree?) To the arrival in Australia of James Cook, who learned? the preparation of a refreshing herbal tea made from the leaves of this tree, imitating the indigenous Australians. Cook discovered? in fact this Australian blueberry after its sailors had reported the uses that the aborigines made of its leaves, both as herbal teas and as poultices to put on inflammations or infected wounds.

Since then, serious scientific studies and countless galenic experiments have led to the current essential oil of tea tree, known as a powerful germicide, antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic and antifungal, as well as? strong deodorant and preservative. The tea tree contains as many as 48 active ingredients and organic compounds, and this richness has made it necessary to elaborate very precise percentages, without which we cannot speak of Tea Tree Oil.

The Australian Government has in fact established by law that, in order to boast the name of "Tea Tree Oil", tea tree oil must contain over 30% Terpinene and less than 15% Cineol. The latter, in fact, at higher percentages, could have irritating effects.

The essential oil of tea tree? been tested in numerous forms of dermatitis, mycosis and erythema, and even on psoriasis, herpes and aphthous stomatitis. It is used in the form of 15% lotion, and also in 15.20 drops in half a glass of water for rinsing, and even (always in 15% lotion) for local anti-rheumatic massages. And finally, it is also used in the form of 5% creams in the treatment of sunburn or diaper rashes, or even to counteract the bad smell of hands and feet in cases of excessive sweating. While 20% creams, used under medical supervision, are used against acne by eliminating the bacteria that cause boils and pimples at the base.

However, the susceptibility? tea tree essential oil to potentially cause skin irritation and allergic reactions (so much so that caution is advised in case of pregnancy and breastfeeding) advises to prudently reduce its presence in the composition to the percentage of 1.5 by weight according to the invention.

The addition of propolis in mother tincture, Propolis T.M., in a preferred form, in the percentage of 1.5 by weight, serves as an additional preservative, but also as a perfuming substance. How ? known, the thousands of cells for the nasciture bees, which make up the honeycombs of the hives, are reinforced and sanitized by means of propolis. The propolis? in fact, a sanitizing plant resin, which the plants first secrete on vegetable skin or wounds, and which the bees process and enrich. The highly variable composition of propolis generally includes 55% resins and balsams, 25.35% wax, 10% essential and volatile oils, 5% pollen and 5% various organic and mineral components. Among the many dozen constituents of propolis, there are also benzoic acid, cinnamic acid, caffeic acid, and even vanillin to which? due to the faint vanilla scent of propolis. There are also flavonoids, and several minerals, including iron, copper, chromium, manganese, titanium and zinc. Propolis are now commonly attributed properties? antibiotics and anesthetics. Numerous experiments have demonstrated the activity? bacteriostatic and bactericidal of propolis as well as? its properties? antifungal. It is also commonly used for the preservation of food products, replacing chemical additives.

For these reasons, as well as for the delicate hint of vanilla, yes? a percentage of propolis is added to the cosmetic composition according to the invention. According to the present invention, two preferred formulation variants are provided, a type A formula and a type B formula.

the n-type formula in the cosmetic composition, preferably in the form of a cream consists of the following ingredients by weight:

1), 20% hydrolyzed marine collagen;

2), 20% hydrolyzed marine elastin;

3), Essex base cream 57%;

4), Propolis T. M. 1.5%;

5), Tea Tree Oil 1.5%.

As for the preparation, it? made simple precisely because of the reduced number of ingredients and the absence of unnecessary additives and preservatives, so it is sufficient to mix the components with mixers, preferably at the pi? low speed? allowed, and for a few minutes. The preparation in a refrigerated environment, at a temperature between 5 and 7 degrees centigrade, helps the preparation, within the limits of the delicacy of the collagen molecule.

Once the preparation is complete, the container that contains it must be vacuum-sealed with machinery that can be similar to those used for the same purpose for food products. The final preparation must not be frozen to avoid damage to the collagen molecule.

For the purposes of conservation and transportability, the formulation in question is distinguished for a duration of at least six months, and what? allows you to easily bring this preparation in a still sealed package even in the hot and remote places of your holidays, with the simple foresight to keep the preparation in the fridge once the container is opened or, in the absence of a refrigerator, to consume it immediately. There? yes ? obtained according to the invention with the addition of Tea Tree Oil as antimicrobial and Propolis T. M. as a preservative, together with the vacuum pack.

Thanks to the removal of the air in the vacuum preparation, you get a drastic slowdown of all activities? biological and enzymatic, making possible a considerable extension of the duration of the cosmetic product, which in this case? a cream. In addition, the impermeability? of the wrapping does not allow the loss or the acquisition of humidity, factors that often cause the deterioration of most cosmetic products made exclusively, as in this case, with a few genuine products without massive doses of preservatives.

The inventor was able to ascertain, both for propolis and for Tea Tree Oil, that the rare sensitization phenomena (meaning with this term the possible induction of allergic phenomena) concerned products and applications that made use of these substances (alone , or combined together in a binomial) in much higher percentages than the percentages used in this preparation. Furthermore, the above cases were linked not only to excessive doses of the two ingredients, but also to an improper use that was made of them, by people who used the products in question at too high doses or too frequently.

It is therefore believed that, in dosages so? minimal, the possibility is very remote? of sensitization phenomena such as those indicated above, also why? for example, no negative interactions with the other substances used in the cosmetic in question have been reported for propolis.

Of this remote possibility? takes into account the type B formula according to the present invention with the addition of colloidal oat extract. The latter confers a protection against possible and unlikely eczematous dermatitis which very rarely could occur after the application of the type A formula of the composition, due to the sensitizing effect hypothetically un-generated by some components of the Tea Tree Oil and Propolis complex.

However, these eczematous dermatitis are extremely unlikely even in the type A formula of the composition in question. It should be borne in mind that the natural components, of mainly vegetable origin, very rarely cause eczema in the skin, given the affinity? between our organism and the plant components, one and the other built on unit? carbon.

Since? the very few other non-vegetable components are however of natural origin, and in such a small number, it seems very unlikely that they can cause sensitization phenomena.

However, of the cosmetic composition in question consists of the following ingredients by weight:

1), 20% hydrolyzed marine collagen;

2), 20% hydrolyzed marine elastin;

3), Essex base cream 55%;

4), colloidal extract of oats 2%;

5), Propolis T. M. 1.5%;

6), Tea Tree Oil 1.5%.

Compared to the type A formula, the addition of even a low percentage of colloidal oat extract, containing glucans, to the type B formula, reduces the probability. d? onset of sensitization (even at 48 and 72 hours).

According to the inventor, the?, Glucans contained in? colloidal extract of oats exert their antieczematous action when necessary, which consists in the reduction of free radicals in case of unwanted skin reactions. Said free radical inhibition? due to the inhibition of the enzyme xanthine, oxidase. This enzyme in fact causes the oxidation of xanthine, degrading it to uric acid. This chemical transformation, if not adequately blocked, releases, in parallel with uric acid, also hydrogen peroxide and various types of free radicals, meaning as such the harmful metabolites deriving from oxygen.

Yup ? nevertheless thought that, in the hypothesis of a commercialization, nothing would prevent to provide the customer with two tiny samples of cream, one of type A, and one of type B, for subjects who very easily encounter allergic phenomena: the so-called? subjects? hypersensitive ?. And indeed a correct policy could be to sell the cosmetic considered here only to subjects who have tried both samples and have chosen the cream sample that has not caused them any allergic reaction, cautiously trying a first application on the back of one of the hands. , and waiting 72 hours. Beyond this time limit? very difficult, and extremely unlikely, that delayed sensitization phenomena will occur. Presumably, the sample chosen by hypersensitive subjects will be? the sample containing the cream of type B formula, which differs from the above type A formula by the addition of 2% colloidal oat extract.

In summary, the cosmetic cream according to the invention is characterized by the combination of:

- the high concentration of collagen and elastin,

- the presence of Tea Tree Oil to protect the combination of collagen, elastin, as an antimicrobial, and

- the use of propolis as a preservative of the binomial collagen, elastin, - the possible addition of colloidal oat extract, and finally

- the vacuum packaging that allows the collagen - elastin binomial to last and have a safe expiration date of six months.

Once the expiration date has come, or after opening the package,? mandatory to put the cosmetic cream in the refrigerator.

This cream can? last even a year, increasing the concentrations of Tea Tree Oil and Propolis respectively to 5%, both one and the other. The set of the characteristics listed above allows you to have a valid cosmetic with the use of few ingredients, considering that there? mathematically limits the possibility? of potential allergic reactions during the use of the cosmetic itself.

The wording? totally safe as it has passed a satisfactory experimental period. Its cosmetic cream? it was tested on a few dozen relatives and friends of the inventor, and later on hundreds of volunteer patients who continued to request it, judging it both an excellent beauty cream and a cosmetic capable of erasing the signs of daily stress, both in ladies than in the gentlemen. Everyone considered it a good product to counteract the signs of aging and keep the skin young.

Cosmetic composition having a high concentration of collagen and elastin with respect to its main component of base cream acting as an excipient, characterized in that it also includes Tea Tree Oil (TTO) or essential tea tree oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia) as an antimicrobial, and Propolis T.M. as a preservative. 2. Cosmetic composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the percentage of TTO and Propolis T.M. ? respectively between 1 and 5% by weight. 3. Cosmetic composition according to claim 2, characterized in that the percentage of TTO and Propolis T.M. ? respectively of 1.5% by weight. 4. Cosmetic composition according to claim 1, characterized in that it further comprises colloidal oat extract as an anti-allergic component. 5. Cosmetic composition according to claim 4, characterized in that the colloidal extract of oats? present in a percentage between 1 and 5% by weight. 6.
