Abstract

A device for sealing a tubeless tyre against a wheel rim during inflation of the tyre, comprises a cylindrical ring lying close to the sidewall of the tyre. The ring is lined with flexible material which is elastically pressed against the edge of the rim. The ring has a gap in its circumference and the opposite ends of the gap may be clamped together. The lining is a complete ring (i.e. has no corresp. gap) and is loosely fitted inside the ring. The claim device is rel. inexpensive to produce and easy to apply. In ensures a reliable seal between tyre and wheel rim even when the former is subjected to strongly deforming stresses.
