Description
Air intake system integrated into the nautical toilet.
The object of the present invention is a toilet, in particular a toilet for nautical use, which comprises devices for the introduction of air suitable for preventing the emptying of the toilet basin, any leaks of water on the floor and the diffusion of bad smells.
The nautical toilet is designed in such a way as to contain a certain amount of water necessary for the proper functioning of the toilet itself, as well as to prevent the spread through the toilet of bad smells coming from the drainage pipes.
In certain circumstances of use of the system, a depression can be created inside the drainage system pipes, which can cause the toilet basin to empty, resulting in the ineffectiveness of the hydraulic cap and consequent spread of bad smells.
To avoid this problem, devices for the introduction of air have been used for some time, placed on the exhaust duct of the nautical toilet with a free air intake, that is, not reconnected to the toilet-
These devices are usually equipped with a valve, which allows the introduction of air towards the pipe, but does not prevent the escape of water and the diffusion of bad smells, also due to the non-return valve which is normally in the open position and unable. therefore to intercept the bad smells coming from the drain pipes and from the sewage tank.
The devices in use are therefore not exempt from problems due to a possible loss of water coming from the toilet drain pump, and bad smells coming from the drain piping, as a consequence of a non-perfect functioning of the same. Furthermore, if the ventilation valve is not sealed, water may leak from the pump which, if it falls on the floor, would cause bad smells.
To try to remedy these drawbacks, it is necessary to connect the ventilation valve to a ventilated collection tank by means of a pipe, or to the outside of the boat, at a higher altitude than the toilet itself, with obvious technical and aesthetic problems.
The subject of the present invention is a toilet equipped with an air inlet device suitable for preventing the emptying of the toilet and at the same time also the possibility of water leaks on the floor or the spread of bad odors in the environment.
According to the present invention, a ventilation branch is provided in the drainage sleeve inside the toilet itself, connected to the same sanitary fixture at a height suitable to prevent its emptying, i.e. above the maximum level that can be reached by the water inside the toilet. during normal operation.
The connection of the aforementioned branch to the toilet itself prevents any occasional leaks of dirty water coming from the pump from falling on the floor.
Downstream of said ventilation branch there is a non-return valve, made in such a way as to be normally and automatically in the closed position, so as to prevent the passage of bad smells through the ventilation branch. This non-return valve, in addition to having the function of preventing the passage of bad smells, is also necessary to prevent, in certain types of drainage systems, the return of dirty water inside the toilet.
When the depression is generated, through the derivation made in the drainage duct of the toilet, air from the outside is drawn into the pipe itself, thus preventing the depression from emptying the water present in the toilet.
The invention will be referred to hereinafter with reference to embodiments given only as an explanatory but not limitative example and illustrated in the attached figures in which:
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal sectional view of a marine toilet in which the device consists of an automatically closed non-return valve and a ventilation branch connected directly to the toilet basin.
Fig. 2 shows a rear view of a marine toilet in which the ventilation branch is connected to the connection sleeve between the toilet basin and the pump.
With reference to said figures, figure 1 shows a marine toilet (4) in which the discharge sleeve (1), connected to the pump (3), is equipped with a ventilation branch (2) connected for the introduction of air. (7) to the basin of the toilet (4) itself, at an altitude higher than the maximum level (8) reachable by the water inside the basin in normal operation. Along the discharge sleeve (1), downstream of the ventilation branch (2) there is also the non-return valve in the automatically closed position (5). The toilet drain is then connected, downstream of the non-return valve (5) in the automatically closed position, to the drain pipe (9).
Figure 2 shows a nautical toilet (4) in which the ventilation branch (2) is placed between the discharge sleeve (1) and the connection sleeve (6) between the toilet and the pump (3), in which a special fitting is made for the introduction of air (7) at a height higher than the maximum level reachable by the water (8) inside the basin in normal operation. Along the discharge sleeve (1) there is a non-return valve in the automatically closed position (5) downstream of the ventilation branch (2). The toilet drain is then connected, downstream of the non-return valve in the automatically closed position (5), to the drain pipe (9). The aforementioned figure also indicates the water level (8) inside the toilet and its mechanism by means of a background, maintained by the presence of the ventilation branch (2) even in the event of depression inside the pipes (9) of the 'exhaust system. Finally, the figure suggests the usefulness of the non-return valve in the automatically closed position (5) to prevent bad smells coming from the drain pipe (9) and represented in turn by means of a pattern, from spreading into the environment through the derivation. ventilation (2).
