Abstract
Referring to the concentration of solvent in the air the purification system works in the following cycle: the air polluted with solvents is sucked into a centrifugal compressor (1) and sent, compressed, at high speed into a spiral cavity (2), drawn along by a porous block (3) immersed in water at the same time, kept cold by a refrigerator unit (4). The solvent, which is heavier than air, is under centrifugal force and laps the extreme inner walls of the hollow helicoid. A certain amount of solvent vapour, by osmotic-mechanical means, moves through the wall of the condensing, porous vessel in the cold water on the outside and is deposited on the bottom due to the notable differences in mass of the two liquid elements.
