Abstract
The parent patent describes a spatter dyeing process comprising forcing dye fluid from spray nozzles to form streams of dye droplets which pass between electrodes such that the droplets are electrically charged, and the droplets then fall through an electrostatic field whereby they are deviated to control deposition of the droplets on a fabric passing beneath the nozzles. The nozzles are formed by capillary tubes which are mounted on a supply chamber to which dye fluid is fed. In the improvement each nozzle is formed by a disc (pref. of a precious stone, e.g. synthetic sapphire) having an aperture and which is independently mounted on the supply chamber whereby its position can be adjusted. The disc may be rigidly secured to an apertured plate which is bolted to the supply chamber or may be clamped between the plate and the supply chamber. The adjustment of the discs allow uniform, accurately spaced streams of dye droplets to be achieved.
