E' descritto un metodo per la rivelazione del TNF biologicamente attivo oligomerico, che utilizza reagenti capaci di reagire solo con TNF in forma oligomerica ma non con TNF complessato al recettore, ne con TNF in forma monomerica. E' anche descritto un kit per la realizzazione.
