Abstract

Un vetro elettrocromico di dimensioni tali da essere vantaggiosamente utilizzato nel campo delle applicazioni per auto o per edilizia è realizzato utilizzando due lastre di vetro 1 e 9 come pareti esterne, due strati conduttori 2 e 8 trasparenti, due elettrodi 3 e 7 come elementi attivi del sistema e un polimero elettrolita 6.L'elettrodo attivo 3 è formato di ossido di tungsteno, mentre l'elettrodo attivo 7 è formato di ossido di vanadio o di una opportuna miscela di ossido di vanadio ed ossido di molibdeno.Il polimero elettrolita 6 viene ottenuto dissolvendo litio perclorato in una soluzione opportuna di propilene carbonato e polimetilmetacrilato.Un opportuno elettrodo di riferimento 10 mantiene sotto controllo il sistema.Il complesso così realizzato è in grado di diventare rapidamente ed uniformemente opaco o trasparente sotto l'azione di un campo elettrico.
