Abstract

The patent relates to a "method for drying out cereals, fodder, grass, beet and particularly round bales of hay or the like by means of pressure reduction", and exploits the physical principle whereby water is made to boil by greatly reducing the pressure inside a hermetically sealed container containing the products to be dried. The wet cereals, fodder, grass, beet or round bales of hay, which are contained inside a hermetically sealed tank, from which all the air can be sucked out by means of a vacuum pump until the maximum vacuum possible is reached, can be dried out on account of the fact that all the water they contain reaches boiling point and is converted into water vapour which is easily removed from the tank.
