1489596 Metal frameworks M LAVOILLOTTE 2 Oct 1974 [3 Oct 1973] 42799/74 Heading A4H [Also in Divisions E1-2] A composite metal structure, e.g. for single or double fronted shelving, comprises at least three U-sectional uprights 1', 1', 1", Fig. 1, each arm of the U having two vertical rows of identical aper tures 2, 3, 2', 3', 2", 3", at least two support members 4, 4' connecting respective pairs of uprights, and fastening means engaging in apertures of the rows and co-operating with or provided on the support members, the inner ends of members 4, 4' defining a space 7 for receiving a cross-member. In Fig. 1 each row comprises one vertical column of slots, and in Fig. 2 each row comprises two vertical columns of circular apertures 9, 10 or 10A, 9A. The support members 4 4' may be of angle section and be apertured in one limb, e.g. at 5, 6 5', 6', for the reception of screws, or may include lugs for insertion in the apertures 3, 2' 3', 2". They may also have apertures in their other limbs for supporting shelves.
