Abstract
Una fune metallica viene provata simultaneamente per tipi multipli di difetti mediante saturazione magnetica della fune in due posizioni (b, f) in un senso ed in una posizione intermedia (d) in senso opposto. Una bobina di esplorazione (32; fig. 6) in qualsiasi di queste posizioni rivela variazioni di area in sezione trasversale nella fune. Due bobine di esplorazione (38, 40; figura 14) posizionate rispettivamente tra ciascuna coppia di posizioni adiacenti rivelano variazioni di modello di contatto nella fune. Fili metallici rotti vengono rivelati da due bobine (54, 56; fig. 18) collocate rispettivamente su lati opposti della posizione intermedia e distanziate di un intervallo che è eguale al raggio delle bobine.
