Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the contour means are protection elements (15, 16, 61) having at least one rectilinear portion (17) provided with a recess (20) along one of its inner sides (21 ) facing the shelf adapted to receive at least a portion of a corresponding edge (3, 4, 5, 6) of the shelf (1).

3. Device according to claim 2, characterized by the fact that at least part of the protection elements (15, 16) has coupling means (24) with corresponding countermeans (23) provided associated with the shelf (1), such cooperation binding said elements (15, 16) to the latter.

Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the coupling means are projections (24) provided within the recess (20) along the inner side of said rectilinear portion (7) of the protection elements (15, 16) and that said counter means are recesses (23) provided within at least one surface (25, 26) of the shelf (1).

Device as per claim 2, characterized in that at least part of the protection elements (15, 16) includes portions (18, 19) connected by the rectilinear portion (17) and arranged with axes (Y, Z) orthogonal to that (X) of the latter, called orthogonal portions (18, 19) providing hollows (20) along one of their sides (21) facing the shelf (1) able to accommodate at least part of the corresponding edge (3, 4) of this 'last.

Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the orthogonal portions (18, 19) of at least one of the protection elements (15, 16) are provided with protruding fins (53) adapted to cooperate with usual guides (12) provided walls (10, 11) of a compartment (7) of the cooler where the shelf (1) is arranged, said guides (12) slidingly cooperating with projections (49) starting from the sides (48) of the other protection element ( 16), said sides delimiting a prominent part (46) of the latter element capable of positioning itself in the vicinity of the of a bottom wall (47) of this compartment (7).
