Abstract

Mesh (knitted) goods particularly articles of underwear with two limbs without seam on circular knitting machines are manufactured by (a) producing a first tubular limb of the product particularly the article of underclothing using a continuous rotary motion in the same direction, with complete courses of stitches and then producing a first tubular section with interrupted courses, provided with an elastic edge in the region of the separate parts and lying in the extension of the first limb, (b) producing a second tubular section with interrupted courses, provided with an elastic edge in the region of the separate part, located opposite to the first section and connected thereto, the end parts of the first and second sections and of the corresponding elastic edges being connected together and (c) producing finally a second tubular limb with complete courses which forms an extension of the second tubular section. The product e.g. panty-hose can be produced directly with two limbs on the knitting machine without subsequent finishing operations.
