Abstract

The shelves are made from modular units and consists of uprights (5), cross bars (6) and longitudinal bars (7) to support the shelves. These are made of thin steel sheet and are cut out and pressed into shape so that they can be joined together without the use of any other parts. The longitudinal bars are made from a single sheet of steel folded and pressed. They each have a pair of projections (20) at each end at the back which fit into cut-outs in the uprights, (9). The cross bars have cut-outs (19) which fit on to projections (11) on the uprights.
