Abstract

Soil cultivating machine in which the tractor drawn machine is powered from the 3 point P.T.O. A transverse mounted sheet-metal box, houses a number of vertical spindles supporting the soil cutting tools whose spindle axis centre distance is pref. 25 cm. The sheet metal box containing the top mounted gear wheel and depending spindle for tool attachment is pref. constructed in two trough shaped parts (13, 14) bolted together lateral to the top part. Two separate ball bearings (32, 37) are mounted underneath the gear wheel, thus eliminating any possible damage during bearing failure. An oil seal (31) surrounds the top ball bearing, and the unit construction forms a rigid arrangement with easy maintenance facilities.
