Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the soot removing machine and increase capacity for removing soot by a method wherein foams of a surface active agent are supplied to a passage of polluted air to collect pollution substances and, thereafter, a defoaming agent is supplied to defoam said foams.
CONSTITUTION: Air containing the soot is sucked from a suction port 1 and mixed with foams formed by foaming the surface active agent in a surface active agent tank 2 by a foaming machine. In this case, the soot in air is captured in the foams by the action of the surface active agent in the foams. Subsequently, foams and air are supplied with the defoaming agent from a defoaming machine 4 and the foams are returned to a liquid. The surface active agent containing the soot returned to a liquid from foams is introduced in a surface active agent tank 5 and purified air from which the soot is removed is exhausted through a suction fan 6.
